I haven't seen mageseeker gameplay in any way outside of the trailer no not even in this vid cuz i had it as background sound while i play league but i am interested in seeing more of demacia how it's structured the story seems interesting and how demacia and its troops look in general plus sylas is one of my favourite champs either way I'm buying the game next monts
I'm a big fan of the studio that made the game and the Sylas Lore and what it did for Demacia's lore overall

I was just excited to see a game where Morgana wasn't forced to be the "evil" sister like in all the skin universes. Showing kayle in the more negative light is really cool.
But Kayle is the villain in almost every single skinline she has, especially the newer ones. Showing Kayle as mad or overly zealous isn't anything new lol
I love the fact that they finally gave a reason for why Morgana cannot just pop up in Demacia

The entire point of Kayle is that this type of absolute justice is incredibly destructive. Her authoritarian, unmoving justice is just a weapon of oppression, which is why Demacia, also authoritarian oppressive villains, prefer her.
Morgana, the understanding, compassionate HUMAN of the sisters is the superior, more understanding, more fair, more helpful justice.
Even if Morgana isn't perfect, Kayle is a flat-out villain.
I loved the way Morgana and Kayle were portraied, and how the rebellion family shaped Sylas
I absolutely love how mageseeker recontextualized Sylas and the entire demacian civil war into a new perspective rather than the whole “Sylas is secretly evil 😱😨😰” that they did with the lux comic. Sylas deserves to not just be “evil badguy” for how interesting his story and character is and I sincerely hope that Riot takes him in that direction with future lore.

the pixel art of this game is amazing, seeing so many champions i have known for so long again in a completely different context is always amazing. the spell stealing aspect is implemented really well and sylas became a really interesting character in an even more interesting story. im really glad riot forge is making these kinds of games possible.
Honestly seeing them translate the kit of a moba character into a fully playable action character was really interesting, and I cant wait to see how they handle this in the future, potentially in the mmo or Project L.
I already loved Sylas' whole gimmick of beating someone with their own powers, so that mixed with the fast paced action of a hack and slash game. It's a match made in heaven
I love the fact they've made sylas not a boring "enemy" and they've given him some depth of character. like Jesus they really had a great idea with making him a rebel against demacia but they just made him look like a murderer and not a freedom fighter

@@alonymelony8047 I find him boring now because he was a gray character in League. His cause was right, but he was also the worst possible person to carry it out, kind of like Silco (or any revolution in history).
Now, what reason does anyone have to NOT side with Sylas? Not killing Jarvan? I like him, but that's the only conflict left, the only reason why anyone would oppose the rebellion.
It's also painfully obvious that after Riot milks their current Demacia setting, the next phase will be Jarvan being exiled, why not finish this story in mageseeker when everyone already knows how this goes. Sylas wins, he forgives everyone but Jarvan who has to run away, Jarvan learns humility and returns to demacia to help the new goverment fight the new threat.
i was really excited to see morgana displayed in the way she’s MEANT to be portrayed bc she’s always been shown as a villain and kayle being a selfless hero and amazing for demacia and blah blah blah justice boner. i love morgana and especially how her dynamic with her sister shows the duality of both lawful justice and compassionate justice that’s just *chef’s kiss*

Kayle has definetly not been shown in that light much at all. If anything, the online community's perception has seriously been hurt by how much they've exaggerated her villainy. Morgana is great and was problably the best part of this game tho.
I want to point out Demacia being this way is BECAUSE of Sylas. The rewrote Demacia's lore because some loser at riot wanted him to be an "anti-hero"
And make Demacia something more than generic good guy kindom
@@bartagame_3070 Most "good guy" kingdoms all have the same trope of one generation of greatness followed by multiple generations of oppression and squander. Demacia is interesting in the fact that it didn't go down that line. On top of that people forget their response to other nations while they did everything for their citizens they didn't give a flying crap about the rogue barbarian tribes that Ashe and Tryndamere were fighting. They actually hindered them in their pursuits in their attempt to fix the situation.
i'm so excited to see the story of one of my favourite champions (Sylas and Morgana) and see older champions look a little more polished than in league.
Garen is in a perpetual state of buffering, i main the character and it spreads to you aswell.
I was excited to see more of Sylas' interactions with other mages after the rebellion. I'm glad Riot didn't try to treat him like a villain in this.

Finally, the character fighting against the imprisonment, torture, enslavement and murder of mages JUST FOR EXISTING is being portrayed in a good light
i don’t like how the portrayals of violent uprising against abjectly horrible regimes by sylas is bad. on a smaller scale, seraphine had this issue of toothlessly unifying two states (and zaun is legitimately just being oppressed and it’s not a matter of ‘unification’ but fixing the systems) and i didn’t like these flat, centrist portrayals, so mageseeker is legitimately awesome! like i don’t really like lux’s position in the narrative so sometimes centering the whole mage/magic being stuff on her feels…wrong?
@@sleepyrose69 I think Garen is a good character to represent this. A good man, blinded by years of brainwashing. He has the ability to change, but it won't be quick. Sylas here is great because he went from a genuinely terrible representation of fighting against abhorrent systems into someone who just needed to learn he wasn't helping the people that mattered.
yeah exactly! garen is a great exemplar of someone misguided and someone sort of cowed or herded into taking any stance, and that needs to be deconstructed and taken apart. both lux and garen are really interesting characters in the mage rebellion--but only, and only if they aren't treated like moral superiors to sylas.@@justv7536

The end goal of a rebellion and uprising is to change society for the better. I was really charmed about all the interactions of the characters, they really make you feel the most realistic thoughs and feelings of them

@@danielgomes175 Xin is the worst offender in this case. He vowed on his life to protect king Jarvan III (he FAILED lmao) and he's supposed to be Jarvan IV's "best friend", yet after ALL the events in Mageseeker, he's still nowhere to be found. Hell, i don't remember him even being mentioned.

I was honestly so excited to see the continuation to Sylas’ story. His escape was one of my favourite stories in Runeterran lore and I really want to see where his story goes after this
I was simply excited to see our beloved champions interacting with each other. They always do a good job with character development in any form of league Media.
I'm just excited to follow literally whatever Riot Forge releases! They are pretty much holding up my interest for the League universe. Not only do they bring in a lot of lore and changes to established characters, they are also just releasing damn good games
I just loved the 'othef side' perspective. Seeing the events and "ending" in Jarvan's and Lux's side of view. Always gives you the whole picture, so you can choose between the sides.
I'M SO EXCITED TO SEE HOW MORGANA IS IN GAME and more voice line bits ! The J4 boss fight looks insane too.
As soon as they announced a sylas game, my brother just exploded from excitement, main reason being sylas is one of his favourite champions ( after zed ) but when he knew it wasn't gonna be for free, that excitement melted faster than an ice cream on a hot summer day, so it would be a great gift for him and I would really appreciate it ( especially after I broke our mouse last week )

I like the story behind mageseekers. I watched a edited video with the all the cutscenes of the game to keep up with the lore. It really does a lot to make your root for the character. Would love to see how the gameplay holds up with themes of the story.

I haven’t played it yet, but I am super excited to see the story. I have been waiting to see more of the mage revolution. I love Lux’s story so much, and shes in such a unique position and her relation ship to Sylas is just so complicated and I love it. I know this is about him, but I kinda want Lux to be publicly revealed as a mage and make Garen choose a side publicly. I know he is devoted to Demacia but I can’t imagine that he would turn on his sister. I want them to advocate for change through peace instead of Sylas’s destruction. It would also mirror some historical events.
what made me interested in this game is just that i like video games that can be played in multiple ways, from the detailed difficulty settings to STEALING OTHER PEOPLE'S POWER, especially that i started playing alot of games lately with the same art style *pixely or what ever you call it* so yeah i really hope i win and good luck for every one
I'm excited to see Demacia's lore explored more, especially from the point of view of mages, their sworn enemies.
I was mostly happy to see Morgana, loved every story bit with ther (and Kayle) and seeing how they developed Sylas throughout the game was MMM so good,
Alright, I was really excited for the lore of it! Sylas's lore was already quite interesting to me, and what Mageseeker did really pleased me. They're did quite a nice job and I just want to see it done like that more often as league hasn't been focusing on the lore.
I did really like the detail at the end of the game how Jarvan did disband mageseekers and made the city Lux is overseeing be a safe haven for mages and how Garen changed his ideal because he realized he should care more about his sister than that of his home.
It shows change can happen, you just need to accept it and let it happen. Also Sylas taking Rayn as a foster daughter was very cute to see.
Kind of want a remnant of mageseekers as a Champion, someone who will continue Eldred and Wisteria's twisted legacy believing all mages must die for them to be freed from the cruel world they live in.
Seeing something like Mageseeker and Convergence gets me excited for the expanded lore aspect, it’s one of the reason I got into and continue to play league. I love that they are touching upon this aspect in different ways, styles and overall though different game genres.
Honestly, I was so excited for more storytelling about Sylas. Just the fact we got to learn more about him is amazing!
I LOVE that we got attention in all this demacian Revolution part of their lore , which is the BEST part of demacian lore, and thats EXCITED ME.
I’m excited to finally see all of the older characters done justice like jarvan, garen, etc. I’m also ready to see what insane shit someone who can steal magic can do in a place where people like shyvana.

Ever since Sylas was released, ive been very interested in him as a character and all of the lore connected to him.
Demacia is such a brutal place in its own unique way with how they handle mages.

I was excited to see the how they would merge the gameplay and the lore of the league universe, turns out they made it really cool. And i also wanted to see new morgana lore after some long time

im a sucker for pixel art games and this reminds me of a game called jack move, both modernize the pixel art style of old times and thats what really draws me in, along with the fact that the gameplay looks sick af!
I absolutely love the art style of this game. Super detailed sprite work and pixel art is just so impressive to me.
I'm so excited to be able to move through a world other than summoner's rift again. There are hundreds and hundreds of awesome fantasy environments that exist in Runeterra and Demacia is one of the first regions that had been fleshed out back in the early days of the game. Sylas is a perfect lens to experience the dark side of such a 'clean, polished' society. I'm so happy that they're continuing to build more of the League world.
I just want to play the mageseeker and know the story after Sylas broke out first hand, not just through someone else's gameplay.

Dang. i was kinda on the fence about playing this but you have convinced me I need to play it.
I loved how they finally decided to actually pick a side instead and how they developed each character
I'm glad they took the chance to finish fleshing out Sylas's character in this game, as he needed it more than many champions with similar issues. that said, I find that both you and many people fundamentally misrepresent or misunderstand Demacia as a whole. most of the people of Demacia are either unaware of the extent of the horrors actually being done to the mages, and the evils of "Demacia" is more so just the majority of the mageseekers and several of the more radical nobles. it's also important to at least understand why Demacia is so scared of mages, even if it doesn't make their treatment of them right. they are not the "league equivalent to Nazis" by any stretch of the imagination, they are a nation built on an extreme fear of mages due to the horrors inflicted on not only their nation, but Runeterra as a whole, during the rune wars and the many mages who used their power to oppress those around them. Noxus and Demacia were largely both effected horribly by that past, but where Demacia sought to lock away magic(akin to the Templars in Dragon age), Noxus instead sought to control it and conducts many horrific experiments and raise child soldiers to be strong magic forces to help Noxus be even stronger. to paint Noxus as anything better than Demacia shows you don't know the lore of both of them. they are absolutely equals with 2 different radical Ideals. it worked with Sylas being a villain, it just didn't make Demacia right, however with the nature of league lore the progression to that story was put in stasis until extra content like this came out. Demacia needed a revolution, just not the one Sylas was bringing, and that was the way the story has been framed since his release. thankfully they did choose to push the story forward by having him realize this.
I mean, I think the main thing I am looking forward to in Mageseeker was them fixing or strongly improving Demacia's lore. When the big lore change happened, turning Demacia from a "city of the good guys" into a place where mages and magical beings are persecuted for doing nothing wrong sounds like it leads to an interesting conflict, but it was very strange how the very heroic Demacia was now bunch of assholes who looked nice and pretty, but did nothing to help the oppressed around them + some members of the persecuted group who were relatively safe due to their proximity with authorities (Lux, Sona and Shyvana) and when they finally made a villain, the villain was the guy who wanted the mistreatment of mages to end? How is that guy a villain? He is the one doing the right thing, its like Riot forgot that this story has parellels to real life. Maybe they don't turn Sylas into an totally nice guy in the end, but it seems like they at least acknowledge that he is right in what he does and Demacia is in the wrong for their persecution. This is what makes me excited, lore being fixed and solidified through a cool game and things making sense in lore again (like, making oppressed groups' leaders as villains is a terrible implication).
I am excited to see league lore in game rather than on a website. Like, i know all this stuff is really cool, i just wish i could experience it more in a game designed to give you a cool story.
Mageseeker is a game that I won't be able to play because of having a PC of my own, so I'm pretty thankful that you made a video like this.
Sylas felt like has a lot of potential to further the story of Demacia, so it gives me joy to see they didn't do him dirty in the game

I love the fact that this game is actually centered around the lore, thats it. LOR and LOL are only using the characters in the universe but it can live without the story.
I was (and still am) excited for the characters and the environment. Demacia may be, or have been, after the events of the game, a place full of ignorance and pain, covered below the shiny exterior and false righteousness the region offers (thing I must admit I find to be brilliant, no pun intended). Even through all of that, Demacia is a wonderful place. The fauna and flora are just fantastic. The animals and plants are beautifully designed. I adored their uniqueness and, specially, their connection with magic. The fact that almost all wild/tamed animals and plants you find make use of one type of magic brings the idea that Demacia once were a place full of magic, on its most wild state (just after the rune wars) to life. A place where even the trees could blast you with some nature magic if they wanted. Plus, the baby silverwings are cute af.
And, do I even have to say something about the characters? Every single one of them serves a purpose. And a beautiful one, that is. Leilani is personally my favourite, and I would dare to say that her death was the thing that pushed Sylas to finally change, and transform into the leader he was always meant to be. How the world reacts to her death, and how Sylas starts to draw his strength not from revenge, but from hope. And it's the same with every other character. Rukko, and how he represents a child's lost innocence. Same thing that happened with Sylas, when he accidentally killed that mage girl when he was young. Gideon is another example. At the start of the game, Sylas would've killed him on sight. But strangely, Sylas was one of the few that believed in him when he arrived at the camp.
I loved the storytelling, the enviroment and the characters. Every single thing has a purpose in this game. Whether to be loved (Leilani and the band), or hated (Fuck you, Hesbeth).
Really like action and pixel story driven games, they feel really well written and somewhat charming~
Sylas is just one of my favorite champs because idk everything about him is just so cool. I haven’t played Mageseeker yet but I really want to. I love expanding the lore of a character and the world they live in, especially through their own spin-off game.
Honestly the gameplay is what makes me want to play the most. League lore is a great bonus

The mageseeker released during the period when I was studying for exams and so I had no time to keep up with it. But from the bits I saw it seems like an awesome game with an equally awesome story which I would love to explore once my exams are over. Also, I love your content. ❤
As a Morgana main, I just saw the chains in tralier and that is enough reason for me to play this game.
I love that the game expands the characters (not only the champions but all allies and enemies), giving them motives, goals and/or desire towards what they believe is the rigth cause.

I was looking forward to quench the thirst from the absolute lore drought that happened in 2022. Mageseeker didn’t disappoint. Though I do wish Fiddlesticks and Nocturne could have been more prominent besides having a passing mention and a cameo.

The thing that really made me hyped for mageseeker is how they couldve elaborated on sylas, lux and morgana. I like their lores a lot but i feel like they are all kind of flat and not explored enough. With mageseeker we had a really cool opportunity to see these characters interact and develop and i LOVE what they did to morgana
I'm just excited for more lore and world building. Runeterra has so many great stories, yet the Rift boils them all down to singular personalities and moments. But side games like Mageseeker allows multiple characters to shine and be fleshed out, without the toxicity prevalent on the Rift.

I've finished my playthrough of Mageseeker, trying to get a friend to try it out.
Mageseeker was a very nice little game. I'm not super good at the genre of action game it takes after so my playthrough was a little button-mashy, but I loved the lore, characters, and the beautiful sprite work and sound design. Easily recommend to anyone interested in League or just good action games.
I was already excited to for this game but the Kat comics they released made me even more excited for it. Those were top tier.
Sylas has always been one of my favourite champs, so glad he finally got a game.

The best thing that I was super happy about with mageseeker was the massive lore dumps. Also Shyvana x Jarvan stuff was pretty damn great too.
I will be honest, I never once thought of Sylas as anything but "Cool, chain stripper guy". But seeing Mageseeker now and what all this means. I could truly appreciate this game and what the character and story stands for. I've always appreciated the lore but to be able to enjoy Mageseeker that is something I dream of. More than anything.

In the low low chance I can still get the code the reason I was so hyped for the game is just seeing Sylas done right, I like the idea of Sylas being somewhat of a jaded hero, ready to do whatever the fuck he needs to to fix the system he was born into.

I was exited for Mageseeker mainly because of the design and gameplay, looks like a small pixelated soulslike made by an indie studio or just one guy, but because this game is behind such a name like Riot, i was certain it would be a banger.
