I kept seeing this on marketplace and was tempted, i can't wait to see how it turns out. 😊 Who told you not to use a drill brush? Yes i wouldnt use them on a concourse bike but on the kind of bikes we buy they're an essential tool. Saves hours of scrubbing!
The chap had lots of interest but I secured it 4 weeks ago as he was away. It looked worse in the photos. I didn't knock him on price either which helped. Yeah, lovely chap and a genuine bike so was happy to buy it 😃
Mike get yourself a ball joint press/puller mate its litterally my favourite tool in my toolbox and has saved me countless times with nightmare cotter pins on my choppers. 😁
Thankyou . I'll be back on it tomorrow and be looking at the frame and hub dates, I'm confident they'll match. Video out though towards the end of the week once the front wheel has arrived
I had a Raleigh Grifter! Happy days! I felt very clever with the sturmey archer 3 speed hub cos none of the other kids had that! I still love bikes to this day, both road and mtb, ride at least once a week 😊
@@dealermike1331 it’s funny you mention the weight cos I remember it being sooooo heavy, but also I was about 6-7 years old at the time so everything was heavy! Not sure how much it cost but do remember it was bought second hand at a bring-and-buy sale at the local scout hut! I was lucky I grew up on a really quiet road so I could ride everyday 👍
@AndreS_22246 you still get bring and buy sales but sadly no grifters turn up.. I'm looking forward to getting this rideable as I've never actually ridden a grifter, choppers are a laugh, burners make your balls ache bit grifters look really comfy !!

I would say that mk1 grifter is a 1977 or 1978
Do you know the name of original colour the bike was Mike.
