I cannot thank you enooough!!!! I've had horrible indigestion. Ongoing stomach pain, panic attacks, anxiety, insomnia, low blood pressure, close to fainting, numb extremities, blurry vision, senses failing, weight loss, back pain, head pressure. But I'm not kidding, doing my own research listening to all of your videos have healed about 80% of my issues so far, and still in progress. If you're having these issues, do everything that they say in their videos. They all work. I did a cup of warm chicken stock morning and afternoon, a peppermint oil rub on your stomach at night, turmeric drinks, do everything that helps you relax, hot showers, long walks. Stress free everything. I cut out fast food, fried foods, and sweets (sometimes I eat something sweet). Do all of this and you WILL get better

2:55 - chew your food 50-70 times (you wont have to count after 2 weeks of training)
6:55 - eat melon or leave a melon (but wait 20 minutes) until you eat something else
10:25 your body heals itself (bone broth allows your cells to re-generate)
23:23 - we want fats from avocado, flax seeds, olives fish

My Grandmother used to drive me crazy with how many times she chewed her food .It seems a school teacher taught her the importance of eating slowly and chewing her food up
She would still be eating her salad while Grandaddy was ready for dessert.

It depends on what you're eating. Let the feel of the food in your mouth be final test. Some foods can be broken down to "cream" in much less chewing than others. I find steak and other cuts of meat require much more chewing to mechanically break it down into small pieces. Other foods are fairly creamy to begin with.

  • @vickisullivan847

I like these guys! Very informative, without the "fluff". The majority of these videos that are put out by these so called experts use a lot of 'fluff' words, but tell us nothing. These guys get specific, without touting certain brands. That's a real plus for me! I've learned more from this video about gut issues than I've learned from the last 20 videos I've watched just trying to get some 'real' answers. Great job guys! I also think as consumers we have to be pro-active, and take the time to read labels, and check the ingredients. No matter what we hear about a product, and how it's "guaranteed" to work, or your "money back", it really doesn't mean a thing, because it's all a sales pitch. Even some of the products that are recommended by our own doctors are bad for us, and have a ton of additives, and preservatives. The closer to "all natural" you can get, the better. For instance; Aloe Vera is fantastic for so many things, and especially for skin issues. But if you go out and buy it, more than likely it will have other ingredients added to preserve it. Or even if you get 100% Aloe Vera gel in a health food store, or GNC, etc, it will cost you an arm, and a leg. So you're better off getting a healthy plant, nurturing it, and you'll always have it when you need it. Just break off a leaf, and the gel inside is pure, and natural, and better than any product you'll pay 20 times the amount for in a store. After going through a horrendous journey from a simple spider bite 10 months ago, that eventually led to the break down of almost my entire body, including my skin, I've learned so much this past year. The bottom line is; the good earth has everything we need to keep our bodies healthy, and even heal us of many diseases. We just have to do be very pro-active, and do our own research! As much as I respect the medical profession, I've learned the hard way that they're wrong....A LOT! At least 50% of the time. So always, always research everything they tell you, and get a second, or third opinion if you have to. But.... I've had 8 different doctors give me 8 different opinions, so....? When I was a kid, I remember hearing my Dad say several times that "They call it the PRACTICE of medicine for a reason". I didn't understand what he meant then, but I certainly do now!

I absolutely love your channel.I've got chronic psoriasis which flares up in the autumn/winter and also due to anxiety and stress but after watching your videos it's confirmed what I knew, excuse the pun, in my gut. That is I needed to look at the root cause which I think could be leaky gut. There is the other aspect i.e meditation and my emotional health.I have been taking lots of healthy things in my diet coconut milk, ginger, turmeric and black pepper, oats with nuts and seeds. The list is endless but I think I need to up the anti and buy decent quality turmeric and ginger tablets (not sure if I can buy them together or that's a good idea),and put a sign up on my fridge of what I need to eat daily.Thank you so,so much for clear, useful content. I drink bone broth to soothe/heal my stomach, which I heard from Josh several years ago. I had forgotten about it until recently when I started having a lot of trouble with digestion. It has seemed every step of digestion had problems, so I'm back to step one.
I also make bone broth and then put peppers, zucchini, broccoli-- all the veggies I don't like- in the broth and cook 'til done, maybe a little longer. Veggies cooked this way always mix their flavors so that I don't mind eating them!! (But I'm not eating all the veggies right now.)
    AND...
Yeah, Josh, watch talking about your mom! We didn't know the crap we were being sold was bad!♥️🙏🏻✌

One night I was so fed up with not knowing what diet to eat to help my gastroparesis and heal my gut...vegan? Raw vegan? Paleo? Pegan? AIP? I was SOOOO frustrated, so as a devout Christian I prayed a lot, downloaded Jordan's book from Amazon and never looked back! I haven't gone a day without throwing up in so long, but his healing protocol really helped me and did it in a way that made sense with my religious views. Why would God tell us to eat animals but then make them poisonous to us as vegans claim? Or why would the Israelites consume manna in the wilderness if it is damaging to the gut? Now I consume TONS of sauerkraut, kombucha, raw milk, raw kefir, yogurt, pasture raised meats and eggs, grass fed organic everything, organic produce, etc. Love the work you two have done and it is especially helpful because it aligns with my religious views!

WAY OF KAY I have something wrong with my digestive system. had to go to the er because the pain was so bad but it was because I was full of gas and bloated so bad the only way I can explain what it felt like was that I had a inner tube under my rib cage and it was being inflated with air and it wasn't stopping. they kept me for a couple days after doing a CT scan and said I had ilius but he didn't understand why my electrolytes wasn't all over the place. but my white blood cells weren't normal either. but I know what your talking about of not being able to eat. it don't matter what I eat I don't feel good regarless. so I figured I would try juicing but on here they really don't suggest it but I need to loose weight. and the weird thing is I don't loose weight I keep gaining weight. I gained like 15 pounds in 2 weeks and hardly ate anything. and when I finally got to see the GI dr, which took me 2 months after getting out of the hospital he had the nerve to say I had nothing wrong with my gut because I drank the white chalky stuff and I passed it. but I know how I feel and have felt this way since April of 2015 and I'm so tired of not only feeling bad but not being scared to eat because I know what will happen. but I also want to say and let you know that I prayed to god many many times and if it wasn't for him I don't know what I would do. so I'm glad that I read your story and I'm going to try the bone broth and chewing my food many many times. Thank you again and god bless. 😊

Kim Sikorski Yes keep on praying! And tell your friends and family about your struggle so they can pray for you too! People from my church keep asking how I'm doing and told me they've been praying for me! Well it worked 'cause I have so many answers doctor couldn't give me. Keep up the research on healthy gut microbiome and eat God's foods! Also with the weight gain, I completely understand! That to me screams weight is more than just calories, it's about the status of the bugs in your gut! People of a healthy weight have a good ratio of bugs, while people who are overweight have less diversity of bugs, especially some of the really good ones! You CAN get these tested with a stool sample online or something. I didn't do that, I just listened to my body. I juiced for a while to help alkalize my body because I couldn't keep leafy greens down. BUT now I can so I don't juice anymore, but if I were to I would add 2-3 apples, 1/2 head of celery, 1 lemon, 1 3" chunk of ginger, 2 handfuls of dandelion greens, 2 handfuls kale, 1 bunch parsley, and that's it! It's very detoxifying for your liver from all the bitter herbs! I used to make it every day and sip on it throughout the morning. I think eventually you want to not juice because the fiber in those fruits and veggies are good for feeding the GOOD bugs in your gut. Sugar feeds the BAD bugs. Keep doing your research, I like empoweredsustanance.com, draxe.com, mark hyman's work, and I follow the Weston A Price diet/ lifestyle (legit I can eat waffles made with pasture raised eggs, raw whole milk, and sprouted spelt flour with NO problem! and I pour syrup on it now). I now have energy to go to the gym (lifting weights and HIIT workouts are best for your gut bugs and balancing the microbiome, running long distance can create further dysbiosis, so I suggest if you want to do cardio, just walk or only jog for 20 minutes or so 3-4 times a week. I find walking incline is better though since you strengthen your glutes and hamstrings. I am a personal trainer and find females think they need cardio to lose fat but often get "skinny fat" doing this and respond WAY better to strength and resistance exercises. Please message me if you have any more question! I think God sort of blessed me with the mess I was in for years of stomach problems to help people out and re-find God made food!

WAY OF KAY Thank you for getting back with me so quickly. I'm going to try the juice that you suggested but have no clue where to get dandelions because it is cold here in ohio. And we really don't have any health food stores like most you tubers that I have watched on here. But I'm going to try juicing for one of my meals and try chewing my food a lot more. I think I'm going to have to write it on posits and put them everywhere to remind me to chew chew chew. Lol. I have watched so many different kinds of diets and honestly I don't know what is the right one. To be honest I basically have done the one where you eat one to two times a day then have nothing for 16 hours, that is how I have always ate. And I'm over weight. Years ago I tried eating 5 to 6 smaller meals a day but I also took something to help me lose weight and I actually did. I walked everyday and every night and when I took my measurements after a week I lost aprox 6 inches. I thought that was pretty good. Then in 2011 I tried adipex and lost aprox 50 pounds, I wasn't at my goal weight but I looked so much better but actually hurt more in my joints and my back where I have herniated disc which made no since at all. But if I could get back down to 150 I would be very happy. But I kept that weight off until April of 2015 when all of these stomach problems started. I haven't been on a scale in over 3 months because I'm scared. The last time I weighed my self I was up to 180 and it's really sad that thr clothes that would fall off of me at 150 are tight now. It just saddens me to no end and I feel so bad about the way I look and feel. But I'm hoping to change that around and if I can get my gut to quit causing so much pain then I will be able to do more as when it comes to exercise.
I have a question for you, when they talk bone broth do you actually have to buy bones and boil them or can you just buy like chicken broth or beef broth in a container? I don't know much about any of that stuff so anything will help. Thank you and god bless. 😊

    • @KaylynBartlett
      @KaylynBartlett 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Hey Kim, I can totally understand where you are coming from. It is hard to focus on things that really matter when you're worried about your health. The number one tip I have is to pray. Ask God for guidance and strength so that you can work more on glorifying Him and worry less about how to keep food down or anything like that. Secondly, focus on the POSITIVES! Every morning I write down or say out loud 5 things I am thankful for or 5 things I am happy with about myself. The mind really is a powerful thing when it comes to physical health! As for the bone broth, you can buy it sometimes frozen at certain grocery stores, but probably more like health food shops. You can also boil bones, yes, that's how you get the collagen. The broths in boxes in stores aren't nearly as nutritious as the collagen rich broths made from bones. I recommend either ordering a bone broth online if you can't find a frozen one and aren't ready to make it with bones, or ordering Dr. Axe's bone broth powder. As far as not knowing how or what to eat, the MOST important thing is to listen to YOUR body! If fasting 16 hours a day and eating 2-3 meals within an 8 hour window is comfortable for you and you aren't constantly thinking about food, great! But if you wake up hungry but also like a snack right before bed, don't feel like you have to fit into the intermittent fasting routine! Sure, it is great for your gut to give it a break from constantly digesting, but maybe for you that could look more like eating a meal at 9 am, then again at 1, and then again at 5, with a snack around 8. Ideally, if nothing else as far as fasting goes, you should aim to leave 12-13 hours after your last meal before you "break your fast." This is adequate time to give your gut a rest without stressing your adrenals (us females tend to experience much more adrenal fatigue than men, and it shows itself in blood sugar issues and abdominal fat).
So yeah, listen to YOUR body. If you think you want to still fast in the morning, try bone broth or a juice to get you until lunch! What worked for me was doing bulletproof coffee in the morning and then eating 2-3 meals, high in fat, veggies, and protein. Eventually I was able to add in more starchy foods, but for a few months I couldn't tolerate any carbs really. The key is realizing this isn't forever, God can heal, and if you try to work with Him and what He is trying to tell you, whether it's that you're too focussed on weight or food and not enough on Him, or if He's trying to let you know you're going too fast in life or you need to let go of something and that's a metaphor for why you can't lose weight, etc. He knows, and He works in ways we don't know. That is why we need to trust in Him and really pray about the things we are experiencing, because we can't do it alone! The world tells us we need to look a certain way or eat a certain way. The truth is, we need to listen to the Bible first. He gave us principles of foods to eat, He told us not to be gluttonous, to not be anxious, and to honor our body as a temple. These are all things I realized I was not doing even as a devout Christian. Since realizing how off track I was from where I should be in my walk of faith, I have made a full recovery and don't feel the massive inflammation I once felt!

I know some say why give a certain number to count before swallowing the chewed food, but for some reason that resonated with me. For the first time I understand the reason for thoroughly chewing my food. I happen to have been eating a green salad with my own salad dressing while watching this and I started counting. I eventually went beyond 30 times, and it did start to taste a little sweet. :) Mono meals make sense too. I really appreciate both Dr. Josh Axe and Jordan Rubin. I have exactly every single health issue associated with leaky gut imaginable . I don't have insurance to go to a doctor. Its 4:30am and I woke up with numb arm and hand..brain fog..palpitations..rumbling in belly..pain near liver and dudondem..sinus pressure ..constipation is always present. I took a blood pressure pill and a low dose because with all that I woke up with I figured I better try and ward off heart attack and stroke..even though I know the losartan and asprin do more harm then good . right eye lid is twitching . Burping as well with bloated belly. I made carrot and apple juice yesterday ..only drank that and a little bone broth and bitter teas all day..the more I do to get myself and my gut healthy the worse I feel. Have been to hospital twice this year for these symptoms only to be sent home with a dose of mylanta and proton pump . I'm just so afraid I'm about to croke because I cannot heal myself and my gut. Also just found out after reading through hospital records that I have mild scattered divertculosis that the hospital did not tell me I had ..even after I told them my brother has it and after they took CT of belly and pelvic area. So I'm really at a loss. I want to go to hospital right now but I feel I won't get treated properly 😢

In fact, a lot of your suggestions are actually enjoyable and easy to apply. It would be nice to get a list of recommended brands and supplements. Like what olives do you eat, what brand of kombucha, what brand of bone broth, etc. especially for many of us who don't have the time to make our own. I know you both sell a lot of your own products but do you recommend others?

Guys, another thing that immediately clicked was when you said to NOT consume high amounts of juices or kombuchas or cold drinks if your gut is irritated. This does make it more stressed! I urge you to try bone broth instead! It helps the healing process so much faster then you can get on to slowly introducing new things. This worked for me and continues to as I have chronic gut nuisances :)
