Denzel's intelligence has led him to be very selective in his roles. Like Anthony Hopkins and James Stewart, he becomes the character, and you forget he is an acting icon of the film business. He's just top-tier all the way. You two have a very genuine reaction to these movies. Nothing gets past you in the script, either. Well done.
@A Planner and a Dreamer Sorry, I'm not up on Hopkins career. I probably didn't say it properly, but I was referring to the related acting accumen of these actors, not their personal lives. Have a great day!
@@Nightwalk444 Yeah I would say someone like Wick is an angel of death. I mean he killed hundreds of people in his movies. McCall is like the angel of vengeance. Sent to punish sinners and test a person's morality.
Samuel's story is so SO sad. He lost his sister when they got sent to the camps. He made it out, assumed her dead; he found HOPE when he saw the painting of him and his sister, dedicated his life to get ownership of it to have that piece of her. Only for her to BE ALIVE and them reunite in the end. I cry every time.
That scene with Denzel and the kid where he is talking about death is so powerful. If Denzel was in my face yelling at me with nose touching nose, about how awful death is I would completely reform and become a monk. Denzel does such a great job at conveying the hurt, and pain, the finality of it, and emptiness that death can be.
There is a Equalizer 3 in production set to release at the end of the year, it's with Dakota Fanning, basically a "Man on Fire" reunion. Not sure if you guys have seen it, Denzel played Dakota's bodyguard when she was a little girl in Man on Fire (2004).

I loved the emotional parts in this sequel! Robert wanting to help his community and the people he came across to kind of make up for what he did in his past (that’s how I see it) is an awesome story. I can’t imagine what Equalizer 3 is going be like. LOVE Denzel! Especially in his movies where he not only imparts wisdom to the character but also to the audience. 🤩🤩
I remember the one I was thinking of... "The Accountant"! Incredible. Very emotional and action-packed like "Equalizer 2". That's the one I'd love to watch along with you.
Nikki love, you’re such a sweetheart.. even watching the most action packed explosion filled movies you still find ten different adorable things to love (and cry about).. don’t change girl, your reactions are always entertaining af 😂
Nikki I just love you!! I love your humor but your sensitivity is incredibly awesome. I cry at the same scenes you did. Miles & Robert having a connection, Sammy finding his sister, Robert always standing for what's right are always getting my heart in the feels. Please, never NEVER change. I love that Steven also shows his emotions as well. Y'all rock!
In spite of all of the crazy stuff that happened, the talk he gave to miles in the hallway was by far the most powerful, jarring, sympathy-inducing, beautiful scene in a movie chock full of powerful emotional scenes.
I think is a good person in reality. Chadwick Boseman (RIP) from Black Panther had said that there should not be a Black Panther (let's say Chadwick Boseman's version) without Denzel Washington. In fact, he said, it was Denzel Washington who had taken care of his school fees.
I'm the same way, Nikki! Anytime I see something like the kid being returned, my inner dad just kicks in and I'm immediately emotionally invested. Edit: PS: on a personal note, the obvious depth between you two gives me a lot of hope. There really seems to be a lot of support and reciprocation within your relationship and it's brilliant. Just one internet rando, I know but... Thank you.
The cinematography in this movie is just a work of art. I’m constantly impressed by how they filmed this. The symmetrical shots are my favorite but every scene is shot so masterfully it’s just 😩 I love it
The morality of combat was the most unique element of this film. McCall held onto his while his team had lost theirs. General Martin Dempsey wrote that the "moral compass" he and Navy SEAL Mike Wisecup developed for leaders in combat had trust at the center. They determined that trust in combat is built by justice, courage, patience, honor, tact, loyalty, charity, and truth.
The thing they carry over from the TV Series is the need for redemption from their previous life as an assassin. There's a scene in the TV series where he talks about waking up in a dream and he's on a beach, the sea is on fire and he is surrounded by the dead he killed or died around him. The pain when he's calling Miles killer reminds me of that, and informs his motivation to balance things out.
The movie “Taking Chance” (starring Kevin Bacon) could possibly top Nikki’s list of things that would make her cry. Hope they get to react to it sometime soon, if they haven’t already.
Fantastic movie. Don’t know if you guys noticed but the little girl he rescued from the train is the same girl that’s in the library, in which the reason why the woman didn’t have to sell the shop was because her daughter was rescued.
The explosion caused by the flour cloud is an actual thing. I’ve seen it demonstrated by firefighters to show why you shouldn’t dump flour on a kitchen grease fire.
The thing that I loved, was in that scene with Miles when he took him from that gang hideout, his speech about how blaming others, blaming the system, blaming white people, none of that would help him, he needs to do that himself, like that's not a message usually "allowed" by the mainstream media, and Denzel Washington actually believes in that in real life as well. Everytime someone tries to bait him to talk about race relations he always brings it back to personal and individual responsibility and I love that about him. He's extremely wise for someone in Hollywood.
I absolutely love watching both of you reacting (and the way you guys don't hide your emotions from us) but ever since watching Nikki through GOT (and all the reactions since) and how she crumbles watching animals and children being hurt (when most people wouldn't these days) it is very clear how much of a beautiful human being she is. For his movies i always found "Deja Vu" super underrated. "Safe House" and "The book of Eli" is both amazing. "Flight" one of the better emotional deliveries he's done.
Nikki&Steven, I absolutely love you two. I'm a 73 year old Viet Nam Veteran, with many dark shadows I still remember and live thru. But watching the love between you two, reminds me of my wife and I, who have been together 55 years, married 53 and really adds to any review you make. Everyone needs a Bob McCall as a friend, watching your six, and fighting for you. Another great film in the series. Also looking forward to number three. Great reaction from both of you.
I love that this movie got filmed near where I live. The first movie took place in mostly in Boston, this one filtered down to the South Shore. All those scenes in during the storm were filmed in Duxbury and Marshfield Ma. The wooden bridge they drove over is Powder Point, a local landmark. The water really is that close to some of those houses too. I honestly don’t know how they can live there when a storm comes through. Glad you guys enjoyed these, I don’t feel it gets enough credit.
Flour is highly explosive under certain conditions. The finger breaks in the apartment was Robert actually turning the fingers out and towards himself, breaking all the fingers but not the skin. Great review and reaction. Nikki, you are awesome. Hang in there.
Great reaction ... on this and the last one too !!! BTW, the FLOUR thing was cool, and absolutely a REAL thing. Just like gasoline, flour won't blow up in bulk, but when it's "aerated" (i.e. air between droplet/particles), it is HIGHLY explosive. "All flours contain starch, which is a complex carbohydrate made from glucose molecules chained together. Glucose is almost always highly flammable." Basically, pretty much anything in powder form that is flammable is explosive when aerated, such as sawdust, talc, dust, etc. ... they all react the same way.
I've talked to others about which film they liked more: 1 or 2. Most people seem to like 2 more and while 2 is very good, I still prefer 1 because that's when we learn was Robert is capable of. Also, I really enjoyed the tension between Robert and Nicolai in the first film. Finally, I was sore and still remain sore that they killed off Susan in 2! I really liked that character!
At 52:00 - flour is INCREDIBLY flammable. It's because of all the surface area of all the tiny particles, added to the fact that it can be easily aerated. A flashbang is basically an incendiary device (the noise is due to the rapid gas expansion from the ignition inside the body of the grenade). Corn storage silos, woodworkers shops and bakeries don't just burn, they basically explode if they catch fire (look up grain silo explosions if you never want to feel safe on a farm again) because the fire spreads so increibly fast.
Yes ! I was waiting for you guys to react to this one. I loved the equalizer 2 way more than the first. The action, especially that final battle and the emotion they all amped up in the sequel. I watch this one regularly in fact because it was so good
Thank you Nikki and Steven, You two have brought light to my eyes every time I see an upload. I have a chronic and...unfortunately terminal... whatever. Thank you for everything my friends and I wish you the best, I love you for helping me through all the pain I have. I'm still kicking but..just in case I hope you see this and know that your videos do truly bring joy to those who are suffering. God bless you
52:05 It is called a dust explosion. Most stuff is flammable if it is grind and has a huge surface area. Many mills exploded like that. Some artists use flour instead of other flammables because while it is harder to get a good flame form spraying flour it isn't toxic.
i wanna say what an amazing reaction steven reacted the way i did actually when i first saw equalizer 2 again amazing reaction so happy you guys watched this equalizer as well
I think the real appeal of this movie is Robert represents the majority of people in society. Not so much the efficient killer part but just the quiet, live and let live sort of person that really notices life's subtle injustices because you care and actually value the golden rule. He does what good people wish they could do to bring harmony and balance to the world. Just fixing good people's lives because he can't fix his own life and loss. This is how he equalizes himself, by equalizing the world around him and giving back to the people in pain because he understands that pain. The series is one of my favorites, ever.
You guys are my favorite reactors, always a blast seeing your reactions. I definitely agree in that Equalizer 2 is a step above the first but both movies are incredible to watch. Denzel Washington is definitely among my favorite actors of all time, dude owns every role he's in. And yes, I actually choked up when the old man reunites with his sister. That scene always gets me.
If you two really want to watch a movie that will take you on a roller coaster of good battles, emotional scenes and historical background, you should watch "The Last Samurai". Yet another Tom Cruse movie...very well done! Hope you get to enjoy and review it with us.
Pedro is so amazing in both hero and villain roles. And Denzel washington is a whole league on his own! This series is definitely one of the top of any action series
If you loved the emotional deliver of Denzel Washington, I cannot stress this enough...you need to watch John Q. Not a single movie since has ever made me feel as many feels as John Q did. It's an amazing piece of writing, directing, cinematography, and acting. Please watch John Q! Edit: The fact that I didn’t mention Kimberly Elise’s performance was criminal of me. She was absolutely unparalleled as a supporting actress.
Kimberly Elise's acting is SEVERELY underrated. Her performance in "For Colored Girls" chills me to my core and breaks my heart to this day. I almost can't even watch it sometimes 😂
Random bit of trivia; the character Sammy was played by Orson Bean, who was the voice of Bilbo Baggins in the original animated Hobbit and Return of the King movies.

The scene with the gang snd gun wasn't the character. It was Denzel being himself. That was unscripted. Amazing moment in film
the director of these is Antoine Fuqua(also did training day). He films some really cool action with tension.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but, I believe Fuqua also did Magnificent Seven.
@@keithkurumaji3886 you are absolutely correct
God bless you
Both movies are so great!!! I think I've watched them them both over 50 times a piece. I can't wait for 3 to come out.
Loved your comment Nikki "Don't drink the orange juice, that's not yours" made me spit my coffee out it was so funny lol x
Love this series! Can’t wait for the ‘Man on Fire’ reunion in the third one! Great reaction 🫶🏾
52:05 It is called a dust explosion. Most stuff is flammable if it is grind and has a huge surface area. Many mills exploded like that. Some artists use flour instead of other flammables because while it is harder to get a good flame form spraying flour it isn't toxic.
Pedro, how could you!! 😱 What would Grogu think? 😶😂 Spent half the movie going and the rest bawling my eyes out 😭 Another awesome reaction guys! 🤗🥰
You two had me all in my feelings, I've seen this movie before and wasn't this emotional you two had me 😢. Really enjoying your reactions.
when Denzel starts speaking you listen
This movie is one of my favorites and seeing it again was great but perhaps even better was the response you two had. You both are fantastic....
i wanna say what an amazing reaction steven reacted the way i did actually when i first saw equalizer 2 again amazing reaction so happy you guys watched this equalizer as well
"Did he make a wish?"
I shot tea out my nose!!!
🤣😂🤣😂
You guys are awesome! New sub here! 😊
"See you at work!" Coolest line ever.
Letting your emotions out makes people connect with y'all more genuine in this space ♥️
Everyone used to want an Equalizer, John Wick and Taken team up, lol.
I love the interaction you two have with the movies. One of my favorite reaction people. Looking forward to many more movies with you both! 🤘
If you two really want to watch a movie that will take you on a roller coaster of good battles, emotional scenes and historical background, you should watch "The Last Samurai". Yet another Tom Cruse movie...very well done! Hope you get to enjoy and review it with us.
You guys are so awesome! I really enjoy watching your reactions, emotions and really loving and investing in the stories. Looking forward to more!
Pedro is so amazing in both hero and villain roles. And Denzel washington is a whole league on his own! This series is definitely one of the top of any action series
I feel exactly the way you do about the Equalizer movies. So good. So satisfying that the good guy gets the bad guys.
I'm a cry baby when it comes to emotional movies and shows, but that movie always always make me like boohoo cry especially now that i have children.
Agreed it is a tear jerker !!!
Random bit of trivia; the character Sammy was played by Orson Bean, who was the voice of Bilbo Baggins in the original animated Hobbit and Return of the King movies.
Did I know the Sammy/Magda scene was coming?: yep
Did I cry with Nikki all over again?: yep 😂
