Hi, beautiful disassembly, I appreciate you making this video as I'm currently working on repairing a couple of my own lenses. Could you please add more notes in the future, I would like to know how you cleaned the HSM and with what etc.. Also could you please explain how cleaning it makes it better? Does it get better connection or?
Hi, I have a sigma lens 70-300mm, DL. I opened it to clean, but got down a little metal sphere: 1mm perhaps. it was any connection with diafragma ring. I have no ideia how to put it on the inicial local
DIGI SERVICE, Hello. Could you tell me, please, what is the purpose of these three thin metal spacers-rings? They are from different metal - 2 yellow and one light gray. Because I see this in almost all lenses, including vintage manual ones (servicing my own lenses). I would like to understand their purpose. I asked this question in other videos, but no one can clearly explain. And why are they made of different metal? Brass or bronze + probably steel?
They are different sizes of spacers used to adjust the lens setup distance to the camera sensor. The lens flange is fixed but the glass lenses could be differing distances to the flange dependent on the tolerances used in mounting the glass. Once tested each lens could be slightly different, so these cannot be changed out onto another lens.
Hello do you know what is the problem that the lens is dark, like i have to use the 12.400 ISO to get the same light view of the 1.600... other lenses do not do it in the camera.
Hey friend! I love your videos. Can you please help me with something. I own a Sigma 105mm F2.8 Macro for Canon and I was cleaning some fungus out of it but the problem is that the fungus wasn't in the first or the secong glass but it was further into the lens. The thing is, there was a fly over me and when I was about to hit it I pulled the AF motor that Iwas holding with the other hand and then the Flexible cable that come out of the AF motor ripped apart. My question to you is: Is there a way to replace only the flexible cable or do I have to replace the whole AF motor??? I live in Brazil and its hard to get my hands on a new AF motor. Thanks in advance man...

Hi there I have the sigma 17-50mm and AF is indeed also not working. So I just need to clean the motor and then it is running again?
Hi, can you show how to open front glass for cleaning?
