01:26:00 I don't necessarily use the disc drive but I do want to have the option for the few BlueRay movies I still own and about 350~400 Xbox 360/One discs I still own. And it would cost them nearly nothing to put one in.
I think it would be great for them to allow external disc drives via usb. I honestly think PS and Xbox should have moved to SD cards for games, because they can hold more than discs and load faster. Like Nintendo cartridges but non-proprietary. I could see that happening in the future, perhaps, and then you can have external drive for back compat. I haven’t purchased a physical game since 2015, but I still like buying movies physically
Midnight Suns is fucking superb! That game made me realize how much I love turn based games. I beat it on every single difficult and have nearly 500 hours. I’m hoping for a sequel. I played XCOM 1 and 2 after beating it and was disappointed
I highly highly recommend yakuza like a dragon. You don’t have to play any of the prior games. The story, side missions are so emotional and funny it really hits... and the English dub is incredibly acted . Please trust me when I save this is the game you need to play.
and I’m not sure this will make sense, but I have not played the sequel yet and it’s crazy because I was so emotionally involved with the first game. My heart hurts just thinking that these characters that I love so much I have to go through some shit again... yes that game is that emotional. There are times I had to put the controller down and almost lose it...
with all that being said, yakuza like a dragon, it’s in my top 10 games of all time ..

Colin even talked to Jez about this, psn profiles is opt in optuonal and only has a total of 4 million users.
Going off of True Trophies, Helldivers 2 only sold 50k copies.
Also, for a better example says Spiderman 2 only sold 121k.
I’m gen z I’m 21 and a lot of the times I’m confused because most college students have consoles and when I was in highschool all people talked about were consoles them saying we don’t appreciate them comes as a suprise to me
Starfield looks better than Dragons Dogma 2 and barely anyone is having an issue with how that looks.
Some better facial animations and Elderscrolls VI will look great.
After games like DD2, witcher 3, Elden Ring.....TES6 has some big shoes to fill..... especially in melee combat, its not good in starfield

Damn man, skipping Yakuza 0 would be criminal. That is the best game in the series IMO. You wouldn't have to play all the rest, but play that game. The storytelling is just amazing. And you would at least know Kiryu and Majima.
people seem to forget about older members of Gen Z, console gaming is very very prevalent among older Gen Z

I’m adult gen z and I’ve been gaming since pc sims 2 and 3 as well as spore, ps2, nintendo ds, psp, the wii, wii u, 360 slim and launch, ps3, xbox one.
there’s plenty of games with many Gen Z and even Gen Alpha players.
even on xbox sometimes I’ll be playing a game and invite someone to the party ready to trash talk, and they turn out to be a squeaker so I just say good game and send them on their way.
you can find so many examples of Gen Z gamers reviewing console games or making memes about console games. in video game discord servers they’re often the majority of the members.
Adult Gen Z grew up with a lot of things from the nineties without being from the nineties. pokémon, yu gi oh, we grew up with physical media,
we grew up with gamestop being worth something, blockbuster. minecraft made a lot of money on consoles, I don’t know a single person in my direct age group that hasn’t played minecraft on a console or pc.

Jez I’m sure there’s plenty of people enjoying playing on Xbox. Gamepass has been killing it for me and keeps more than busy between Microsoft releases. Only playing Overwatch while you’re waiting to not finish the next big rpg must get boring. No wonder you’re frustrated. Lol.

i'm switching from playstation to pc gaming. neither consoles have the exclusives to interest me. between a switch and pc you have everything you need gaming wise

@@DovahVokuna yup, that's why I'm really hoping Xbox makes a branded PC with the console OS running on top of a Windows lite - for every1 saying it won't work check out the Steam Deck OS running on PC with just a controller, it's so close and doable.
Everything Rand is saying I agree with. It makes me mad that Phil doesn’t see this. I’ve been bitching saying we were promised all these games are coming. It’s here now. Okay WTF are the games? The first real bangers is Hellblade basically in June. We have to wait half the year to get a killer game. So in my book the year is wasted. I feel like we have no first party for 2024. Because I haven’t gotten a new Fing game. Don’t say Diablo. I already own it and played it. Xbox can never get games delivered on time. Even Diablo was days late. I told my friend to download on the 25th when it was originally supposed to launch. He’s like it’s not there. Xbox is always late. If I promised all these Cbox users all these games and I saw that we weren’t going to have them start to hit market u til half the year is gone. I would have bought third party games or third party exclusives timed release. So my customer wouldn’t know the difference. All they would know is that they are playing new games. But it seems like every time Xbox gets something good going they sit on their Bitts giving each high fives and reach around. And before they know it they are in the dog house again.
XBOX has always had game problems which is weird for a games company.

I’m 22 and I play games regularly. Grew up with the DS and Wii. Got my first PS with the 4 but I played GTA SA HEAVYYY on the ps2 at my cousins house. I had a ps5 but I sold it and mainly play on pc. But I still play heavy on ps, stellar blade, ff16, spiderman, etc. I play on PC and ROG Ally. I only buy good games and I usually wait for sales. Where I’m from (New Jersey), Xbox is a laughing stock and even I ignore Xbox most of the time. I also play a lot of cod and 2k

It does to me feel like the multiplat strategy damaged the Xbox brand. I think the live service games were the only ones that made sense and the PR would’ve been infinitely better if it was just those.

I've not looked at USA Data but it's possible you're both right. Monthly, quartley, yearly inflation can all be very different numbers.

If the Xbox leadership can't tell that the brand and its reputation is severely damaged by them relasing games on PlayStation then there really is no hope.
I don't even play on Xbox but I did have a 6 year old recurring PC GamePass subscription which I immediately and permanently cancelled when MS started bending over to Sony. They simply lost all the respect I had for them.
Releasing on PC is fine.
Releasing on Switch is fine.
Releasing on PlayStation, the console of the company who has literally been abusing their market position and have sabotaged and tried killing the Xbox brand constantly for more than two decades really is one pathetic bitch move.

Who cares if the series X digital has less features than the PlayStation pro. When the series X was more powerful than the PS5 and had more features did ponies cry over paying the same amount having no full RDNA 2 and less power. Those dumb ponies bought that space heater anyway. So why give them any narratives. Just say ponies didn’t complain when they had less and paid the same amount and Xbox consoles costed.
