Get yourself a portable solar panel, put it on the roof of your truck, love your videos!!! Fishing freak from down under 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺 keep the videos coming.
Just a word of caution when you use the tent and it rains don't touch the canvas, the oils in your skin will cause water to leak in over time and make sure you set it up at home to allow it dry completely or you will get mold and mildew and that will eat the canvas up. My family was able to use the same tint from when mom and dad first got married in 1968 until our last family vacation in 87 where we spent the better part of the summer touring the Rocky mountains. We used that old tint for fishing at table rock and Truman lake most weekends right up to when the fishing slowed down and we would use it for hunting camp, where it would stay set up until the close of hunting season. Uno ma's try taking a small shop vac with to clean as you go and just before you pack it up. Mom used to vacuum after everyone left the tent for the day and we always left our shoes out side under the awning and we did use rugs to help keep the floor warm and to help keep the leg of the. Cot from wearing a hole in the floor, you have to remember we were a family of five using it nearly every chance we had. I hope your new tint serves you well for many years and may you never grow tired of setting it up
Hello! If those poles need to be in specific places, spray paint the ends coordinated colors so you can avoid mixing them up and make set up easier and faster.
We use canvas tents and dining flies for our boy scout outings. Really great. Be cautious of spraying bug spray in or around canvas tents. I've heard it could mess with the integrity if the canvas. We also used bees wax on the seams of the tents as water proofing. Warm wax an rub it on the seams and let it set in the sun. The wax will work into the canvas. I recommend picking up a bees wax toilet ring as it will be cheaper.
Congratulations on your new tent and toys, May it serve you well and bring lots of family fun for many years ahead. When using the propane heater I would suggest leaving the door zip open a little to circulate fresh air, especially if little Emmie is in there. Stay well and God Bless. Ash 🏴
When your all set up at camp and go to make your coffee try boiling the coffee and the water all at once, then pull it from the flame and shoot a little cold water down the spout. That grabs all the suspended grounds and drags them to the bottom. I saw it from a guy online named Kent Rawlings, video is camp coffee. I use it every time and it works great! Love the new set up.
Pretty much my setup. I have the Kodak 10x14. I have used it in pouring rain, and below zero in Illinois winter expeditions, and it has held up fine. I even have the buddy heaters lol. My cots are the cabelas double xl’s. Great set up, you’ll enjoy it for years to come!
My parents used to have the canvas tent that was for a VW bus. We used it one year camping in an actual campground and the wind was horrendous. We left it up when we went out for our daily adventures and when we came back it was the only tent still standing. Canvas is the way to go!
I have camping cots like yours, have the same problem getting the second end piece in. It also included the side pockets - very handy 😉 Your daughter is absolutely gorgeous 💜 When we went camping when I was young, we slept in canvas tents. So much nicer than the nylon.
I used to do a lot of truck camping all over the U.S. and you have made some excellent choices. Most campgrounds have electric hook ups, try using a electric space heater instead of the gas, its a lot safer. Always be aware of carbon monoxide poisoning, leave an air vent into your tent when using gas.
Sorry to be so offtopic but does anyone know a method to log back into an Instagram account? I was dumb lost the password. I love any help you can give me
@Desmond Cesar i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I can't believe you are telling us how a percolator works. Love the videos. Love the tent!! Add a cup of cold water to the pot right before you pour and it will settle the grounds to the bottom.
Justin your tent looks great and it will stay waterproof as long as you don't touch the canvas from the inside when it's raining. Touching with fingers on the inside when it's raining can start a leak. Enjoy it that's old school but it is a lot better for long term.
All good quality stuff and i too have trouble getting that last piece of frame on my cot. I mentioned before that you guys need a grub box. They make all kinds from huge that holds everything to smaller that holds just what you need. I have found that people that have a good well thought out grub box setup that holds cook stove, pots, pans, silverware, plates, storage for different size bags, coffee, flour, sugar, creamer, spices, cooking oil, tin foil, a little junk drawer, and all the stuff you might need can be included in one box that can be loaded in your truck with ease and you'll have what you need. A good one will last you a lifetime, no regrets!
10x10 Kodiak flex bow. In 28 degree rain for 48 hrs plus. It stayed bone dry inside. Same mr buddy, emergency blanket (Mylar) on the sleeping pad, under the bag, I use moving blankets on the floor. It was a very comfortable set up on New Years camping trip .
Just something to help you out. Get a few (6) of the furniture coasters to put underneath the feet of your cot. It'll keep them from rubbing holes in the bottom of the tent. I'd recommend the coasters that have cloth on the bottom. And something cool about a percolator. The reason that the grip cap on top is clear is to see the coffee, to tell if it is finished brewing. Most where glass but now there plastic
My Grandmother use to make coffee the old fashion way . She made it in a coffee pot that had no center cup. She put the water in then the coffee, a pinch of salt to take away the bitter taste and then, an egg shell. The shell was to help keep the grounds from going to the top she said. I make mine that way sometimes today even. And if I wasn't disabled, I'd be out hunting and fishing. Fishing I can do but, I have to take plenty of oxygen with me. Have COPD. Give them two ladies a hello from this old boy and I'm wishing ya'll well son.
I have the 10X14 kodiak tent and love it. The funny thing is I also have the same exact Cot and Cot pad. My brother and I go on primitive hunting trips every year and use the tent and cots and we truly enjoy it. I also use the Mr. Buddy heater to heat mine as well but I only run it to warm up the tent, then turn it off once I get in my sleeping bag. My bag is rated for -30 degrees so I don't need the heater running while sleeping. The only thing I would recommend is to go by Lowes and get you a 10x10 piece of the green outdoor carpet and put it down on top of the ground where you enter and exit the tent. This will minimize the dirt and debris that you get in the tent.
Love my Mr buddy heater. Use it Ice fishing in my shack with the big tank and ive already gotten a week of fishing in without making a dent in the propane! Have fun camping! Looks like a sweet setup! Enjoy the outdoors fishing camping and hiking with the family!! Love you videos, god bless you OSG and Em !!
Love your channel!! Last year I got a Kodiak spring bar tent. Love it!! It's much easier set up and still roomy. I love how they are water resistant and can handle crazy wind. Keep up the good work!
I have a Flex bow tent version of the Kodiak Canvas tent, I’ve had it for for 5 years and it still holds up. I took it out to Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and California and it withstand under harsh rain and snow condition. My only complaint is when camping in below freezing temperature, the top center pole that stretches the roof of the tent, there’s a release button that sometimes gets stuck to the pole. Other than that, love the tent!
I have the same Cot. Been using it for years. Love it. It is a bit hard to get that last pole to connect, but over time, it does stretch and become easier. So better to be a little on the too tight side when new then to loose.
Hook up an inverter onto your truck it turns your truck battery into a generator pretty much and allows you to charge/run anything depending on the inverter size you get. And you can run the truck as you run the inverter so that your truck charges your battery via alternator. Me and my Dad installed one on his truck and it is very useful when we go camping way out in the woods.
Ah yes America, Man at his leasure "usually" relaxing and watering his garden, Justin Rackley has instituted a new past time, "Oh yeah", watering your tent...Its the new thing....nothing grows at all, because we are looking for something else, stayed tuned to the next video when we see how well the tent has received its moisturizing initiation, ...we will be here Justin and love the stuff,,, good stuff. and you know I am kidding Justin, love your videos...you are a true FF and you have devloped into quite a you tube entertainer and celebrity, good on ya, son....
And when do you get the camping baby crib? Don't forget little fold up tables to do food prep on. Are you ready?Let's go fishing Saturday at O.C.Fisher.
@LakeForkGuy I would recommend that for longer outdoor excursions, instead of looking for bigger or longer-lasting batteries look into small solar panel chargers. They are getting more reasonably priced. If you can find one the puts out the milliamps that your equipment needs, then you have unlimited power.
The Perc baby? I love The Perc. One trick about percolators I learned from Cowboy Kent Rollins. After you brew the coffee add 1/4 cup of cold water. It settles the grains if any are in your coffee. The biggest thing to master is not over boiling.
Justin, look up Halo Bolt portable charger as a back for charger things, and to jump start your truck. also can plug your lap to into it, and a light. 58830 Mwh. runs around 180.00. oh and a flight light. now get out there and catch some fish!
Hey LFG if you want to be sure your tent is water tight make sure you hose down let it dry then hose again I have had 3 canvas tents over the years and done that with each without any issues,,, cheers
Great video. I picked up a couple of those Teton cots, sleeping pads, and their sleeping bags at an estate sale last summer. We took them to Yellowstone and had a fantastic time. I had a heck of a time getting the second support in the cots as well.
I bought the same cot a few years back after seeing it on Amazon and was a little shocked as you were on it's actual size. But, it's perfect for sleeping comfortable after a day of vehicle based exploration or fishing. The 2nd end beam is a pain to install, but it does get better. You'll be glad you got the cot pad too, makes a huge difference. Just make sure to unroll it early and let it fluff up before you go to bed, same with that pillow. The heater is great, but I do recommend shutting it off while you sleep and putting it up on a small table to elevate it off the tent floor to avoid melting it.
just a tip for the percolator wet the coffee holder down before you add the coffee and you,ll never nead a filter it amazed me how well it worked the first time i tried it very minimul grinds! love the videos you and the family put out keep them coming
I would recommend getting a G.I. issue duffle bag to pack that into, from personal experience! Rob might have an extra, or pick one up at your local surplus store.
I would get large cooler with wheels and a handle or a garden locker with wheels to put the tent in, thats what I did, it helps moving it. Also seam sealer, tent patch kit, water proof sealer put all in your locker with the tent.
Some advice on the cot setting up by your self when you get one side on the other side can be easily done by using leverage. Just put one on side of the bar on the cot wear the tab is and use your leg or knee to hold the frame of the cot while pulling the other side to get it on the other tab.
Nice tent .....make sure the tent air vents are open when using that heater in the tent . as canvas tents seal up pretty well when wet.......butane heaters give off carbon monoxide and condensation when used .......happy camping ..peace
Percolators make the best coffee if you like it strong. Good content as usual JR. Your production quality/editing is truly great for being a one man band.
I use the exact same cot, pad and heater.. For Winter put a 3 inch insulated Thermarest, 30 inch wide under the pad.. When setting up the cot use a hammer handle to give you the leverage to snap the last end bar in place.. Otherwise in Winter you wont be able to stretch it enough..
This is why I bought a van. Just load it up once with a bed, and an ice box and a solar panel, chuck your fishing gear in the roof rack, and off you go. No time wasted on setting up when you get to camp, you're ready before you even leave home.
A like for the video just alone for the tripping over the tent!!. Would using the heater in the tent cause condensation? Oh and tent tip cut some squares of old rug/carpet and put under the legs of the cot will stop wear or putting holes through your ground sheet. You may even be able to get some foot pads for the legs
I'drecommend looking into the queen size cot for family camping, but you can make do with a queen size air bed/mattress. You Definitely need to have momma comfy!
Boy that is "Really rough' n it. The only thing it lacks is your big screen TV. I'm just jealous. You wont be able to take it anywhere but the campground. If you are going fishing in a mountain lake, you had better leave it home. Have fun with it. Luv the viedos.
hello lfg just make sure you get water proof spray as well when me and dad used to go camping we used the same sort of tent and when you get home from camping set it back up to dry as well don't put away wet mould will grow tight lines brother.
LFG @ approx 10:30-11mins; take one of your 'Quick grip' clamps, reverse it (which then makes it into a spreader) a few pumps on the grip, and voila! (I think that must be french for 'there ya go')😉👍🤣🤣
You would need a 2x4 nearly the length of the cot for the clamp to press up against, otherwise the clamp wouldn't reach the other square tube to push against
a tip for cots inside tents is to keep some tennis balls around that you have cut a slit in. You can put the cot leg inside the tennis ball to prevent the leg from damaging the lining of the tent floor
Boil the hell out of the 1st batch of coffee to season the percolator. Also, and a lutthe cold water after brewing. Any grinds will drop to the bottom. I use my percolator daily. Just rinse and set aside. Best coffee EVER!!
Since you already grind your own coffee just get a french press to make your camp coffee. Those perk pots require quite a bit of watching to prevent boil over and takes considerable time to brew a decent pot of coffee. French press; just boil water, dump it in the press, let it steep for a couple minutes and pour.
Right now I'm using a French press cause it was 5 bucks and the percolator I want cost bucks. French press also took up less room in my fishing tournament setup so that was a added plus. But percolators are better cause more coffee and stay hot longer. Great video, next replacing heater with mini wood stove.
Friendly advice, find something to stick under the legs of the cot. After a while theyll put holes in the floor of your tent... I bring a few connecting floor pads like you find for a gym floor... They come in packs at Walmart and are a pretty cheap fix.
when using the buddy heater make sure you have proper ventilation, the smaller one doesn't have the low oxygen shutoff and technically not safe for indoor use. where as the big buddy does and is approved for indoor use
"A.I." monitoring, so I'm trying to watch your camping gear review and a G-Stove 30 minute camping ad pops up... they're watching us... Lol I've been looking for a stainless steel coffee percolator. I will check them out, thanks for the info. I never cook in "poison" aluminum. Cast Iron or stainless steel only. BTW my grandma gave me a 9x9 canvas tent in 1970 from Sears & Roebuck it lasted for 20+ years. Canvas tents are Great. Had it been properly stored I would still have it, my error. The Coleman sleeping bag that she gave me at the same time I still have. It has made many trail rides & camping trips, a little faded but still like new. Great video review
NASCAR on water! I love it! I truly do! Chuckle chuckle ... by the way is anybody envisioning him needing a bigger truck yet? Hahaha! Maybe they'll have to have his and her trucks just to get all their stuff to the fishing / Campground
Best camp set up video ever ....u had me laughing all through it.... your comments and second looks at OSG were great ..... looking forward to your first fish camp, hope you take Lunkers with you.... I am already laughing just thinking about the possibilities.
We have almost identical setups I too have a kodiak tent but mines a truck bed tent and then I also have a Mr buddy heater but use a airbed and just got done spending 4 day with most nights being around 25 degrees perfectly warm with shorts and tshirt in my tent and was warmer then the people in campers. Key tip get a little battery fan just to keep air moving
Looks fun, but I noticed you mentioned in your recent videos with LunkersTV that you tend to not have cooking/grilling utensils when you go camping with him. So I was surprised when I didn't see a good portable grilling kit on your list. Might be nice trying to flip meat on a grill with something other than a plastic fork, heh. Thanks for the videos!
JDS Outdoors has a few good videos on how to make battery boxes exactly like that. It's likely the guide that was used to make your box, since it uses the same components and similar placement.
Please read the instructions on the cot. There should be a red bar that goes on one side and makes it easy to set up. No stretching no grunting just roll into the place.
BAHAHAHA. I can't stop laughing from that combat ballerina side step when that tent fell on you!!!! Sometimes I make pretend your my best friend and act like I am there with you on your adventures. Is that weird? Keep Killing It, Brotato.
Love you and OSG..My daughter loves OSG..I'm hoping to get a fishin freak hat one day..being a single father makes the money a lil tight..lol..thanks for the vids

Great idea
Hey Justin, as for the coffee grinds pour just a smidgen of cold water in the pot . Helps them settle down to the bottom.
Tent advice, whatever size tent you think you need get the one that's double that size. You'll run out of room real fast.
"Luxury Doghouse"That's a first for me!👍You're quite the comedian!

Dude. I can smell that coffee all the way out in California. Got us Pumped over here!!!! Many Blessings Man.
LFG don't break your back!
Sweet tent!
Nice tent .....make sure the tent air vents are open when using that heater in the tent . as canvas tents seal up pretty well when wet.......butane heaters give off carbon monoxide and condensation when used .......happy camping ..peace
Make sure the tent is completely dry before storage . It will mold if not dried properly .
Justin, I apologize, its AAA Tent & Awning. They are thecompany that came out with the "Spring-bar" concept and made it Awesome! Check it out!
Use the nailing on the LFG on the wood wall as your intro going fwd. It's simple and quick.
Awesome to see something from Montana on your channel. Love it here, Montana is my home.
Use to love camping I'm too old now I need a nice bed, flannel sheets and plenty of down.
Glad to see you’re using the power box...if you need more power let me know and we’ll build you another one with enough juice to power a small town! 😎
12:55 I actually have that exact pillow. Whatever you do - do not put it in the drier! It clumps up and loses like half its volume.
(I think that must be french for 'there ya go')😉👍🤣🤣
so where would you put the other side of the clamp to spread?
Jeez bud that's quite the camping investment. Hope to see plenty of camping/fishing/hunting videos this year.
My sister got me a MECC hoodie for Christmas and it is the most comfortable hoodie I've ever had
Friendly advice, find something to stick under the legs of the cot. After a while theyll put holes in the floor of your tent... I bring a few connecting floor pads like you find for a gym floor... They come in packs at Walmart and are a pretty cheap fix.
The foam pads are the ticket. Also use a carpet on mine for easy clean up.
when using the buddy heater make sure you have proper ventilation, the smaller one doesn't have the low oxygen shutoff and technically not safe for indoor use. where as the big buddy does and is approved for indoor use
"A.I." monitoring, so I'm trying to watch your camping gear review and a G-Stove 30 minute camping ad pops up... they're watching us... Lol
I've been looking for a stainless steel coffee percolator.
I think adding a Honda putt-putt would be a pretty sweet addition. Only need a 2kw or so an it will power everything you need.
Best camp set up video ever ....u had me laughing all through it.... your comments and second looks at OSG were great ..... looking forward to your first fish camp, hope you take Lunkers with you.... I am already laughing just thinking about the possibilities.
Nice setup Justin. Looks real comfy.
That's a nice setup. I purchased a tent that goes in the bed of my truck at the end of last year and will use it for the turr life this year
Great video! I laughed out loud when you picked it up.....you should get Rob over an help you with that......what could possibly go wrong?!
You gotta make sure your tent is well ventilated when using those heaters! I have heard stories of people suffocating in their sleep.
Very nice camping set up there LFG!!
*Have a good'nnn*
I’ve never seen anyone put a tent together that fast before. Nice work
Looks fun, but I noticed you mentioned in your recent videos with LunkersTV that you tend to not have cooking/grilling utensils when you go camping with him. So I was surprised when I didn't see a good portable grilling kit on your list. Might be nice trying to flip meat on a grill with something other than a plastic fork, heh. Thanks for the videos!
We need merch with LFD on the cot in the George Kastanza pose! Ha! Great video
JDS Outdoors has a few good videos on how to make battery boxes exactly like that. It's likely the guide that was used to make your box, since it uses the same components and similar placement.
Love the camping and trout vids!!!!
Good to see a guy reading some directions.
that's a nice little setup. The only thing you're missing is a nice big thick steak. Hope all is well with the family keep up the great work
Please read the instructions on the cot. There should be a red bar that goes on one side and makes it easy to set up. No stretching no grunting just roll into the place.
There is but only on the lever version. They make two version of this cot, one with the lever and one without.
love you and your wifes content keep it up brother
Can confirm the cot and percolator are awesome.
BAHAHAHA. I can't stop laughing from that combat ballerina side step when that tent fell on you!!!! Sometimes I make pretend your my best friend and act like I am there with you on your adventures. Is that weird?
Keep Killing It, Brotato.
Live Love Fish that is creepy
@@heathk9581 Thats understandable Haha!!!!
Live Live Fish not weird. Must of us probably feel where buds with LFG or whomever we’re watching. ~ Texas
Not weird, I do to!
Love you and OSG..My daughter loves OSG..I'm hoping to get a fishin freak hat one day..being a single father makes the money a lil tight..lol..thanks for the vids
