Interesting thing about the Scalextric Z28 Camaro as shown in this video... The Camaro (1:1scale) is a car made in America, but as far as I know, Scalextric has yet to do one in this configuration that has actually raced in America. And yes, at least one such animal does exist. I have 40 photos of it, including enough views and detail shots that they could actually model the car. In fairness to Scalextric, the car may be the only car matching the tooling that does race in America, but It would still be nice to see a model of it produced, since the tooling already exists. And another hint for the Scalextric product planners - they could use the same chassis, windows and interior with a new body molded with flared fenders and aero add-ons, plus wider wheels and tires to produce the Generation 2 Camaro IROC cars and quite a few other American race cars that used essentially the same body. And speaking of IROC cars, have you noticed that the Gen 3 Camaro IROC car has only been produced in three liveries, one of which was the IROC body with a TransAm car livery on it? I wonder if the product planners know that the later IROC car shares its body shape with a horde of short track stock cars racing on oval tracks all over America since 1982. Many of these cars were driven by famous or soon to be famous drivers including Dale Earnhardt Senior and Junior, Alan Kulwicki, Gary St.Amant, Mike Garvey, Darrell Waltrip, Neil Bonnett, Dave Mader, Sterling Marlin, Butch Lindley, Bobby and Davey Allison, Joe Shear, Rusty and Kenny Wallace, Butch Miller, Scott Hansen, Bob Senneker, Dick Trickle, and Gary Balough, plus many more.. Will we someday see these cars produced? Scalextric has the tooling; all they really need is to research the liveries. I have reference photo sets for 37 of them, and I would very much like to talk with someone from Scalextric marketing/product planning if they are interested. All they need to do is reply to this comment with contact information and I'll get in touch. If, of course, they watch videos like this one. I certainly hope they do.
the scalextric camaro is nice but they are missing out if they would do more stock ones like the silver Z28 version in more colors like the real ones came in like black, brown, blue, white , maroon and stuff they would sell like crazy here in the USA don't know why they don't make them!
Just so you know Travis that when I hit the bell it doesn’t come up just thought I’d tell you and everybody else that is doing that and the great videos but it gets blocked for some reason 😊
Thanks for the shout out Trav. Heaps more billboards to come.
