    What factors would you take into account before choosing between the Scorpio-N petrol and diesel variants?

      Good Review. But I just failed to understand why Mahindra made Scorpio a 7 seater vehicle when they already have XUV700.

      @@ashutoshbehera6642 Thanks. We've seen in the past - a Mahindra XUV700 buyer and a Scorpio buyer is totally different.

      People who understand the technical parameters will definitely go for the 2 liter 4 cylinder petrol engine because of it's refinements, because there is no other petrol SUV car in the market which is providing a 2 liter 4 cylinder engine as of now

      @@EdgewithHedge agreed. I’ve recently booked the petrol AT, and this is one of the factors that made my decision. Second thing is the upcoming limitations on diesel vehicle life which are likely to be implemented by the Govt soon.

    • @EdgewithHedge
      @EdgewithHedge ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WoofDaddyBigPlums moreover petrol vehicles have less complexities in engine design as compared to diesel engines so there is a less chance of replacing multiple parts in long term ownership, (for example in diesel cars the EGR gets clogged up with carbon deposits which needs to be cleaned, overheat in diesel may lead to head gasket failures) , Also bs6 diesels with add blue will give multiple issues after 5-6 years and that's why Maruti has no cars with diesel engines anymore mainly because of reliability issues

    My petrol AT gives 8-9 in city & I get 12-12.5 kmpl on a regular highway. Expressways, it increases to 13-14 kmpl. Hope that helps

    In addition, petrol has following advantages
    1. No DPF headache. Cleaner emissions in compared to diesel.
    2. NVH is significantly lesser to Diesel.
    3. Higher ethanol mix in future, hopefully, will keep fuel price stable.

      2k Diesel ⛽ engine has def so no dpf issues also diesel is fun to drive, also diesel has much better suspension than petrol....better avg than petrol also I don't think diesel will sooner get banned it will be but later not sooner

    Wow Ninad a detailed and comprehensive review 👏
    You have also answered the likely questions in advance which is very good.
    The ladder on frame design would surely have a mind of its own and would be less car like to drive as compared to a monocoque.
    Would have been more comprehensive to identify the likely below mentioned sore points and also pair it with cars of similar cost on handling ,engine refinement ,gearbox sleekness, decibel level, vibrations ,road noise.
    But all in all a great first cut review.
    Keep up the good work of enlightening prospective car buyers.

    In heavy bumper to bumper traffic, no SUV is gonna achieve 12kmpl especially something as heavy as this.
    My manual diesel xuv500 with softest of drivings barely touches 10 mostly 8.5.
    Returns upto 15 on the highway fully loaded.
    Having said the Scorpio N petrol has a turbo and low end torque and comes with 6 speed manual and AT transmissions and weighing a notch lesser, it should probably be more efficient than the diesel.

    wonderful review. I have one question. How far can the captain seats in second row incline in the six seater as compared to the 60:40 seats in the seven seater ? Is it more or the same? Please let me know.

    • @NinadAmbre3
      @NinadAmbre3 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! In both the SUVs, the second row backrest goes quite close to the rear seat but doesn't go flat. Additional info - the second row doesn't slide forward in the six-seater limiting the versatility. So please check that out.

      That’s coz it doesn’t make sense. Petrol engine will return very poor mileage due to additional weight & as such the low end torque of petrol is superbly great. This petrol version is amazingly capable & can take you places where usual people do not go (extreme rough terrain). It will meet 99% peoples need however for those 1% enthusiasts, they have given diesel 4x4. Hope that helps. I own the petrol AT & recently did a trip to Sikkim covering most treacherous roads & terrain, the vehicle glided through those with ease. It’s a real capable vehicle & petrol makes more sense if your running is low & you are in Delhi NCR.
