Heart is one of the most awesome bands of the 70's. I was hooked from the beginning. Ann's angelic voice and Nancy's incredible guitar work just take you away on a magical musical journey!
I'm so in love with Ann Wilson's voice that I could listen to her all the rest of my life. And she's actually a beautiful woman to me. You may not think so, but to me, she's beautiful.
_And for the briefest of moments, a return to happier days: sitting on the floor with big headphones on, album sleeve in hand, following along with the lyrics, being taken away into a dream with Annie & Nancy & the band._ Hello 1976. I remember you. ❤️
Isn't it amazing that a song can take you back so vividly that you can feel again exactly how you felt 45 years ago, even to the smell, taste and physical memories as well as the emotions of the heart. This band is one of those groups that do it for me every time.
Heart was my husband’s and my favorite band we called “our band” as was our first concert together at Portland Jam #1. We have seen them so many times I can’t count them all. Sadly my beloved passed 8 years ago and when I am really missing him I just have to listen to Magic Man and many other songs we knew were written just for us💕
The band recently upload vidros about that JAM concert or event 💗 Im 23yo and i would like so much to listen and see heart live You and your husband are so lucky
It Happens ALWAYS with me... NEVER LOST on you those memorys, and, continue to listen those lovely música in Memory of those good Times and ALSO TO GIVE YOU STRENG... For the future... God Bless you, big friendship Hug From Porto in Portugal 👍🙏🇵🇹
I wish there was an extended version of this song. I got goosebumps when it first came out. I’m 70 and I still do. There is such an ethereal sound to this and the lyrics I still keep coming back g up with what and who it’s referring to. As the years go by, meanings have changed. Thank you ladies and band.
I don't have the album, but also am 62, and the world we grew up in seems so long ago and completely foreign to today, that I sometimes wonder if I was ever there, or if it was real. They say it's not healthy to live in the past, but it's the only way from keeping my head from exploding.
The more you listen to the body of work Heart put out, the more you realize just how great they were and what an epic voice Ann Wilson has, one of the great rock bands of all time.
The intro to this song is one of the best I've ever heard. You're drawn into the beauty of the sound then the sudden complete change to the song itself. Done to perfection. Genius.
Truly . As a teen back then i saw them live, it was so powerful. Astounding musicians all around. Howard Leese here in the blue playing keyboard wow he played keys, guitar, sang.... the guy was quite a talent. all of them of course were
I find myself coming back to this video in particular because most online versions (Spotify, Apple Music) don't have the intro this video does. It's so well done, and Nancy deserves so much more praise for it.
SO VERY TALENTED - Both Ann & Sister Nancy .... Compose, Sing ..... Play ..... shear competence alone blows you away .... and the quality of the songs backed by musicians absolutely awesome !!! Yes. Loved them always. GBjj
To borrow a line from a movie " There is iron in your words." Ann and Nancy are still and always have been two of the most beautiful women in Rock & Roll. And to top it off they are both kindred spirits. I thank them both for all they have done for us.
This performance blows so many modern performances away. It is just astonishing. It's so good. And the little snare-hats intro, and the banjo...just fantastic.
For a band that can that can rock out with the best of them, Heart has ballads like this that are absolutely beautiful. I love Nancy's intro and the harmonies between the Wilson sisters. Also, the mandolin part adds a nice feel.
I remember getting a little AM radio and hearing this song as I walked home from school in the late spring and indian summers of the Fraser Valley , BC. Such good memories triggered by this song. Definitely a trademark sound of the 70's for me.
Saw them performing at Manchester's Salford University in the 70s on the College Circuit. Standing six feet from the stage gawping at these lovely ladies. Fell in love with them straight away💖Had the privilege of meeting them later. What marvelous lovely people. Their music has stayed with me ever since. How time flies and there still going strong. Love them. Happy Times🎸💖
Back in the 80's, I left home to drive cross country by myself. Started the car, pushed an 8 track tape and the next thing I heard was "Heading out this morning, into the sun............." I loved this song ever since.
I grew up in Issaquah WA. Went to Issaquah High School and graduated in 85. Loved going to the Bumbershoot in Seattle watching all the up and coming bands. Keep Rocking Heart. Love you guys.
By the time the album Dreamboat Annie was released in September of 1975, that "2:50 rule" for airplay had gone the way of the Dodo bird with the rise in popularity of FM radio. The two songs that were hits from that album and still get played often on Classic Rock radio, Magic Man, and Crazy on You, clock in at 5:28 and 4:53 respectively. Magic Man, the longest of the 3 singles (as well as the first single released) reached #9 on the Billboard charts. Crazy on You, the 2nd single released, reached #35, while Dreamboat Annie, released 3rd, only reached #42 on the charts. There are actually 3 Dreamboat Annie songs on the album Dreamboat Annie; Dreamboat Annie (Fantasy Child), Dreamboat Annie, and Dreamboat Annie (Reprise) Those songs run 1:10, 2:02, and 3:50, respectively. People are far too confident in their knowledge (or lack thereof) on most topics.
I have always known that Ann is one of the greatest vocalists. I most often thought of her vocal range to belt out powerful songs, and hit high notes. What always attracted me to Karen Carpenter was the smoothness of her voice, and the spine chilling low vocal ranges. Never noticed it before with Ann until this song, which is so smooth, and boy, those low notes! Wha a knock out in her early years as well!
Yes: I have often thought of the two singers similarly. Once one gets past the different styles/genres, there are the common traits: smooth timbre, vocal control, lyric nuance. They are my two favorite female voices in popular music.
So today was the first time I heard this song. I have Heart albums and listen to their music but have been kinda avoiding this song for some reason, I'm weird like that sometimes. God, this song's fantastic. And yes, I also had an immediate picture of Karen Carpenter in my head as the lyrics started flowing, funny that.
Ann Wilson "The Voice" nobody does her stuff better. 🥰 Last night 07/21/23 she sang at the Salina, Ks. Stiefel Theatre and the place rocked. 👩 Thank you Ann and the great band. Ann looks like the Starbucks's icon girl. 😍
Wow how did I get back to here? I was listening to Jason Isbell and this dreamy song from my past just popped up . I was a little young lady all over again. I had forgotten what a beautiful song this is.
While reading their book I realized how much we had in common growing up. I performed, recorded and toured with local rock bands in Nashville during high school and college, never achieving the level of success they earned. Their music always inspires me when I play a CD or DVD with Heart. Love and hugs from Nashville to Ann and Nancy Wilson!
That's Fing magic right there. Computers will never duplicate that. Not in a million years. I remember being a little kid and buying Barracuda 45 from the Drug Store in Yakima Washington. That was the summer of life.
Nice version of this with a little bit of Silver Wheels at the beginning. I like some of the live versions of Dreamboat Annie when Ann plays a flute solo at the end:)
Be still my heart...here's where it all began. I can still remember sitting in my room with my plastic record player and this album and being taken away to a magical and beautiful place.
I saw you when this album came out mississippi river festival at siue , excellent, anne i sang small time you were always one of the most powerful singers
As a player, I was always playing so seldom got to go to concerts or the big outdoor events. But I did get to go to one at Georgia Tech, must have been 70's or 80's. Heart, Foreigner and Cheap Trick headlined. Cheap trick really did not sound that good and I wasn't familiar with their music and so was a bit bored. But then Heart came on. Not only were they traffic, their actual sound was very good. A combination of great players and singers and a great sound man. But then Foreigner came on and their sound was almost as good, but their singer was extraordinary! I have never been so captivated by a singer live as I was Lou Gramm. But both bands were well worth the trip! I mean after all Ann Wilson? I think so! Both were great. But there was just something about Lou that I'll never forget.
I've been in love with them 50 years , Big time , Anne you're the 1 , my favorite all time by a mile, Luvvvvvvvvvv uuuuuuhhhhhhh and Nancy of course , Luvvvvvv uuuuuuhhhh toooooooo
I've always loved Heart. I got to meet you in Atlanta in the mid 70's at the Omni Arena. I knew the drummer for the opening band Walter Egan and had backstage passes.
🙂Ann and Nancy hello from Kirkland Washington. Thanks for being a part of my childhood. We probably shopped at the same stores and hung out at the same beach 🤭Juanita
I've listened to Heart most of my life, listening to this just now, I realized just how unreal Ann's voice is to Karen Carpenters, which I've always regarded as the best ever.
I could listen to Ann Wilson sing the dictionary. Most beautiful voice I've ever heard. And I'm 64 years old. Been a diehard fan since highschool.
Likewise
Graduated in 76 right there with your buddy
Beautiful song

She was objectively attractive before she got obese
No, she's very beautiful, you are absolutely correct! Love that 70's look her & her sis had!
She is gorgeous
of course she is
She's one of the hottest women of 20th century. She's so beautiful that weights no matter. What you hear is what you get. Rock Goddess.

God bless you dear friend.I love you.

One of my most favorite songs in the entire world!
This had to be one if the best acoustic tunes if the 70s. I still listen to the album, Vynil.
Me too!
Vinal all day long. Great album ❤❤❤!!
An angelic voice if ever there was . Ann is absolutely Devine and powerful all at one. There is no equal.
I'm 62 years old. Still have the Vinyl Album
Dream Boat Annie! Damn, i miss the good
old days! 💜💜💜

And bonus, we were young.
Me too (vinyl album and miss the good ole days)!
Don't we all. Life was better than we thought.
The more you listen to the body of work Heart put out, the more you realize just how great they were and what an epic voice Ann Wilson has, one of the great rock bands of all time.
Such a beautiful performance from two of the most gorgeous women ever.
Dude. You need to get your eyes checked.

I find myself coming back to this video in particular because most online versions (Spotify, Apple Music) don't have the intro this video does. It's so well done, and Nancy deserves so much more praise for it.
One of the top female guitarists ever.
It seems that history is absolutely determined that she be forever under-rated. It's irritating.
Sorry for what I did. Sorry for what I did.
And easy on the eyes too.
By far
She was not mentioned in Rolling Stone's Hundred Greatest Guitarists. It is beyond me why she was snubbed.
SO VERY TALENTED - Both Ann & Sister Nancy .... Compose, Sing ..... Play ..... shear competence alone blows you away .... and the quality of the songs backed by musicians absolutely awesome !!! Yes. Loved them always. GBjj
Ann is the best female rock singer to this day🙌🏼
Gonna agree for that!👍
Pat Benatar would like to have words with you.
My favorite rock singers are Alia O’Brien, Jasmin Saarela, Johanna Sadonis, Guernica Mancini, and Alexandra James.
She’s the female Robert Plant. Coo like a dove (here) or wail like a Banshee (Barracuda). Just magnificent!
@Joe Paul I go back and forth between her and Linda Ronstadt WRT my personal favorite.
Nancy Wilson is a dreamboat.. 40 years later and shes is still the most beautiful, hottest, sexiest, most talented and bestest .
This shows how well people used to sing, compared to recent years. Thanks Ann, and Nancy and Howard for helping us remember with this.
Ann Wilson is a true beauty.
To borrow a line from a movie " There is iron in your words."
Ann and Nancy are still and always have been two of the most beautiful women in Rock & Roll. And to top it off they are both kindred spirits. I thank them both for all they have done for us.
A raven beauty..
Natural beauty, not the fake stuff of today’s chicks.
They both are ✌️
Yes Perfect
This performance blows so many modern performances away. It is just astonishing. It's so good. And the little snare-hats intro, and the banjo...just fantastic.
Yes pretty damn good I heard them walking through the south west Washington fair.
Yes it is beautiful
Yes, very creative. Talented musicians! 🪕🪕
Listening and watching this performance gives me the goosebumps and nostalgic feeling.❤
So amazing, I saw them when I was 16 years old in Vancouver
I just turned 60 on july 4th 2024
From a time when there were so so few distractions, unlike today
Happy Birthday 🎂 🧙🏼♂️

I have ALWAYS though this tune to be entirely too short. It should have another verse. I love this song by them.
Yes! Wouldn’t it be cool if the added a verse or two now!
I was just thinking the same thing. I don't want it to end.
I grew up in Issaquah WA. Went to Issaquah High School and graduated in 85. Loved going to the Bumbershoot in Seattle watching all the up and coming bands. Keep Rocking Heart. Love you guys.
The only complaint I have about this song is it is WAY too short!
right click loop mode
Back when radio ruled , they tried to enforce a time limit on songs and got away with it, and artists needed DJs to play their songs
A bridge, extended lyrics perhaps...
I agree!

This is 70's Heart, at their best. Then they went all 80's.
I've always loved Heart. I got to meet you in Atlanta in the mid 70's at the Omni Arena. I knew the drummer for the opening band Walter Egan and had backstage passes.
Now that's talent! Wow! They sound great.
