Hi, John. Florida Girl here. The bug has bitten you. One week you are in the gator infested Everglades(did you see any pythons?) The next week you are on the Santa Fe River in N. Florida. Once those Florida bugs start bitting you, your truck won't leave FL. So happy to see enjoying beautiful Florida.
I was just there! My wife and I came down to Florida to visit my Mom in The Villages for Christmas. We were there the day after Christmas. We did the 8 springs in 8 miles.
The water is so clear there at the springs. Lots of good footage of bass and other species. A lot of my family members have trouble with migraine headaches. Not sure if that's what you have, but headaches are tough to deal with. Blessings on your new house. Pap Blevins
That was an awesome river float. Such a cool area. Some nice lookin Suwanee bass you got and Aaron’s red ear was nice too! And those big ol crappie! Love the underwater footage in that clear water!!!
I'm glad I watched your video. Catching that crappie you just made my day. Now I know that they are on the river. I think most of them are waiting on a big rain so they can push back into the creeks and in other ponds. Great video. I love the Suwannee and the Santa fe rivers.
Hey John instead of the small treble hooks you can swap them out with gamakatsu siwash open-eye hook from Bass Pro can either leave on the circle connector or take it off. From 10 all the way to 3/0. I swapped out all my rooster tails with #8 & #6 except my 1/2 oz. where I did mostly #2 some #4s. With the single hooks you could fish trophy trout streams in GA with single hooks.🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
Thank you for bringing is this video today John fishing with the best anglers sure is a motivation. If I want to become a better angler learning, watching and practicing it all but creating your own style! John thank you tight lines take care and God bless!
thisis where i got certified to dive was a great experience and only took a weekend. was so nice seeing those big fish while doing those boring check off dives.
Great video and great fishing and beautiful water!! Look like you guys had fun!! Congratulations!! Have a good day and week. Thank you for sharing. Take care and god bless.
Hey John,.....this is a gorgeous river to fish, as is the Suwannee. I'ver fished them both but years ago. We were mainly trying to catch the Bluegill on bed....only hit it one time, but we caught multiple males over 1lb. My buddy caught 2 that weighed over 1 1/2 lbs. I only caught one Suwannee Bass though. This place it so different to what we're used to that it's a treat to get to fish here. Good video man......thanks for sharing.
My family and I visited Manatee Springs a couple of years ago and we walked down to the Suwannee. There was gulf sturgeon jumping out of the water. It would be awesome to go back and fish that river.
I live in South GA and catch Suwanee all the time. Didn't know 14" was trophy size. Catch them every weekend. Gotta try some of those craw baits for sure! Thanks for the discount code!!!
Man i love your videos, but this one hit me differently lol i was just there fishing a day or two before, from rum island to 47 bridge and didnt catch anything at all with the the same baits 😂
Really pretty shots. I love the underwater shots. That water was so clear one could see forever. Were you in an area you did not have to worry about crocs or gators? You had your hand in the water more.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you, Sir. Keep making these great videos. I love this kind of video, the good Lord willing 🙏. 2025 I'm going to make the time in my life to enjoy doing things like this. Fun times.
I always change the hooks on the rebel craw that has helped with hookup ratio and I use straight mono that helps also Rebel craws are great for river fishing but IMO the hooks are garbage
Curious if that rod is a fast action or perhaps a bit stiff for the fish. I was watching when you were losing fish and often there wasn’t much flex in the rod. I’m a believer in the recommendation of a moderate action for treble hook lures.
Great Video! I have that Rebel Crawfish Lure, haven't used it, looks like I gotta give it a try, any retrieval tips with it? Also Congratulations with that Great Trophy size Suwannee Bass, You caught some Slabs Too!
I'm not sure how I got into kayak fishing, but I'm definitely intrigued in it. I'm not sure if I would want the small kayak you have, as I think I would want a little more space, maybe for storage as well, but I'm not sure. I'm also not the strongest so I'm thinking if I get one one day, I think I would tow it instead of trying to get it on the roof of my escape. Is yours pretty stable? Pretty safe? I've figured out you have been kayaking for a while now, and I think I saw you have videos talking about safety. Also, oh man, I recommend more underwater footage, that was awesome.

i get sooo peaceful watching you glide with the kayak and casting languidly. I could watch your videos with no words at all. Many days i cant think of anywhere I'd rather be... maybe play some soft classical music on a little speaker... That underwater footage makes you realize just how many fish may see your lure and never bite. Beautiful scenery. Blessings!
for real
Blessings too and happy holiday 🥳😊
Any plans for fishing 🎣 trips??

Cool underwater pics.
My family and I visited Manatee Springs a couple of years ago and we walked down to the Suwannee. There was gulf sturgeon jumping out of the water. It would be awesome to go back and fish that river.
Those suwannee bass are so cool! They almost look like a smallie and a spotted bass mixed together. Great video sir hope you had a good trip!
The Suwannee bass is like Floridas version of the mountains small mouth bass. They are only caught in the Suwannee river basin in Florida
Absolutely beautiful footage all the way through above ground and underwater. That was one big red ear that Aaron caught.
I think that redear had to have been my PB
Could watch underwater views all during lunch, thanks!
Blessings 🎉!! Happy holiday

Just found this channel and I absolutely love the content! Greetings from Bermuda.
Thanks for checking it out!
Over 14 inches or 1.5 pounds Suwannee bass is considered a trophy catch by the Florida Wildlife and Fish Conservation Commission.
Nice red ear😊
i went to the salt springs in florida one time and it looked like this underwater.
so verdant.
Great video, as always, awesome area, and love that camo hat.
Blessings 🎉!! Happy holiday

I bet you that spotted sunfish at 13:31 was a trophy. They only need to be 7 inches
Man i love your videos, but this one hit me differently lol i was just there fishing a day or two before, from rum island to 47 bridge and didnt catch anything at all with the the same baits 😂
That was cool looking with under water camera.
Cool fishing! Those crappie were slabs in my book for sure. Sounded like someone started bumped some speakers right there at the end. 😂

I’ve not been to Jenny springs yet. Alexander has a nice area for kayaks and fishing. Also salt springs.
cool cool
Where exactly are you at in this video. And is there a public camp area?
Been diving in that river several times, Monster alligator gar in that place.
I always change the hooks on the rebel craw that has helped with hookup ratio and I use straight mono that helps also Rebel craws are great for river fishing but IMO the hooks are garbage
John if I remember correctly the springs that feed the rivers down there keep a constant temperature in the mid 60s
they say the springs stay a constant 72 coming out of the ground
Blessings 🎉!! Happy holiday

Under water camera is nice.
The crappie get bigger down there too.

John, now you have us all in suspense: you say your new house will allow you to do different types of videos. What do you have in mind? Any hints?
