  • A small tip I learned from a bloke a while ago, let's you check the general health of your Diaphragms without needing to take the carb apart. Should be universal to all CV Carburettors.

I have a set on my CB400 SF which have been giving me nightmares since I took the bike in to have the carbs balanced. This little trick should help troubleshoot the vacuum system.

Thanks for the video, I think mine is stuffed. It has slight resistance halfway up but not significant resistance and I can hear air when I push it the rest of the way.
(Suzuki vz800 marauder) cleaned carbies, new jets but won’t run on the (front) carby I tested with your method.

This doesent work on every carb right? Two carbs i tried this on both go up without resistance but they run normal on the road.

It is specific to the CV carbs.
