Pretty god stuff, of note, after grinding end down on guide, make sure to round your edges, rubbing them with a metal rod works pretty well, this prevents them form cutting the inside of the thread when they come under high tension during a long fight, do it from above though you don't want to increase clearance under the toe. Another trick is to seat the guide {as he illustrated with a band} then before wrapping put a light coat of clear hard sealer {let dry} on the lead in finishing the taper even finer.
If you have a new guide that hasn't been sanded down, take a look at the tip and see if it is more ball shaped than pointed. If it is more rounded over at the tip, you will probably need to grind it back far enough to get the front of the point at a 90° angle to the bottom of the foot before you start grinding the angle into it. I hope that makes sense.
I'm not sure what is easily available to you in New Zealand, but I use these very inexpensive diamond grinding wheels in my lathe. I would imagine they would also work well in a drill because I do not run them at very high RPMs at all (as round 600). www.harborfreight.com/large-diamond-rotary-grinding-wheel-set-4-piece-69658.html You may be able to find some on bangood or similar websites that ship to NZ.
I appreciate that. I was nervous about making the change thinking it may be too much of a distraction...but it is a huge timesaver. Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it. It is hard to get things quiet enough to record audio at times and then I have to spend hours editing out my uhs and ums haha! I may go back to doing my own voiceovers, but I wanted to give this a shot and see what people think about it.
I am from Hentiesbay in Namibia. Very good tips in your video's. Thanks for sharing !!!!
Thanks for another great tips! greetings from Poland😊

Great information for novice rod builders. (Off the Hook rod and Reel)
Thanks for watching!
Great tips! Thanks heaps, I have been sanding down but I don't think I've had the angle quite right.
Never again haha

I prefer your voice to the robot. Thanks for your many great tips!
I like your voice better... But great tips 👍

@@TheFishingHobby I can imagine it's time consuming. Can always leave in a few "um's" 🙂
First…you’re a robot
LOL! Hot damn you are quick!
It’s ok but I do prefer your voice. I understand the time saving though. Great tips!
Thank you for the feedback!
no i like to hear your voice sounds better not mono toned. your more pleasant to listen to.
I decided not to do that anymore, thanks for the input!
Really like your videos but I couldn't make it 30 seconds with that voice. Sincerely hope you go back to just your voice
I did 👍
I don't like the computer generated audio, it's annoying and detracts from your otherwise excellent videos!
I only used it on this one. I had enough people tell me they didn’t like it so I decided against using it again.
Dont really care for the anamated voice
I haven’t used it again since this video. It wasn’t a popular choice 😂
