    Available Now: mercury-studios.lnk.to/ZZTopD...
Double Down Live is a 2 DVD set from ZZ Top combining shows from 1980 and 2008. Disc one was filmed at the Grugahalle in Essen, Germany for the Rockpalast TV series. Hot on the heels of their classic Deguello album (it features 9 of the 10 songs from it) the show finds ZZ Top before sequencers and synthesizers epitomising their lil ol blues band from Texas nickname. Complimented by tracks drawn predominantly from their Tres Hombres and Fandango! albums this is a true best of ZZ Top in the seventies. Disc Two was shot during their European tour in 2008 and combines great live performances, interview clips and back stage footage to create the ultimate ZZ Top on the road movie. With nearly 30 years between the performances the two disc set gives a fascinating then and now insight into what has maintained the ZZ Top live phenomenon.
Rumour spreadin' a-'round in that Texas town
'bout that shack outside La Grange
and you know what I'm talkin' about.
Just let me know if you wanna go
to that home out on the range.
They gotta lotta nice girls ah.
    Have mercy.
A haw, haw, haw, haw, a haw.
    A haw, haw, haw.
Well, I hear it's fine if you got the time
and the ten to get yourself in.
    A hmm, hmm.
And I hear it's tight most ev'ry night,
but now I might be mistaken.
    hmm, hmm, hmm.
    Ah have mercy.

The one thing that remains constant thru the twists and turns of this tune is Frank Beard's rock steady drumming. Deserves far more credit as a great rock drummer then he usually gets.

    • @user-hz6vm7xh8m
      @user-hz6vm7xh8m หลายเดือนก่อน

How much credit does he get? How much do you think he should get? How exactly does one measure drummer credit?
Would you enjoy ZZ Top more if all the sudden people started giving Frank Beard's rock steady drumming more credit? If you say yes then I feel sorry for you because that would mean you miss the point of Rock-N-Roll my friend.
I don't care if I'm the only person in the world who loves & listens to ZZ Top.
It's not about approval points from others. The ONLY thing that matters is how you feel while listening to the music and hopefully it will bring you a rush of great memories from back in the day. I hope that's what listening does for you.

Summer of 1980, I was the summer between my Junior year and senior year of HS. I was hanging with some people I had met at the fair, that became great friends and I married their sister. Had a 1970 R/T 383 Challenger with an Alpine deck…cannot remember the speakers but, she put on La Grange and blew my d@mn speakers. 🤣🤣🤣 so, we drank a little more 154 and powered on a joint and went to a kegger. I downloaded this vid at the beginning of 2009. I looked it 5min. before writting this message and I was like "Oh, now there's probably a very good audio/video quality on TH-cam! " (My actuel version sucks...)
    And so, I'm here.
Ah ah BIG LOVE FROM FRANCE AND HAPPY GROOVE YEAR EVERYBODY ! CHILLS OUT ♥
