Good job! This brings back some good memories when I had a JX110 and converted it into a CG125 ;) Not sure if a original CG125 has 5 or 4 speed drivetrain, but what I did in the past was that I took the drivetrain from GL100 and swapped to my JX110. Then I oversized the cylinder bore to that of 125 cc and using the Wing 125 piston kit. Anyway, the contact point was a pain to keep up with, so I replaced it with DIY 2-units CDI system (like one in Suzuki RC110) and never had to change spark plug ever. Now I wish I could have that bike again!
Hey, thank you! Sounds like a great project you had :) Mine has a 5speed, not sure about the earlier models. I am considering a CDI upgrade in the future but I quite like the simplicity of points ignition, although it’s more maintenance 😁 did you find it made a noticeable difference when you upgraded?
Hi boss I have a motorcycle Honda tmx 155 contact point model,, Can I ask,,what is the good resistance of primary stator coil?...of that motor check 125.... Maybe I can compare to my motor primary stator coil resistant,,
I would say that the primary coil is ok as the bike starts. You can check the voltage output when the bike is running and it should read around 6v to the ignition coil. I would do the basics, serving, valve clearances and ignition timing and see how you get on after that 👍🏼
This is perhaps one the best videos on contact breaker ( Ignition system) on utube. Can you do more videos on the Honda CG on how to restore and maintain one.

Great vid. Subscribed. Going to try the same with my 1975 honda cb125s
nice one ...clear and informative. Helping me alot.
Honda cg 125 primary coil resistance reading plss😊...
Have you considered converting to a CDI system ?
I have indeed, might make a video about it soon if I can find the parts I’m looking for 😊
@@TurnersWorkshop97 Have you converted it to CDI yet i have a 77 bike with a 92 br engine and i would like a guide on how to do it

I doubt my primary stator coil is broken...
Because, when the engine is hot the engine shut down,, and hard to start again...

Thanks man 😊🙏🏻
Thanks 😊!
No problem 😊
