(HD) Green Foliage Along the Atlantic City Line

- (ACL Trains Galore 1!!) A compilation of footage shot along the NJT Atlantic City Line back in 2017. The ACL is one of the unique outsiders of the NJT system yet is one of NJT's finest mainlines when it comes to scenery and service. The ACL is also well known for having the (Geep) GP40PH-2B/2A as its prime source of motive power which has been the case since the early 90's. The ACL also has the second highest Maximum Authorized Speed rail coverage in the NJT system with certain stretches of rail allowing for 80mph with large distances between the intermediate stations, and flat rural areas such as farms thus allowing for faster service. This is not the case with the NJT system in upstate N.J which is much more urban and stations are very close together. So if you like seeing Geeps knocking down signals with wide-open throttles for 2-3 miles at a time the ACL is the perfect solution. 2:23 I love the sound of the Alstom Comet V K5LA Horn sounds like the AEM-7
NJT Comet V #6013 definitely has one of the much better sounding K5LAs in the fleet. It does sound like an AEM-7 to an extent.

@@mr.conductorfromsts4204 Depends in the specific ALP-46 because some now have Raised Letter horns but for the most part since most are restricted they sound more reminiscent to the ALP-44s rather then the AEM-7s.

Geo The Train Guy Thx again George! Yeah I am getting better horn work, even 6007 sounded good this time!
I know right! Ive always thought the same thing. Some engineers just barely pull the horn, and just give out a little squeak.
It's not the Engineers, it's the equipment. Most times the horn valves are weak or the handles are worn out and don't open the air valve completely.
NJT4120 Productions and yeah I'd someday like to hear a good horn blast from 6012 lol. 6012 has a very squeaky horn. (6012 isn't in this video)
@@DilworthConnor Yeah quite a few of the earlier production Comet V Cabs have very squeaky horns. Rumors have it that #6012 now has an unrestricted K5LA but its a Raised Letter. I haven't yet heard it in person, but I have seen videos of it. Sounds miles better than before.
Where do they keep the ac trains out ..30th street??
NJT normally keeps half of there sets at 30th St and half at the Atlantic City Rail Terminal. As of right now only 3-4 triple car sets service the ACL in both directions.

The line was double tracked up to August of 1967 when it was the Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines Railroad. In August of 1967, the line became single tracked except in certain locations from Cologne to Egg Harbor City-Mullins Township Line and from the Hammonton train station to the end of the small Hammonton Yard. I lived in Elwood, New Jersey from December 14,1963 to June 21,1972.
