I’ve cut my own hair for years now. The more you do it, the more confident you become with it. I got so tired of going and spending a ton of money and not liking the end result. I’d end up going home and “fixing” it myself. So I watched a bunch of TH-cam videos, and taught myself to cut my hair the way I want! Your cut looks great! ☺️😉

I have cut my hair a few times. I do the “gather it into a top of head ponytail” and cut kind of haircut. Then after I divide like you did and gather on each side to trim up. Comes out good enough until I can get to a professional.
It looks so good; I love it. I did look up that video that you watched and if I am getting more desperate I’ll probably try it if I can’t get into a saloon. I just have too much hair and luckily everything is opening up again so I’ll try to get my hair cut. But this came out so wonderfully and it was entertaining to watch.

You did an awesome job cutting your own hair. I use to have long thick coarse hair, but because of the medication I take my hair is super thin and soft now. It still grows super fast so I have now cut my own hair about 3 times at home now. I feel I don't have enough hair to justify going and paying for a haircut. The first time I cut it I did good. The second I just literally pulled it around to the front and chopped! Lol that was a bad idea. Would not recommend. The third time I tried something different and it turned out ok. I never worry too much because my hair grows back so quickly. 🙂

That came out so well. You are very clever, not to mention very brave. You are right about not cutting the bangs any shorter. I have found out the hard way that there is a point between a short fringe and longish bangs that is seriously annoying. I had my hair around that length once and after a few days of it poking me in the eye every time I bent forwards I lost my temper with it and cut the fringe short.

I ended up cutting my hair a month ago because it was quite damaged. I was surprised at how easy it is! Since I know what I want, I was able to give myself a better haircut than I've had in years! I followed the Pick up Limes tutorial for basic tips and a tutorial for fine hair from the Free Salon Education channel for my hair type. Yours looks great and it went a lot more quickly than my experience 👍🏻
So brave! I'm six months out from my last haircut and am finally starting to notice some splits. Might dry my hair curly one day and give myself a small trim, thanks to your courage!

Coming from a hairstylist, you did a great job Elle! I love to do cuts like these as my style tends to be more blunt unless someone requests otherwise and I’m a perfectionist.
Just curious- why a center part instead a a side part? I am a huge fan of the side part. Center parts have always felt more 1960s and more plain to me, but a side sweep is so classic.

Centre parts are really trendy at the minute, or at least they are here in the UK. Just about every girl I teach has a centre parting
