No, I'd give it to Fanatec as well, and beimg a Asetek La Prime dd owner, Fanatecs eco system is massive and console compatible, and they're older than Clint Eastwood. That said, Asetek has a much better upside than Fanatec. The software is amazing, even the Forte wheel lol it's ugly, been it's exactly what I need, and not to mention the compatibility with GSI or Cube Controls, simucube. Asetek may not be better than Fanatec now...give it 5 years.
I am surprised of how good this review is, actually. Some experiences were not covered (heat and sound, unless there were nothing to report about), some options and comparisons like LaPrima vs DD were not made. Maybe, some more details about "let's calculate whole setup" would be add that extra weight into decision. But overall this review went through all important points and differences. Also surprised on un-maturity of drivers. How on earth such a popular "veteran" manufacturer can release a bad software. It's much easier to design and fix than hardware and it hits experience so much. Honestly, this is the key factor that I would not buy Fanatec that I would have bought otherwise (better "on paper" FF, better ecosystem and potentially better options in terms of telemetry-feedback). So if I had to pick right now - it would b Asetek for quick-release (the best vs mess new Fanatec QR2 - too few wheels, too expensive). Maybe I am wrong and set of two QR wheels is all we need and it is not that expensive.
@@unotoliDriver 455 is actually working fine though lol people get them then uodate to beta drivers. I think you are listening to rumors. People imo shouldnt do betas testers can and others but most normal consumers shouldnt. the people having issues usually are ones going to driver no456 and now 457 both beta drivers. No455 is gine though ive had mine on it for months works perfeclty Please keep in mind fanatec sold 60k units black friday weekend alone. Its what put them so far behind so if you see let's say even 2k complaints that's only 2% people don't seem to account for this. Fanatec sold 6x the units any other brand did on black Friday and for good reason half price on most things so it was to be expected.
Thanks for telling us that top DD bases have nearly the same FFB and that we should focus on other features. Especially prices on our local resellers and bundles to save money (in my country, Spain, Asetek bundle is more expensive than Simucube 2 pro bundle).
i disagree tbh. should aim for the best ffb quality you can afford. i feel like the ecosystem isnt a big deal. just use other shit... but the wheelbase itself is what really matters to me
I ordered a DD+ base and a QR2 14 days ago and it arrived yesterday so no issues for me. It’s such a shame for all the other customers who have suffered recently
New Fanatec customer here, Ordered my ddpro bundle for ps5 gt7 on Sunday. FedEx tracking says it will be here tomorrow Wednesday (usa to usa). Out of all the TH-cam reviews, yours seem the most unbiased and honest. There are definitely bad apples in the space though.
Thank you for bravely performing this review. Remaining calm while providing product features and facts, even if some members of the Simracing community might become irritated, is the right approach. In this case, I appreciate your clarity in stating that Fanatec has developed a highly competitive base that is on par with top bases like Asetek, Simagic, VRS, and even Simucube. This opens up more choices and greater freedom for us as customers to evaluate all other aspects before investing in a product. Overall, there is a non written consensus that the differences in force feedback (FFB) are minimal among the top bases these days.
Really great review man and I love your absolute honesty on the situation. I have a DD two and I’ve been contemplating moving onto another brand as the overpriced adapters and lack of availability is quite frustrating for such a large company compared to some of the smaller companies that seem more passionate about it.
i just upgraded to a simagic alpha u.. the ffb difference is HUUUGE compared to our DD1/DD2 no graininess and no steps felt. I had to upgrade because of EMI issues. It wasnt a wanted upgrade, but a required one.
Appreciate the reviews. I was leaning hard towards Fanatec up through the Black Friday mess. I went Asekek and am very happy with my choice. Expand-ability - wheels where you don't have to replace the whole thing to simply change the style of the rim or the number of buttons, the ability for 3rd party wheels, the pedals - 2 levels of function for throttle, brake and clutch and more. I wanted to include Xbox compatibility but in the end, I didn't want the factory mess or a closed eco system. And you hit on it, the quick release mess. Even with the new style, torque limiting if you didn't spend even more for the better qr. Was able to get into the Asetek and upgrade everything when I can afford to and thats not talking about what they have coming down the pipe. Thank you.
Great work and appreciate the honest review. I just upgraded from my GT DD Pro to a CSL DD+ Extreme. Love the product sadly have had some major crashing issues that make playing iRacing pointless as almost every race I do I lose FFB and button functionality mid race and either crash or have to pull over and restart my wheelbase to get functionality back. I tried going from 456 to 455 driver package and it made no difference. On top of that I have the constant high pitched coil whine when powered on which my ears have been sensitive as well as a loud squealing noise that comes and goes. I have an entire Fanatec echo system, inverted pedals, shifter, hand brake and 3 different wheels. Customer support has been helpful in their emails its just the response times that are unacceptable. I am working on a return and I don't even want to say how long it has taken. Fanatec makes great products I truly hope they can get it together as the industry has become very competitive and no company can afford to not be on the top of their game when it comes to their products and their support.
Please ask for a differnet wheel. Ive talked to at least 20 owners who all had issues with the extreme wheel yet out on 3 different wheels and no more crashing. The extreme wheel seems to be the issue.
@@reviewforthetube6485 I have 2 other Fanatec wheels the McLaren GT3 V2 and a Club Sport GT Alcantara V2 and sadly with both of those wheels attached I still had the crashing issues. I tried driver package 455 and 456 to no avail as well. The amount of crashes was pretty crazy. I submitted a return within my 14 day time window but had the wheelbase for almost two months before getting my shipping label. I upgraded from a CSL GT DD Pro that I had zero issues. Hopefully most people don't have the problems with the Extreme DD+ setup that I encountered. Hopefully for the other guys its just a bug with the Extreme wheel and will be easily sorted.
Yes Fanatec needs to get their act together. I was a victim of the bf sale in Europe. But eventually I got my order in. After two days my lc pedal stopt working. I contacted support and that was a smooth operation. I got my pedal back within a week and now I am ready enjoying my setup.
As always great video . Thank u for taking the time to make it. I really want the asetek forte but I do play a lot of GT7. I really do wish Sony would open up the PS5 for more bases. I feel forced into buying fanatec or Logitech. And neither option is ideal. But like I said I really do appreciate u taking the time to put this info out there.
Abt 2 weeks ago, I ordered the CSL DD 8NM, CSL Elite Pedals, Mclaren wheel and QR2 system. Even when I knew they got alot problems at this point in time and I'm prepared if my stuff comes later. But I keep thinking "What if I chose the wrong company", but I'll still chose to half-trust them. I really hope I chose right
Don't stress. Outside of the logistic/shipping issue it's still a great product. The fanatec CSL 8nm and McLaren wheel imo, set the standard for what the "entry level" DD needs to have. I'm not saying it's the best. But the 8nm and GT3 wheel will keep you relative and connected to the cars in the top current games .
asetek fan here, the fact that wheelbase is passthru on the quick release and you can simply install a QR on any usb wheel and it will work wirelessly is the nr1 reason i went with asetek. never had issues with connectivity, never had issues with drivers or updates, QR is top notch. on fanatec's side i've only had their clubsport v3 pedals, work well but with current goings-ons you won't be seeing me ordering any fanatec gear. If asetek does not offer the product i want i'll go 3rd party, like shifters or handbrakes, currently have a set of invicta pedals on order, and a simagic haptic motor to mount on the brake (because asetek doesn't have haptic motors yet)
Nice detailed comparison. Nordschleife in ACC does bring out the strength and weakness of each wheelbase. The track is also a good test on the rigidity of the steering wheel too.
Interesting video RC. I have a moza R9 and wont be changing anytime soon, but still like to see whats happening in the sim hardware space. Please keep up the content and dont be put off by some people in the comments - keep doing what you do and trust your own ability and judgement
It’s funny you mention the closed ecosystem, I’ve just changed all my Fanatec gear to Simagic and the overwhelming reason (as well as others) was their QR and the fact for a small amount of money I can slap whatever wheel I want on it.
Even with the fanatec base you can choose the steering wheel you want. Just purchase the Leoxz QR2 Link which emulates the Fanatec F1 steering wheel in order to make all the functions and maximum torque available. Then choose the steering wheel to mount on it since the aftermarket ones all work with USB and SimHub. I 'm using the Leoxz XF1 Pro and have tried others. All without problems.
Thanks for you video upload and time. Love to hear other peoples upinions about these two. Again thanks for this, and dont bother about all the negitive comments let the positives hit you and negatives dont hit you.
I moved from Fanatec to Asetek and I never regret. I had the DD2 and many wheels from Fanatec. An yes, I love the Asetek wheel more than any Fanatec wheel I had in the past…
I ordered the DD Pro three weeks ago and I'm still waiting for news from Fanatec. The product hasn't even been shipped yet. They only respond to emails with a pre-written message saying: we have usually a three day delivery time. They never answer any questions on when you can actually expect the product to be delivered and it's very frustrating to say the least. But the money, they took immediately. I'm sure it's a great product but what use is it if you never get it.
@@strangerdanger1012 I literally wrote in the post above that I ordered a DD pro, like you know the Gran Turismo DD pro pack. Which part of the Gran Turismo DD pro is a preorder? This pack has existed for years now.
As a current Fanatec owner (older CSL Elite wheelbase) looking to upgrade to a DD wheelbase, I've already chosen to go with Asetek for the USB passthrough for custom wheels, as I'm not a fan of Fanatec's closed ecosystem. I already made one custom wheel for my Fanatec wheelbase, but I hated being stuck having to make one that was compatible. I ended up chopping up one of their cheap rims and utilizing its driver board and quick release to make a compatible frankenstein wheel, but it's not great and I really want to remake it with its own standalone driver board whenever I get the Asetek wheelbase. Fanatec's move to new quick releases is also a big motivation for me to just forget about keeping my current wheels and upgrading the wheelbase to stay in their ecosystem, and the supply chain drama doesn't help either. It seems like they really need to change a lot more as a company to keep up with all the new competition that's popping up.
Considering moving away from fanatec for future sim racing purchases. SRMs adapters help make it easier to choose asetek, especially with their usb pass through, so I can still use my fanatec wheels. All this stemmed from fanatec delaying my in stock podium hub purchase because the bundled QR1 was delayed to July (im on QR2 and have spare QR2s lying around so i really dont need another quick release), its dumb that you cant choose not to have a QR in your order.
I have had Fanatec V2 pedals and a Porsche wheel for many years, and after being away from sim racing for a few years, I have become interested again and want to upgrade. After doing some research, the only way I would consider buying Fanatec, is, if I could go to a local Shop and buy it off the shelf and have somewhere, and someone, to take it back if it develops issues. I can do that with Simagic and Moza, and the Asetek distributor. With all of Fanatecs issues surrounding Shipment and Customer Service, I can't see how they can go on being online only at this stage.
This is a great video! I totally agree with the last part. I posted a good review about the DD+ by Dan Suzuki in a local sim racing Facebook group to give the information for those who are wondering how the FFB is. Unsurprisingly, there were some people very ungry because they were against anything positive about Fanatec. I asked them, "Do you want us to lie and say it is a bad product because you dont like the brand?". This was actually ridiculous. If you want to criticize Fanatec or any beand on true things they do wrong, go ahead. We want to inform people of the truth. But to say you are not allowed to say anything positive about them even if it is true, you are just blindly biased. It reminded me of some F1 fans who hate Hamilton and Mercedes because they dominated the sport for so long. They say Hamilton is actually bad and only won because of the car. These examples of people denying reality because it hursts their feelings are maddening.
For me, the Fanatec Clubsport DD+ is a very impressive wheelbase also, and i think its also nice they they are finally with the market again in that sense. Even at the Expo, i gave Fanatec a lot of praise for this wheelbase, and sounds like they have improved the firmware since then. But for your video, i think you did a really good job, very fair and good comparison!
Actually there are repeated warnings on the Fanatec forum to not upgrade the firmware because it's causing many issues. New firmware was supposed to be released in February but it keeps getting delayed.
I have the DD+ and the simucube 2 pro, practically i feel the same with both but the SC pro 2 have almost twice the pull when you hit the kerbs and have cleaner feeling on pianos. Anyway i'm impressed with the DD+, maybe because the F1 wheel+qr2 weights 1,314 grams and 270mm dimension compared to the SC2 pro Wheel (Asher Racing Mclaren Artura Pro SC) 300mm and weights 1934 grams. I just got it for GT Sport and GT7.
looks like the only real upgrade over DD+ FFB vice is simucube. Thank you for your inputs, they will help me if want to do a upgrade from the DD+ if it should break when out of warranty.
@@MultiDragola Im not talking about the wheels but FFB quality. Asetek is better than Simagic as it has more details vs Simagic. DD+ even better than Asetek in FFB details makes DD+ the better base for my needs. I can only see Simucube as a upgrade from this personally. Not that i think anyone will go wrong with ether of these bases but im more obsessed with FFB quality/details than anything else.
@@Jonny._. if you have a dd+ you wont need anything else that a base could offer, it only lacks of power if you come from 25nm but if you come from 5-8nm its a whole different world. In my case, i had a gt sport and gt7 itch that needed to be scratched, after that i will be back to my SC2 pro. Never tested simagic or asetek but should be the same or close, anyway the best one is the one you have!!
@@Jonny._. yeah but also thats not true all reviewers agree while dd+ is better than dd2 it's still behind simucube and simagic. All high end reviews compare the simagic to simucube. I have both and I have to agree that it's on par with the simucube pro
I just got Clubsport racing wheel f1 bundle, also the shifter and the clubsport v3 pedals. It all came like 5 days after creating and paying the order. Everything fine. A lot of people have issues it seems, but if i didnt read about them i would have never thought. The wheel and everything is awesome, it just has a little sound eventually when turning the wheel, like a little clunk, but nothing is loose and it works completely fine otherwise so i am not sure if i try to do something about it or if its normal...
People don't seem to realize even if there were 2k complaints they sold 60k units of dd/dd+ alone during black frdiay weekend so that would only be 2% lol. Of course fanatec has more complaints then other brands. For one there supoort accepts rma unlike other brands who just say oh yeah nosies is normal so people go oh alright and don't complain. Then you have to think oh yeah all eyes on fanatec they sre selling 5c the amount other brands do so you have to expect more complaints. It's just the law of averages.
Like for real think about it people hear the smallest noise out of a fanatec and go omg rma I have an issue. Yet go look at somucubes forums they are telling people it's normal to hear things and even coil whine and that if they tried reducing it would actually effect rhe ffb as they are using queues for ffb from it even though they probably aren't. But that's my point there customer services knows its impossible to make a unit perfect every time so they jsut tell people don't worry its nornal and people then don't care. People just want to know it's ok and that they aren't alone. Fanatec hasn't understood that yet and it would save them slot of time instead of trying to mske people believe every unit should be perfect and there customer support accepting any and everything little thing said or talked about it's also why rma and services take so long. Only brand I've seen that supposedly can't make nosies with customers yet simagic, simucube all of them can and are told it's fine. So people don't freak out. I think that fanatec makes the most silent bases of all so people need to chill. The complaints people make since alot of new sim racers come to fanatec and don't know right from wrong so again you will see more complaints even from that.
@@Remzly That one is a bit hard to answer, but im going to say no, keep the DD Pro 8nm as its still a nice base. I did my upgrade mainly because i wanted more torque. i got exactly that and im very happy about it. DD+ will make it easier catching slides but they are easier to catch because its also a combination of me running the base noticeable harder than the holding force of the DD Pro. Having a heavier wheel feel let me feel more easy what is going on with the car. Personally i get in trouble when i run the DD+ light. Smaller FFB details feels sharper in DD+, but not enough to recommend DD+ if you aren't going to take advantage of the higher torque. A faster slew rate helps but it just feels wrong recommend a expansive wheel base if you dont need the extra power. I dont think you will notice the faster slew rate that much if you aren't going to be running the DD+ harder. I haven't tested them side by side so its my memory speaking, but there is a reason why im keeping the DD Pro as a spare base. If money is not an issue, at all, i say go for it but if money is tight or just ok. Do a upgrade if DD Pro should break when its out out of warranty. That makes more sense to me, as its good to have headroom and DD+ is only 400$ more if you actually have to buy a new base because your other one died. In for example GT7 which doesn't have a lot of FFB details i feel only more static torque with DD+ vs DD Pro, this is also by memory but this was what i felt the same say i went from DD Pro to DD+. In this game i would be fine using my DD Pro today. So it also depends on what games you are playing.
@@Jonny._.Also keep in mind this is at launch. Fanatecs bases are never at peak function at launch. The dd1/dd2 got 2x as good over rhe next year of updates. So imagine the dd+ lol.
@@reviewforthetube6485 If they are able to make this base that much better with time i will be amazed. The DD+ is a high end experience already. The FFB feels incredible in rFactor 2 and Le Mans Ultimate. I did a test of that FullForce demo that is in the 457 Driver, and even i have 4 Bass shakers in my rig this feature can turn out to be way more useful/immersive than i expected.
The Fanatec GT Pro extreme is a fantastic wheel and being able to play on PlayStation, PC and Xbox is huge for those who love actual racing, not spreadsheet data management. All the high Nm is just too much regardless. Precision and fidelity is so much more important.
I never thought I'd get to the point I'd invest in something as expensive as a DD but when the time came I went with Asetek which by all accounts with every other reviewer states the build quality and force feedback are really good (but in all honesty I have no reference point other than a G920 so either would have been a marked improvement). That said and I'm not being a sheep rewarding sucky behaviour by a company. The lack of a standard mounting pattern for both the Asetek pedals (got Forte S Series) and wheel base was annoying, the former solved with a drill the latter solved with Aseteks mount with tilt which for a press braked powder coated metal is too much.
David Tucker from iRacing development team had DD+ well before release. He said that in his testing, DD+ produces the most accurate FFB from the signal (That doesn't mean iRacing has the most accurate FFB signal!!!) And I believe him. But closed ecosystem, no good wheels*, and all the problems with EU shipping, doesn't paint a pretty picture for a potential customer. *Formula wheel is like a toy, Podium BMW M4 GT3 is 1500EUR, and not in stock. Where is Fanatec version of SiMagic Neo Gt? It's an amazing wheel for just 360 EUR... While Fanatec has McLaren wheel for 200 + 100 for QR)
I just sold my ClubSport DD and waiting for my Invicta wheelbase to arrive. ClubSport DD was good but Fanatec is a nightmare right now. And I just got Invicta pedals and that was a game changer for me.
Im waiting on my asetek invicta wheelbase aswell decided to go with p1000 pedals as the travel on aseteks kinda put me off. How are you liken the invicta pedals and what do you normally play with them gts open wheel drift ect? Thanks
@@stinkfinger001 I love the pedals. Had a league race the same day I received them. Within 2 laps I was on pace and by lap 8 beat my personal best. I’m faster with them. Firm pedal but really enjoying them. This is why I bought the Invicta.
Cool to hear. I also sold the DD+ and now have Simucube and Asetek but running the Invicta for the first time as my daily. Paired with HE Ult+ pedals atm but have Invicta S Series to test at some point as well.
@JayKBra really. Can you elaborate on what the CS DD could possibly not have been good enough at? I just can't see why you'd sell the DD+ but maybe the DD 12nm
I have not used the DD+, but unless the Fanatec clubsport DD+ is a much better product than the DD1, I don't the think the DD+ would be a better product than the Asetek line up. I switched from the Fanatec DD1 to the Asetek Invicta wheel because Fanalab had significant bugs at the time that worsen the experience, random and dangerous jitters as an example.
It's so so much better then the dd1. Just ask dd1 users who have switched. It's like a different world even the dd pro was better with details and it was a weaker wheelbase which is crazy to hesr. The dd+ is so much smoother then the dd1 so much faster it's slew rate went from undrr 3nm/ms with the dd1 to now 6.7nm/ms extremely fast ffb response and the wheel itself is so much quicker. It's just a way better wheel and very noticeable.
Also finally fixed the oscillation issue. Probably the best of any fanatec wheelbase down straights yet ypu still feel details and weight so it isn't dead feeling. No more dips like the dd1 had also. Its constant torque unless you feel the undrrsteer or slip which is how it should be.
Fanatec still has a mess. Just received an RMA item instead of a new, in non working condition and a beat-up box with bolts loose inside (no bag, no manual, no stickers, no tools) Their support is non-existent, so after spending over $2k in 2 months, I don't trust them at all whether my stuff would even have warranty, and I am out of a $200 shifter that's now at best a shelf piece :( I would recommend ANYTHING but Fanatec at this point. Their stuff is good, but no support, no warranty, and complete lack of reliability.... and who knows what will happen to the company in the future. I can pretty much foresee a point where there are no drivers. no warranty because the company seises to exist.
I'm hoping that the new CEO will actively focus on cleaning up the backend support issues with Fanatec. It's insane to me that the old one let it fall into such disrepair.
@@OutLanderUSN you know their stock fell 50% yesterday, right? FIFTY ... I want to build a 2nd rig, and at this point I am either going Simagic or Moza, because I just don't trust that Fanatec is still there tomorrow

Im really planning on upgrading my Moza set up and Fanatec is at the top of my list but, I'm in the place where they dont even ship T_T really hoping for global shipping but it seems like a pipe dream at this point
I upgraded a month ago, and went with the Asetek Forte. The DD+ might be a good Wheelbase, but I don't want to deal with Fanatec, their support and bad QC. And honestly, i did not even consider Fanatec after all the horror storys.
The warehouse issue isn't solved lmao. Last month I had a wheel pre-ordered and 1 DAY BEFORE it was suppose to ship they said it would actually ship in 30 more days. This was after waiting 30 days. The charge up front BTW. I went moza. Thanks for delaying my wheel by a month with false promises.
Hey man! May I please ask you to consider making a video on the differences between Simagic Alpha Mini vs Asetek La Prima or Simagic Alpha vs Asetek Forte? I'm not finding any videos on this subject.
I just preder the alpha mini, asetek is great but simagic ecosystem is amazing snd idkbwhat it is but the way it feels when dialed in just does everything just right. Asetek is fantastic but there 12nm model imo isn't as good it's a great base but simagic software has improved the bases so much that I can only see it getting even better. The real issue lies in the actual settings peoppe just don't get it on some bases.
@SankarshanGhosh well it's all preference but one trick I learned from race beyond matter is turn the interpelation all the way up and put smoothness at 1. This water you get a smooth feeling but don't lose out of details.
Can you please go in depth on the dd+ about the base settings in the different profiles s1,s2,s3 how you go into the menu for fbb and ect.. What every thing means I looked for the Manuel on fanatec website but they still don’t have one up, I did find the pro Manuel but again some setting menu options are different….. When I play Assetto corsa the dd+ is amazing on A_5 mode But I’m trying to get into forza Motorsport I figured out today that if you put the sensitivity on 900 for 2.5 rotation like a car it handles very well I don’t think their game works with auto set But in Motorsport it still feels like something’s off it’s not to snappy rotating back to center on its own?
I like to play gran turismo 7 so i don't have a choice i really wish asetek would get console compatibility because for direct drive i only have fanatec and logitech as options and logitech only has one steering wheel and no handbrake option so the only real choice i have is fanatec. I have the gt dd pro 8nm and i am trying to refuse to buy the clubsport dd+ extreme bundle until full force is implemented in at least one game (hopefully gt7 and the game is updated to actually use all the features of the lcd) or they release the qr1 adapter so i don't have to spend an extra $500 on qr2 adapters for all my wheels. I have seen it in one of boosted media's videos so i know it exists why are they not releasing it? And this is after being a victim of their black friday antics and extremely slow and poor customer service where i received my pedal back physically bent out of shape that didn't happen in shipping at least it works now, yet still i am waiting to pay over $1500 for a bundle that doesn't come with brakes because the industry doesn't give me any other real options for a ps5 console compatible direct drive wheel base.
reviews are just descriptions, what makes you faster and consistent is your benchmark and not reviews, ffb is in the hands of the driver it can not be the same from one user to another thats why take reviews with a tons of salt.
My dd1 stop shifting when I turn the wheel with all my wheels. I tried to get it fixed but fanatec never contacted me back. I just got an asetek La Prima and I'm very happy. Shame on u Fanatec, you lost a customer
It’s probably a loose wire. Can’t say for sure as I don’t have that base. But if it shifts when you are going straight, then I wouldn’t say it’s the control chip, though it could be.
Honestly I don't know what to think with all the new simracing hardware coming when softwsre wise, it's been pretty stale. Hopefully AC Evo lives up to the hype.
I have a strong feeling much of the hate for Fanatec is just bandwagon haters and shills for other companies. Waiting a few months because something went out of stock is a non-issue. If you have a problem with that, go look at other hobbies, guitar pedals regularly go out of stock and have year-long lead times. Amplifier repairs can take months, video cards are NEVER on the shelves when a new series comes out. When World of Warcraft releases an expansion, there are 5 hour queue times for a week, and the servers constantly kick you off for about another month at least. For a company to go from so loved to so hated in just a few months, to me it just seems like there was a concerted effort from somebody to cause problems for Fanatec.
Yeah the design is questionable. But they feel and work great. Fanatec in opposite feels and look like toys if you hold it in your hands. Of course this is just my opinion.
Surprised about this?

Please keep in mind fanatec sold 60k units black friday weekend alone.
Yeah, that's the case
They are all using the same ffb protocol, no magic
i disagree tbh. should aim for the best ffb quality you can afford. i feel like the ecosystem isnt a big deal. just use other shit... but the wheelbase itself is what really matters to me
I ordered a DD+ base and a QR2 14 days ago and it arrived yesterday so no issues for me.
It’s such a shame for all the other customers who have suffered recently
I went with Asetek. And I am so glad I did. I was super close to getting Fanatec though. Great video Sir.
New Fanatec customer here,
Ordered my ddpro bundle for ps5 gt7 on Sunday.
As always a great review with genuine and honest opinions and advice. Top notch.
Been waiting for a follow up! Thank you so much! Most CS DD vids are 3+ months old
Yes Fanatec needs to get their act together. I was a victim of the bf sale in Europe. But eventually I got my order in. After two days my lc pedal stopt working. I contacted support and that was a smooth operation. I got my pedal back within a week and now I am ready enjoying my setup.
Great job as usual. I’m watching the situation closely before I upgrade from my 8nm base. This two are the ones I’m considering.
Great review still waiting for the QR1 for the clubsport DD
Great review and thanks for being transparent about Fanatec situation.

They have srm adapter for fanatec now also.
Enjoyed this ❤ DD+ on my rig. All good 👍
I have had Fanatec V2 pedals and a Porsche wheel for many years, and after being away from sim racing for a few years, I have become interested again and want to upgrade.

Fantastic review. Regards from Spain.
@@001sander2 Didnt know about that, but i havent tried it since expo or heard much since lol
Thats not true the simagic alpha u are pretty much on par with sport/pro and cheaper better wheel options @@Jonny._.
The complaints people make since alot of new sim
racers come to fanatec and don't know right from wrong so again you will see more complaints even from that.

Very helpful review! Thank you!
Finally someone is telling the truth because I've been screaming this from the mountain tops about Fanatec as a company for the last several years.👏
Im very happy with my DD+ coming from the DD Pro 8nm.
Is it worth the upgrade if I'm fine with the strength of the csl dd? Is the ffb much better other than being stronger? Thanks
@@Remzly That one is a bit hard to answer,
but im going to say no, keep the DD Pro 8nm as its still a nice base.
@@Jonny._. thanks for the response.
I want to know what we’re all thinking, which wheelbase does the cat prefer?
Tuna tech
Was a long time Fanatec customer but moved to VRS. I did look at Asetek but they have some shady business practices of their own.
Please elaborate on this.
Yeah all peoppe have to do is look ip there coolers and stuff from the past. They did some horrible things
Silly.
Should have kept the better base and the better pedals... why lock to one ecosystem?
Just received an RMA item instead of a new, in non working condition and a beat-up box with bolts loose inside (no bag, no manual, no stickers, no tools)
Their support is non-existent, so after spending over $2k in 2 months, I don't trust them at all whether my stuff would even have warranty, and I am out of a $200 shifter that's now at best a shelf piece :(
I would recommend ANYTHING but Fanatec at this point.

When I play Assetto corsa the dd+ is amazing on A_5 mode
But I’m trying to get into forza Motorsport I figured out today that if you put the sensitivity on 900 for 2.5 rotation like a car it handles very well I don’t think their game works with auto set
But in Motorsport it still feels like something’s off it’s not to snappy rotating back to center on its own?
how does it compare to china trap simagic ?
Disregard the haters. #KeepGoing
If you order from Fanatec you might get it in 6 months if your lucky!! Still waiting for my stuff !!!
reviews are just descriptions, what makes you faster and consistent is your benchmark and not reviews, ffb is in the hands of the driver it can not be the same from one user to another thats why take reviews with a tons of salt.
Which wheel is that at 17:30?
fanatec or Logitech DD?
Which nm did you run on both of them?
12 in base for both
One thing to not fanatec pedals are pretty cheap so staying in fanatec eco system can be cheaper overall.
For a company to go from so loved to so hated in just a few months, to me it just seems like there was a concerted effort from somebody to cause problems for Fanatec.
i got my dd+ and clubsport rs wheel, if you go fanatec, you cant go back
Audio seems super quiet on this video. 'Stats for nerds' showing -16dB
It's a brave individual that puts their hard earned money into Fanatec right now.
Comment before I start video: For some reason I'm drawn to the Asetek base mainly for it's QR and USB functionality.
Don't go Fanatec thy can't supply and don't answer emails or phone calls. Worst customer service ever.
Your cat does not care about your reviews 😂
Sorry but the asetek stuff look like toys
Doesn't matter
Yeah the design is questionable. But they feel and work great.
Fanatec in opposite feels and look like toys if you hold it in your hands. Of course this is just my opinion.
