My Dear Indian brothers and sisters, please don't expect paddle shifters and sub 9 second to 100 speed in a 2 ton suv, it's not a sports car. We must be happy, proud and satisfied by the fact that the homegrown manufacturer has managed to give a true ladder frame suv at this price point.

    Things Mahindrta missed in ScorpioN
    1. Ventilated Seats
    2. Last row should be split 50:50 like XUV 500 or 60:40.
    3. Paddle Shifters are game changer in Automatic variants.
    4. Rear AC vents
    5. Adjustable middle rows (This is the most disappointing factor, I am waiting for this feature since launch of XUV 500 )
Scorpio can be Innova killer if they sort out middle row problems.

Renuka you are among the best and you have this amazing "no nonsense" but "cover all the bases" evaluation. Always watch you to get a truly unbiased review of any vehicle. And now about the car - I saw it in the showroom too....it rocks...Mahindra has taken the Scorpio to the next level...it has borrowed heavily from the now extinct Alturaz which when I saw in the showroom and what a car that was and the the interiors were so plush and doors so weighted. The price killed it but it was a really good SUV.

I seriously think 🤔 the ground clearance mentioned by mahindra is to evade additional duty put forward by government for vehicles above 170mm ground clearance. They kept some plastic mudflap or side step at a lower height to get duty exemption. Actual ground clearance will be some where around 205mm 🦂 🦂

My only complaint is M&M should give option of 5 seat version in fully loaded variant. Z8L + Automatic + 4*4 in 5 seat option. Many don't need 7 seater.

The usual observation is that the previous generations of iconic vehicles appear better than newly launched ones. The problem with updates and features is that more of these lead to more problems. People should look more at mechanical aspects rather than features.

I went and saw both the Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic side by side in showroom....actually Scorpio Classic looks more beautiful and macho style....classic has massive space in the third row and it is more boxy...the rear of classic is much more impressive....I think those who love love classic and retro designs will still buy Scorpio Classic

i happened to test drive yesterday. I must say, a very good car. However one big issue which many would prefer to ignore. The third row seats arent much useful unless seating children. On a long drive with luggage you will need to fold down the third row. And in that case its very bad. After folding it doesnt flush with the boot to give a flat surface. The boot space of 50 lits is low and the space for luggage after folding the seat becomes too high. Also it leaves a gap between the second row and third row. I presume that didnt give it a thought. If you want to buy a Scorpio but are hardly going to use the third row then my suggestion would be to ask the dealer to remove the third row seats and give it to you as a 5 seater.
Also this car is a bit higher and longer than the older Scorpio. It didnt give me enough confidence while turning over a sharp bend...especially if turning at a bit higher speed....even at around 60 kmph. Though many reviews claim no body roll, i did feel it. Also in a car of this range i would definitely expect ventilated seats considering the indian summers. Ventilated seats should be must instead of the sun roof which hardly many people use, though everyone want it. The gear response in automatic for diesel is quite good and the torque is superb. The car generates good speed with slight throttle.
Over all a good car, though maybe over priced by 2 lakhs.

I wish Mahindra would import vehicles to Israel. Right now we only get Indian Royal Enfield bikes which are great, but this potentially can be the best affordable light off-roader that came into the country in the past 20 years or so if it would arrive. Would be great owning a 4x4 turbo diesel Scorpio with manual gearbox, definitely gives Nissan Terrano/Isuzu Trooper vibes but obviously in a brand new car.

No sliding seats for 2nd row it’s a must must needed & 3rd row seats are not 50 50 folding. Plus ground clearance at least they should have kept 200mm or 205mm. Boot door should have open upwards. Practically these are the major loopholes for #ScorpioN.

when all the 6/7 seats are occupied for a long trip where should someone has to put the luggage? So this massive Car I should say that 4 seater/5seater only. This Car is to show off and create congestion on the roads ultimately. I was so much excited initially about the size and price, but this is not for me, I think XL6/Ertiga can do much for me it seems (of course not to compare, comparing the price and the no. of seats). BTW, thanks for the review, and much appreciated it if you have given the Manual variant review to understand the handling more in traffic conditions.
