Thanks for this video. Removing these screws allows my lens to move. After installing the screws, lens is stuck again. Any ideas? All slots look aligned. I even disassembled the next layer looking for problems but it is ok.
Do you know which part to fix if autofocus is no longer working? I was able to fix the stuck zoom, thanks to this video. But now autofocus works for a few shots, then doesn't work. Manual focus and manually turning the focus ring doesn't seem to work either
i didn't have a zoom problem but i had a autofocus problem , if you open the lense from the back there will be an aray of tiny cogged wheels and a tiny motor that's most likely the part with the problem
thank you for this excellent video - could you please describe the Loctite product type? There are several Loctite threadlocker types - it could (because of color) be THREADLOCKER BLUE 242 type, but please confirm. Thank you.
Just came here to see if I could safely remove the 2 screws that hold on the AF and OS switches, they're slightly rusted and I'd like to be able to remove them, clean them, oil them, dry them and finally put them back in It seems that I can, I'd be okay if I just took one out, cleaned it, replaced it, then did the other one next right?
Or maybe, the two spring clips behind the auto and manual switch have become unaligned and it won’t lift the gear high enough to disengage. Stripped it twice using this vid to find I only had to go 1/4 disassemble to fix it…
So this is the problem with my Sigma lens? Do you charge for your services? My Sigma 17-50 lens is suffering from this same issue. It still works but I basically have to use it as a prime lens since the zoom ring is stuck. How much would you charge to fix mine?
Hi , yes we do repairs for Sigma lenses. Basically this kind of repair is around 120 euro. For more info send email to service@digi-service.eu. Thank you!
I had the same problem, the part that he puts on the lens at 13:24 has a rectangular bar sticking out (on the inside of the part) that needs to line up with its holder on the lens. This is not shown in the video and solved the problem for me. You can check correct alignment by rotating the manual focus ring and see if the inside of the lens moves.
Maybe give the poor thing some cleaning on the way? This is what sets different technicians apart in my opinion. All technicians can fix the problem, but only few will take the extra steps to provide better care to the customer's equipment. Not that the customer was taking care of it anyway, from what I can see.
In today's time & age 😆 what's the repair cost to have the same lens repaired? Thank you
The vid is cool

No freaking way I can do this one! What's my other option 🤔. 🗑?
HI send the lens to us and we can fix it for a very reasonable price. Thank you!
If this is a norm why it's no recall on this over priced crap?
