      So when you’re switching to the blue standing thread you’re just “jumping” over the silver to switch back to the blue? Not referring to the saw blade technique.

      Yes, and using it to hold the silver thread. I do this at the bottom of the rod so it won’t be as visible

      It may have been Blue Marlin #470, I wish I could remember for you. I went back and watched the video to see if I could figure it out.

    Nice work. Do not understand how teeth of saw blade are opposing as you wrapped silver in same direction over the blue?

  • @reeltime1
    @reeltime1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Very nice work. Are you keeping the white threads separated when wrapping around the blue or does it matter if they cross each other? Thanks

      I kept the two threads together, the silver metallic I was using was a little thin and I wanted a bolder effect so I just doubled it and Thank You for the kind words

    This is great, I like the double thread for the teeth of the saw blade… quick question.. what size thread are you using? I have size a and I’m trying to do this with a single thread and can never get it to look good. Thank you!

    • @rsrodsjigs6725
      @rsrodsjigs6725  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That was metallic and I think there is only one size for it, but if you want something bolder on regular thread I would try size D , the A will give you a finer effect I believe

    Hi, thanks for the great video. When you are laying the double thread, do you keep it from twisting on itself, or does it matter? Also, I have trouble when using two metallics, like say black and silver. They don’t seem to slide on each other very well when wrapping one around the other for the blade. Is it better to use a non metallic for the main color? Or maybe I’m wrapping too tight… dunno
    Thanks

      @rsrodsjigs6725  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I try to keep the two from twisting on themselves, and I pretty much so far have used nonmetallic for the main color, it does seem to catch if you add another metallic to it, I have done to metallics side by side to make a thicker strand though

    Your work is Beautiful. In this video it wasn't really clear and I couldn't see what you were doing with the threads. Another words I couldn't see how you crossed over the threads and in what direction. I hope you remake this video cause your work is so good and I'd like to learn your technique. thanks

    Love your videos but if you could move your camera to the right and come straight on where you are wrapping and possibly zoom in a bit we could really see what you are doing.

      I tried every angle that I could on this one and got as close as I could. I was on my husbands wrapper, I’m usually on my own where I have a better set up. But Thank You for your kind words

    Huh interesting. I really wanna get into rod building but I am already on the verge of being a hoarder.
    Edit: huh wonder if this could be done to create a sharks tooth pattern...

      @@rsrodsjigs6725 I'm starting to think of getting into AI programming. Havent started to learn it yet...but I would think such a thing might be possible with AI. It seems to be capable of pretty much anything these days.
      I think it be neat for a shark rod or something for a boat. Set ya kinda out of the pack when it comes to rod building.
