This one had everything: An enclosure balanced on the corner of the table, fingers in the enclosure and spiders doing runners all over the place! Bloody brilliant!
Every time I come to this channel, I go, "woah 30-some minutes! Well, maybe I'll just watch a bit." And then I end up watching the whole thing because it's just so mesmerizing.
I'm an arachnophobe and I'm grateful for your videos. I'm learning a lot in an attempt to handle my fears. I've even taken to pausing your videos at times and sketching out these incredible creatures. Thank you so much!
I think your videos offer the most accurate information and the best videography of any I’ve tried, and without heavy metal or some other completely obnoxious background music! I want to shake some of the hobbyists the second I click on their videos! And there is so much dangerous misinformation flooding TH-cam that I’m amazed that they’re able to get away with it. I’m just very grateful for you and the fabulous Camera Lady. Please keep the videos coming.
Omg I made myself keep watching with anxiety rising. It was fascinating and your narration is really relaxing and certainly made it easier to make it through, but wow, when they would start climbing out of both tanks my feet were tapping at a million miles an hour.
Wild that I am SO stressed watching them all escaping over the side of the enclosures repeatedly and you're the one actually doing it and just aren't bothered at all, haha.
You both have such calm, capable energy, never lose patience or confidence, and always handle your spiders with aplomb. This is how it should be done! Very impressive work - glad you are committing it to video on TH-cam, to help educate (and entertain) others - you are a great example to follow.
Love the photography, excellent clarity. The little chuckles in the background make my day. You really seemed to have your hands full this time lol. Awesome how many there were!!
There are 32 in all. You accidentally counted 27 twice because there were like 3 trying to escape at the same time. I have arachnophobia and I watch these and other videos to try to desensitize myself. I know it’s helped me too. I’m from North Carolina in the US and I saw a HUGE fishing spider on the side of our house one night (there’s a creek right beside us) and yes I screamed and ran BUT I went back outside and took pics of it to later identify it. And I was so proud of myself that I did so correctly. A year ago I would’ve never gotten that close to even take a picture. It’s eyes were shining white in the flash of the camera. Granted I have very small hands but this spider was as big as my hand is and I’m not exaggerating in the least. You know everything about spiders so I know you believe me on that one. I appreciate him going back to the creek to eat up some minnows cause I haven’t seen him since.
Great video as usual. It was fun to see some trying to escape while you caught up the others. I thought it would be absolute chaos, but with your calm, cool demeanor, as usual it all worked out with no drama. Thanks, it's amazing to see so many together like that, especially when you turned over the bark. :)

Crazy how fast they are lol. What's even crazier is this huge wolf spider I had in my place and it damn near teleported right in front of me. It's menacing lol
not many tarantulas can actually live together this way. most of them will kill/eat the other spiders when they get hungry or feel threatened. M. Balfouri are one of the few tarantula species that can be kept in a communal enclosure and they end up looking really awesome because of their heavy webbing. that's why in the new enclosure he has so many sticks and stuff - all webbing points for them. But yeah most spiders would not deal with this well haha even mating time can end up deadly for a lot of tarantula species.
Growing up my sister had a shoulder pet tarantula that loved being with her so I'm not afraid of spiders so this was very fun and entertaining to watch. I would love a timelapse of them building their web nest. It feels like it would be so calming to watch. lol Thank you for sharing!
I know that I will never be comfortable to remove debris with my bare hands. I use my long tongs, even if they're just Brachypelma and Grammostola. Not taking any chances of an accidental bite given how food motivated they are. A balfouri would possibly be one of the very OWs I'd consider acquiring. Nice job and once again major props for not panicking or anything. Goes to show you've worked with these enough than you can almost predict how they'll react to your actions. Stay safe and thanks for sharing :)
My Arizona blonde is the only one I’ve handled so far. She was really docile and seemed dopey the past 3 months since it’s been late autumn and winter but perked up and moving faster now

Hello from New Zealand, Dave. We unfortunately can't keep any of these beasties here (apart from our local tunnelwebs), but me and my sons watch every video you make. You've sparked a real interest in my boys that I'm sure will stick with them. Thanks for producing such fantastic, informative content!
You are so right! I remember being a kid and having random curiosities about something and being directed to "go to the library" at which I would roll my eyes because even if I tried, I was likely not going to find the right book, much less did I want to read an entire book to find an answer! Kids today "wonder" boom 💥 instant gratification! And with amazing creators like Dave, it's not an answer, but a conversation and exploration like none other! Kudos for Dave and double kudos for being a dad who will share in your boys' interests!
@David m3 maniac I expect it's because these non native species could pose a threat if they escape. In Florida, escaped/ let loose iguanas, pythons, and quakers, have pushed some native species out of thier homes and depleted thier foods. Now our power stations are full of communities of quakers, our back yards are full of iguanas, and our waterways are full of 10 foot pythons dangling from the trees. They have upset the ecosystem of the native species, never mind that I love the squawks and bright green of the quakers, and being an iguana lover, and keeper, loved feeding the wild iggies in the back yard. I could do without the pythons. 😆 🤣 😂
This video really put a smile on my face, it was so funny to watch those guys trying to escape! Love how calm you both were. Probably wouldn't have been laughing so hard if it was me!

I love how you are so CALM handling these Old Worlds. You are SO good at what you do you don’t even get nervous with 31 youngsters running around. It’s impressive friend. Absolutely impressive!! You and the Mrs deserve the title of BEST in the hobby!!!
Spiders are fascinating little creatures. I love spiders as much as I love snakes...in someone else's house. Great to watch but glad you have them at your place...lol. My daughter did Black widow spiders in 3 cages and ended up with 8 egg sacks. You can image my reactions when they hatched. Called the zoo and they were thrilled to get them. They got all of them in 2 large paper bags sealed shut and the keepers were pretty happy.
It never ceases to amaze me how kind and gentle you are around spiders even with a whole commune of them. These Balfouri are lucky to have you around. :)

Don’t know why, but I watched this before going to bed last Night and fell asleep halfway through just because of your calm narrating. This morning I woke up with tingling sensation inside and I realized that now wherever I step in my apartment, I can’t help but imagine 30+ Balfouris nestled in my shoes, behind the toilet or in the toilet bowl, in my cupboards, in my drawers, etc. I’ve just traumatized myself for a good couple of weeks.
I cant believe Dave just casually putting his hands down and ripped into a full blown hairy leg spider community...my heart rate went through the roof and I cringed everytime he pulled up a bit of webbing..much respect to Dave...
I started getting so excited as you were removing that one stick and suddenly more and more spiders just kept pouring out. Amazing collection and lovely specimens!

You can tell by the comments of people triggered by it. You know the algorithm has done its job when people stop by to talk shit because it's so far outside their bubble.
Well done.
Thank you 🙏 ❤️
When those spider got loose! Holy cow! Three of those running around in my house means I’d have to move out, lol. Good job capturing all of them. Will you show us how they web it all up in a few weeks?
It’s coming 😂👍
Shit just one of them in my house and I’m out lol
Yea…1-2 is the right amount to have running around your house
Love your spidey collection, I too admire what usually freaks people out, they are fascinating!
I hate house spiders but love tarantulas and jumping spiders. No idea why, but these spiders are absolutely precious!❤
