  • This is a 6 months update to my $399 enamel paint job of my 1994 Toyota Corolla. The enamel paint is still holding up well. I use Maguires wash and wax liquid soap to wash the car every week and I wax it every 3 months. I did not have my car painted at Maaco, I used Auto Painting USA. The total cost of my paint job ws over $900 because I needed the roof stripped to bare metal and minor bodywork. otherwise it would have been $399 because they used the lower cost enamel paint. Auto Painting USA charges $399 to paint a car with enamel that does not need additional prep work as mine did.

Looking good. An hour spent on those headlights with one of those 3M refinishing kits from Walmart will make a world of difference.

Those lights are so bad, I would just replace them. Probably dirt cheap on ebay or amazon.

Looks great! Ask your painter if it's safe for you to use a silicone based car polish. The best stuff I found is Nu-finish car polish. It lasts for about 6 to 12 months, repels water and dirt , is easy to apply, and looks great. Just be sure to wear rubber gloves when applying the polish as it's hard to wash off your hands.

Hey Sarge, I have heard of that, I think Scotty kilner uses it too. When my maguires runs out maybe I will give it a try. Thanks a lot for watching and commenting.

The interior has been bulletproof. Moving parts have wore out and the seatbelt and plastic door handles broke and 3 windows do not currently work but the cloth and plastic interior has been amazing.

I know, for years I had what I preferred to call 'natural' tinted windows.

Hello for, it still looks pretty good. There are a few bumps in the paint on the trunk that are rust the bubbles. I think there is a weld on the inside of the trunk that has gone bad and there is corrosion. It's had a hard place to get at. They are very small bubbles about the size for grain of rice. I also have one tiny little rust spot on the rear window frame area. I should be able to fix that one myself though.

How much prep work did you have to do

Yeah if he would of done all the prep himself it would of probably been a 399 deal but not everyone is capable of doing the body work and prep first
