    Hi Paul, new subscriber just found your channel and have to say I like your videos and the way you explain what you are doing at every step of the way, I'm just a DIY/Hobby painter doing it in my homemade booth so I don't earn anything from my work but loving what I do.
    I'm a member and moderator of a large Facebook group called Spray Painters Network not sure if you are a member but I will give you a share over there and make a post so hopefully you might get a few more subs, stay safe, John 👍

    Do you find the galsurit WOW 00 always lays peel unless you heavily over reduce?

      Hi Dale, yes it does have a peel to it. BMWs have some orange peel to them so I don't mind for these jobs. If I require a smooth finish, like you say I over reduce and lay the door flat to flash off.

    Hey Paul nice job this is our RWalter from the US I was wondering why are you using the glasurit lacquer clear and not the 210 or the 220 clear? By the way love your work !!!!!

      Thanks I really appreciate it. I dont get much say with what products we use, I work for a fast paced production shop and this is what they recommend we use for factory compliant finishes.

    Hey Paul, sorry to post on here again but can you tell me if my Walcom Slim Kombat HVLP 1.3mm is suitable for WoW primer, generally my painting and finish is quite good but I'm struggling with my WoW primer which always looks peeley not smooth like yours here, after the clear has cured I'm getting dieback which always happens to the WoW panels only, any advice would be appreciated, thanks 🤗👍

      Hi John no worries, try applying the wet on wet in a lighter coat. Sometimes less is more. Still a full closed coat. In my opinion a lot of die back can occur because of the amount of thinners throughout the job even though the coat is dry solvents will still be escaping. Etch, wow, base and clear. Without being too technical their is what they call a wick (like a candel) it allows the layers and products to interact with each other. This is why paint companies want you to use one brand start to finish. As the products are all compatible with each other the vapours can travel through the wick and escape. I believe when people mix and match products this is the technical reason the get reactions. 👍

      Thanks for the detailed reply Paul and it all makes total sense, I'll try what you recommend and lay it a bit lighter bit like the first coat of clear 🤗👍

      Hi Nash, I spray at 29 psi or 2 bar for the most part. I was using 1.3 for wet on wet 1.3 hvlp for base coat and 1.2 hte for lacquer. All guns are made by Walcom

    Hi there..Iam starting at a bmw dealership soon and they use glasurit 90 line waterborne..can I ask do you ever tack in between coats or before clear ? Many thanks and keep up the great vids🤙

    • @paulphillipspaintwork
      @paulphillipspaintwork  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Tim,
      I don't tack in-between or before clear. With the exception of one or two colours, c2y for example has a lot of metallics and tends to stand up so I will tack those.
      Also a little note with Glasurit if you need to nib the basecoat make sure it has had a full flash off cycle and is properly dry as it can tear if you try to sand it.

      Thanks Paul for your advice I really appreciate it..just trying to work out good methods of application..sorry to ask one more..even on blend panels does it not cause sand piling if not tacked?or does the clear seem to sort that after 2 coats…thanks again Paul 🤙

    • @paulphillipspaintwork
      @paulphillipspaintwork  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@timreeks2149 no problem, even blends its good. I show everything in my videos so I only tack when you see me tack lol. Glasurit has a m5 blending clear (transparent base) sometimes called wet bed you can use if your not sure with certain colours.

    • @paulphillipspaintwork
      @paulphillipspaintwork  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@timreeks2149 also the clear will bury any sand piling but corse colours you will see the stand up even if it is buried
