  • We have a wife here explaining to her husband why and how she or anyone else could step out of their relationship. Then we have another lady explaining the dynamics of her relationship with her husband. And the last one explaining why she broke off and engagement with a wonderful nice man.

“Everybody is capable of infidelity in the right circumstances”
My 90+ year old WW2 vet neighbor got married to his wife when he was 18. He went off to the war, came back, they built a business and a house. Raised 4 kids together and his wife passed away in 2020. Truly a gem of a woman. He was shifted to a nursing home and has a picture of his wife with him at all times to remind him of his love. Loyalty seems to be so hard for this woman.

Reread what you typed that she said. "The right circumstances". That man's wife was never in those circumstances, probably because she didn't let herself, like the woman at the start of the video. Loyalty doesn't just come from saying 'NO' but also comes from not being in the situation where you have to.

Your philosophy suggests that a person who is tempted will always remain tempted, temptation dies.
Not all men are created equal, we all have differing qualities and weaknesses. A quality of mine is that I will never do anything that goes against my moral compass. I am genetically pre programmed at birth to be this way and nothing can change it.
Bottom line, you tell me what I would do if this or that, you are wrong, period, bottom line, end of story.

Met on the engagement day, where we basically stood beside each other for three hours. Then started talking on phone, then a few months later got married. Never met in between. @@MatthewJarvis-zw2sz that's exactly my point, people like you like to pretend temptation doesn't exist, and people like you like to argue her facts because you want to hang out with women. I'm not saying simply hanging out with women one time you'll cheat but when the relationship start to become rocky and the women you are hanging out with start to show you more affection than your partner then the temptation Wil start to set in. The difference between this woman and you is she doesn't lie to herself.
All that being said what if she had no self control and she knows it but decided to take measures to protect herself from cheating? How is that in any way wrong or pathetic? In actuality we need people who know their weaknesses and take the right actions to protect themselves.

I see several comments about the first lady "not being loyal" because she might not say "no" or "not having self control"' but they don't realize that putting in the effort to not end up in the situation where she would have to say "no" in the first place IS her being loyal and implementing the means to control herself. She wants to be loyal so she's trying to minimize the possibility that she could even be tempted. Because she's not wrong. No matter how much you might deny it, IF... IF... the circumstances are right, you would cheat. You might regret it. But if you don't cheat, the circumstances weren't right. Your mindset, the situation, the person, the interaction, the state of your relationship, etc.

I think one can interpret her vocabulary in such a way that self cobntrol is one of potential boundaries one can set. it is the emotional control boundary and one can furthr argue that it can be seen as knowing the specifc boundary of self control and making sure ones actions are morally consistent even beyond that particular boundary by setting up others.

If you want to avoid infidelity, start by avoiding situations that may cause lustful thoughts/emotions to flare up. If you want to stay safe, start by avoiding dangerous places. If you want to reduce spending money, start by setting up a hard budget that you can't easily violate. So on and so forth. Self-control starts with thinking ahead of time.
