Leveling the truck reduces your mpg as well. Also, I'm a long time trout fisherman, and I'll tell you the bait I've found works the best on them. A 1/16 or a1/8 oz. brown Rooster Tail with a gold spoon. You can slay some trout with that. After they stock a fresh mess of fish, they usually bite the best on the 3rd day after becoming acclimated.

I know my little stream was tiny compared with that thing, but winter, cold, fast, and muddy was always the best trout fishing. Trout fishing- we only had trout. Tiny- you could...... spit......across it.

When the water is chocolate like that, find one of those clean creek's coming in. Use a crawler or worm around the mouth. Trout will come up to those areas. But it's in and out so you need your bait sitting there.

You should try Trout fishing with worms we used to do it when I was a kid and would put fish the fly guys with $1k of gear, 2 split weights about 6-10 inches above the hook with a worm wadded up on the hook like a knot.

My friends use to give me crap because I was always the one falling in the creek but now after many years of wade fishing I know my limits and I'm much more sure footed now. So I guess what I'm saying is to the young anglers that are wade fishing just know your limits and if something looks sketchy to cross just don't cross there.

I know the winter blend diesel will drop your MPG alittle. I'm holding out on mine til summer to see if it goes up but I'm with you....6.2 might've been a better option if my MPG isn't higher than 23-25

You want to be careful, putting a water soaked rock, in or near a fire. Water trapped in the rock could cause a steam explosion, turning your flat cooking rock into a grenade.

Put EFI Live on the duramax and you can get more HP and torque and bump your fuel mileage up and you can have separate tunes to do better for towing and daily driving...I had my LB7 getting 24mpg with 35s and 700hp and my LBZ was getting 20mpg unless I turned the tune up and then I would start to get turbo sounds per mile
You should make some inspirational posters and sell them on the Googan App. I think you and Jon B. have the eye for some killer photos. I also think, it would be cool to have some original photos you and the other guys took hanging on my wall.
You should be averaging a lot better than 22, even with the lift and tires. I've seen the stock trucks get around 28-29 at normal highway speeds. Diesel will adapt better to gas engines too under load.
Did you rehear or have the computer programmed for the larger tires? If not your MPGs you are seeing right now are not correct per the trucks computer.
Despite the tough fishing conditions this is definitely more enjoyable to watch then storage units on Lunkers channel.

Our Missouri Catch and Keep season started today and I caught my 4 trout limit along with a 3 pound 10 Oz 20 inch Rainbow Trout. I was really stoked.

Best swingin spoon for stockies is the CP SWING. Hands down. You barely have to reel it in.

We catch trout just a mile or two below the dam on the Guadalupe...of course it's been a year since we were there. They are fine eating!

Stocked Trout that have white meat is pretty bad but stocked trout with bright orange and pink,redish is great to eat

Regardless, 22mpg is pretty dang good for a full size truck. Hell I still run an 80s ford ranger for a beater and o get 14mpg

I love mud and all on my truck but man you don’t run mudflaps at all? With mud comes rocks which then turns into rock chips :S Tight lines LFG!
