- Heart is an American rock band formed in 1970 in Seattle, Washington by Steve Fossen (bass guitar), Roger Fisher (guitar), David Belzer (keyboards), and Jeff Johnson (drums). It evolved from an existing band, White Heart. Since 1973 the vocalists for Heart have been sisters Ann Wilson (lead vocals, flute, guitar) (born June 19, 1950) and Nancy Wilson (vocals, guitar, mandolin) (born March 16, 1954). Over Heart's history, it has had three primary lineups.
Heart first found success when its members moved to Canada, in part to avoid the draft, then later in the United States, and ultimately worldwide. Heart rose to fame in the mid-1970s with music influenced by hard rock and heavy metal, as well as folk music. The band's popularity declined in the early 1980s, but they launched a successful comeback in 1985 which continued into the 1990s, releasing numerous hard-rock songs and ballads. Heart disbanded in 1998, then resumed performing in 2002. In the summer of 2019, Heart ended their 2016 acrimonious break-up by launching their "Love Alive" tour.
To date, Heart has sold over 35 million records worldwide, including over 22.5 million in album sales in the U.S. They have had top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 in the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2010s.

I was a senior in high school when this song debuted. Who would have thought we lived in the best of times back then. Heart still has our heart.

Absolutely. Without question Anne is my favorite female singer ever. Her voice is literally magic. Interestingly both play guitar but Nancy picked it up better than Anne did so she sang. Both are crazy talented and deserve their place in the hall of fame.

Bother sisters just appeared on the Howard Stern Show recently and sang Magic Man.
My husband and I are seeing them in one week in Tulsa, OK. Excited! I grew up listening to them in the late 80s though. Alone, These Dreams, Never, Stranded,etc. Not familiar with their 70s music. Need to listen more before we go.

I discovered Heart during the 80s as a kid; then my Mom intro'd me to their music from the 70s and I have to say, I loved it even more! Heart has always been one of my favorite rock bands, and I'm glad we can find their music here on YT. It had been years since I heard this and I must've listened to it a hundred times since then. I still think Barracuda is my favorite, but this is a very close second!

Magic Man was the song that put Heart on my radar as a kid. Even on a crappy AM/FM clock radio, it was special. Then I saw Ann Wilson on the Midnight Special and thought I'd seen the most beautiful and talented woman in the world, better looking than I dared dream listening on that clock radio.

i was a little kid. Came of age in 1980( 15 years old) Heart was a band i came to know of gradually. My bands were Abba( They remind me of Heart some) Lover boy,,I grew up on 70s and early 80s music. I stopped listening to the top 50 about 83 because of my christian faith. Music stoppped in time for me Not long ago , I tried to listen to some top modern hits and i was disgusted. Back to the 70s and early 80s for good.

My Uncle loaned their Barracuda album back right after it came out. I''d never heard of Heart at the time. Needless to say he never got it back. Love at first sight!
