  • Interesting Spots:
    * 0:59 - I was so focused on the kart ahead and was planning to go a little wide, but didn't notice someone was already stopped there 🙃 glad I bought rib protectors
    * Marc leaves me stuck behind another kart at 5:58 and wind up STUCK behind him for the next 4 minutes. I think whatever opening I must have thought I saw was a mirage because it doesn't look like I should have attempted it but nevertheless I do and wind up spinning him out at 9:44 (my bad!)
    * 10:52 wind up succumbing to getting pushed around in traffic
    * 12:27 - I was loving this slide all day
    * 12:33 - oh hi Marc ‪@m17mvc‬ • Oh Hi Mark HD
    * 14:45 - traffic with ‪@Buzzraces‬
    * 15:51 - I become super obsessed with this tire rolling around on the track, assuming it fell off the car who crashed into the wall when I saw the tire come out. I have no idea why I was so focused on this tire or the need to let everyone know that I thought someone lost a wheel. I hear carbon monoxide levels were high indoors and my only guess is that I had lost most of my brain cells by then 😅

    The race that literally tried to murder the entire field: wether by blunt force trauma or asphyxiation… and yet, super duper fun. Feral.

    Now that's some action! The double hit at beginning was rough!
    You drove really well, I thought. Technique is really lovely and line was fab.
    You are a bit too nice, imo. The fella that you end up dumping drove well but you were faster. Personally, I'd have been pressuring him like I do (which isn't nice, but gets the message across).
    I also struggle with this sometimes, particularily against folks who drive well but are a tad slower. You wanna be respectful but you also have to figure out how to take control of those situations. Get back to me if you figure it out! 😅
    I see in later half that you start getting more assertive. Remember that in those pack situation a well timed bump to the guy directly ahead can send him under and you can follow, often.

      Yeah like 14:57 in the moment I felt bad about trying to squeeze through there but watching it back it's not so bad. And I was getting hit repeatedly all throughout the day on corners so I had to give a little back haha. I agree though I'm probably way too nice in most of these situations. Probably spoiled by the Supercharged blue flags 😅

      @@nikspeeds bear in mind that position racing is a whole different thing and it takes a bunch of experience to get to the point of guys like Marc and Tanguy.
      What's interesting to me about you is that your technique/kart handling is Very high (you prolly a bit faster than me on a weight adjusted basis) so your experience of learning how to race well will be colored by that and you'll get to bypass a lot of the dumb mistakes.
      It just seems to me you need some more laps in traffic such that you really feel the kart under you and WANT to hold the other guy to it (or cede).
      Gray shirt in 1st half is a good example. Eventually he turns down and you and doesn't have the experience to deal with it and dies a self-inflicted death.
      you were too nice to him. The guys behind you were giving you apex taps... ....you should probably use your nose a bit and ask the gentleman ahead just how deep he'd like to go because, like it or not, he's going to experience your pace.
      Don't be dumb about it and rush past but assert and tap when it makes sense to do so. Ride the bumper mercilessly. Push him past his comfort zone and he will either (a) point you by or (b) make a mistake.
      Go back and rewatch grey guy and then watch your later race driving. It's an interesting progression. Sorta real-time learnings.

      Yeah I see like 6:45 following Grey you can see / hear me feathering the throttle to avoid hitting him coming into that corner. Another minute or so later though I'm getting bumped repeatedly so I have to start pushing up more.
      This is really only my second time doing a position race, I'm excited to try more next year [hopefully]. I had a great time
