Hey mate, all your videos are absolute class. A lot of care and attention paid to everything from visuals to narration, making an otherwise pedestrian topic like a racing sim DLC review a joy to watch.
The Glen is one of my favorite road tracks in iRacing. TBH I always struggle there with stockcars :( (short layout) but I'm glad that it finds it way into ACC. To me the best ACC-DLC so far and worth every cent.
one thing I don't understand, acc is the official SRO sim, all cars in the series run acc stickers on them, and real championship points are awarded for real drivers racing it and so on. so why isn't Kunos granted all licenses needed for the game content directly by SRO itself, instead of dealing with the same problems that indipendent studios without official associations with irl series - Reiza, for example- have to face ?
Heh, thanks man! I'm trying to be more consistent with the uploads at the moment. Had a lot of real world stuff getting in the way until recently, but things are a lot more normal now!
Such a great analysis - keep it up Chris, awesome work! PS: would be great if you could also make a video on rigs, the different types available, pros cons and budget thresholds...would love to see something like that from you!
I was going to say this with the Moza review, but got lazy. I always look forward to a Chris Haye video because he has an incredible eye for detail, and his videos are shot beautifully. Great reviews and when I finally get my channel going, it will be hopefully something like this.
Chris you are my favorite voice in sim racing. When i hear that voice of yours i want to grab my wheel right away! That being said, i think both COTA and Watkins Glen are great additions to ACC. I just hope we will get a second American track pack at some point. Sebring and VIR pretty please.
So many comments for you to read. I remember when it was just you, me and handful of others. Obvs, great to see the success of the channel, and with this vid, you can see why. Personally, I'm warming to Indy, although I see Watkins being the go to track for most leagues and should be fun in lower powered cars. COTA I predict being a staple for long endurances.
Hyped for this, but I'm surprised there's no Road America, although you explained the reasons behind those decisions extremely well, so I can't be too down about it.
They would've made a butt ton more money by having those other circuits included, but hey maybe it's a financial year thingo, we may get a part 2 which includes the others
I find Cota and Indianapolis incredibly boring to drive. Would have loved Watkins Glen, Sebring,VIR and Road America. Hopefully they could become available in the future
beautifully made video...I really hope you will do more of that again. ACC is not my sim though, because AC offers much more variety (and new stuff too!) but I always love a well made cinematic video.
As always a very good review fair and full of useful information. I personally was praying for Sebring because I love it in Rfactor 2 however obviously for what it didn't happen and in such a great sim with so many tracks available no one can really complain. Kunos are the masters of GT3 racing in the accessible and affordable sim world and deserve our support. Edit due to purchase: 07/07/22 I wasn't going to buy this track pack as I thought the tracks were a poor choice compared to the tracks I would have picked myself. However your review changed my mind and I am very glad it did I did the flow of Watkins Glen has to be experienced to be believed and the same is for COTA it really amazed me as I have tried them in different sims and been very uninspired by them. The Indy track is what you expect a real challenge to say the least. But top marks to Kunos a great track pack of the highest possible quality. And thanks again Chris!
Thanks for a nice video. I to really cannot gell with Indy, it is just as you say, one clumsy corner after another. I think this is even more pronounced since you get it at the same time as you get the Glen, an track that has you hang on for dear life through corners that flow, walls close by and is just has that fantastic feel to it. I really hope that someday we get VIR and Sebring and Sonoma as well. Specially VIR is one hell of a fun ride and reminds me of the british tracks with how narrow and fast it is. I have always had a sweetspot for the US racetracks as many of them have a real good flow and vibe to them. Tbh if they can add the VIR, Sebring and Sonoma but have to bump the price to say 30 i'd still be willing to buy them. ACC is a steal to begin with so no issues with a bigger one off-
as someone else mentioned, the Glen just dropped in GT7 as well. I wonder if something changed on their end to allow more licenses of the track. Either way I'm glad both groups of racers get to enjoy it.
I’d like to see your pc specs in the description. Actually I’d like to see all sim racing content creators pc specs in their description so I can see what I’m aiming for if I like what I see. Anyway, great work as always. Keep it coming👍🏻
Nice video! I spend more time on the original AC, but those tracks look great for those days when I want the ACC experience! And yes! We would all love to get the green hell on ACC!! I hope Kunos brings it home at some point!
I don't know how to explain it. But, if your videos are a bottle of 30 year old scotch, most other channels only offer Monkey Shoulder. Nothing wrong with Monkey Shoulder at all but this is just nicer all around. I do hope Kunos will surprise us with a new American Track Pack 2.0 soon. They just get tracks right.... kinda like your videos
Lol, the only thing good from the Indy infield, is that i walked there, in the rain, towards the awsome museum there during a rained out quali of the 2015 Indy 500. I was hoping they had the infield already demolished... but no. Thanks for the video!
2:01 Yes!! Porsches are something truly special at The Glen. Seems like other videos aren't quite realizing this. Your analysis is dead on target, including the disappointment with Indy. I was first disappointed by Indy in R3E several years ago; and it has never clicked with me since. Daytona is a much more satisfying Oval-Turned-Road course. If Road America, Sonoma, and Barber MP could ever be added to ACC, I'd have trouble booting up other sims. Chris, your ACC videos are SO gorgeous. I really love your stuff.
I drove 4 hours from home in May to Watkins Glen to watch 80 Ferrari Evos duke it out over 3 days of the Ferrari Challenge. This DLC couldn't have come at a better time...I' setting up my own Ferrari Championship!
Track selection makes sense to me. WG as a fan fave, COTA well known due to F1, and Indy 8H is part of IGTC, also in 2023. COTA works really well for GT3s, and in longer races tyre wear makes some corners quite 'interesting'. There's about 9-10 tracks for US DLC (1 in Canada), so for Kunos there's potential to build a 2nd track pack around Sebring and a third one around Road America. Putting 3-4 fan fave tracks in a single track pack would have made future US track packs completely unappealing unless to those desperately wanting to run full GTWCA seasons. I just take what I can get 😊 and it'll be a steal on sale soon enough for those in doubt.
It's just too wide and I dislike how much you can cut so many of the corners. Magotts-Becketts at Silvo has grass as runoff whereas at Cota it's got loads of tarmac outside the white line
Its easily one of the worst tracks ive ever tried. It feels so synthetic. No natural flows. Just a lot of corners that feels like they came from an indoor kart track.
I suspect another factor behind the tracks that weren't included is the point we've reached in ACC's life cycle. However, I struggle to think anyone would prefer COTA to, say, Sebring.
Thanks for your video. I do have the American track pack. I wish more American tracks would be made for ACC and other SIM racing games. Missing in some games are Mid Ohio, Portland, Long beach, Detroit, Sanoma, Road America, Road Atlanta, Riverside, and Vancouver. I don't care if they are not GT racing tracks, just add them Please. The two games I have every American track are RFactor 2 and Assetto Corsa and all because of 3rd party modding which newer games do not provide. Seems everyone is more interested in International tracks and race hours on end on the new Nord track. Oh well, I can always hope for more American tracks. But not holding my breath waiting. I will continue doing my RFactor 2 and Assetto Corsa racing on American tracks I know and love to race on. Take care.
As someone that has driven the different Indy layouts in rf2, the Indy GP layout we got in ACC is the best. The dog leg is far better then the Chicane of tracklimits (or in ACC space program), the section following the back straight has some flow, compared to the double hairpins that were there (if you want a flow killer, that is one), and while taking speedway 1 as the final corner would be cooler, still better to turn 90 right instead of a hairpin into a 90 left. Oh and no tracklimits on the backstraight is also a relief
Disappointing that Sebring did not make the cut. Sebring is not in the majority of the Sims, I only have it in Assetto Corsa. Hopefully one day we can have it in AC Competizione!!!
I think Watkins Glen speaks for itself. As for the other 2, I would have gone for Road America and VIR in a heartbeat instead. If they were to include a 4th, for me, Mosport would be a no-brainer. There are certain elements at Austin that really aren't so bad, but for one, the track as a whole just has too high a proportion of slow corners. They're both almost exactly the same length, but the IndyCar record at Austin is 117.0 mph, while for Watkins Glen, it's 148.5 mph. I know this would never happen with official content, but the thought has occurred to me that, as a mod for one of the sims that does such things pretty heavily, a "re-imagining" of Austin could be kind of interesting. i think the layout that IndyCar uses, and GTWC America used in 2020, is a better option than this configuration, which only came to be because of curb damge from the NASCAR race. Either that, or use the extra infield loop, but then utilize Oval Turn 1 like F1 did. Both Austin and the Indy Roval really need cars that produce more downforce to particularly come alive, I'd have to say. Unless they're going to implement the 2.52-mile layout at Sears Point, I'm not too bothered by the omission of Sonoma. I'm glad Las Vegas isn't in there, and I'd gladly take Sebring over NOLA. Now, the track NOLA replaced this year, hmm... OT, but, I hope you've had a chance to sample Fat-Alfie's Battenbergring.
Glen is awesome but once I tried a full race on COTA, I'm obsessed with the complexities. Feels like a new puzzle to solve in S1 just like Silverstone's Maggotts & Becketts, with a whole bunch of interesting weavy bits. Indy is uninspiring to me but I have yet to give it another try besides my track medal runs.
all the simracing channels appear so exited for these but on public lobbies no new content seems to be played at all. neither the challenge pack not the tracks
Not enough content for the price, IMO. I bought it anyway but I am going to start waiting on future DLC content to go on sale on Steam if it is as anemic as this one is.
Great video review as usual. I totally agree that Watkins Glen and COTA are really great additions to ACC and excellent to race on in the GT3 cars. But Indy...just plain sucks! I would have much preferred ANY of the other 4 tracks GT World US races on, especially my rFactor 2 absolute favorite track Sebring. Hopefully AMS2 releases Sebring in Part 3 of their Racin USA DLC.
I remember my coach's words "There is no such thing as a bad track, only a poor driver attitude. If you decide a track is bad, all you will ever be there is bad. You are willingly giving away points because of psychology, not geometry."
Anyone else with DLC problerms with American Track.. I bought the DLC and it does not open the trakcs... it directos me back to Steam as if I haven't bought.it ,, thanks
I dont think so. The game is popular and important for SRO. No need to drop it. There is still so much they could do! American Track Pack 2, GT2 Pack, Magny Cours, Valencia, Hockenheimring, 296 GT3 and 992 GT3...
Nice to See Watkins Glen, but even knowing the challenges in adding tracks, the lack of my favorite US track (Road America) and VIR is a real disappointment.
I think Kunos missed the mark here. Where is Road America Sebring & the GT4 Mustang especially for the price. Indy is not an enjoyable track at all Watkins Glen & COTA are great. Kunos left out two of the best tracks in the America out of an American track pack 🙄. Kunos’s reply to your question really said we want to milk it for all it is worth & we are going to drag it out for as long es we can🤨 Thanks for sharing 👍🏻👍🏻🙃🙃
My hate about ACC turned into respect for fixing my major issues, but even it's probably in my Top 3, AMS2 and rF2 are much better. The three new free tracks for AMS2 (10 layouts) are so much better than all of the three, I don't give a shit. And because even quite a few ACC-fans are not buying into this DLC, it will not be available on public servers soon.
I can't help but feel that the best circuits didn't make it into the DLC (Watkins Glen aside). Sonoma, VIR, Sebring (which I do not rate over Watkins Glen), and Road America are all better circuits than COTA or Indy road course.
Still a shame they only chose these 3 circuits, they have the means to go out and license/ develop more of what America has to offer and let's not mention the lack of Asian circuits too on the official calendar. Guess focus is on AC2 already...
Nords when?...NEVER ... not in ACC would be nice... it would probably cost the full value of the game for the one track (i believe it is worth even more than that)
This is easily the worst DLC for ACC. I felt ripped of. 18USD for Watkins Glen. The 2 other tracjs are so boring to drive that i have not even bothered more than drive them to get the three stars for TR. The english track dlc was the best.
My gut feel is they had intended to include more with the pack, but weren't ultimately able to for whatever reason. My guess would be licensing issues, but that's pure speculation on my part.
I'm happy that ACC keeps continuing making content for us. Also they have every summer and winter huge sales on steam. They could've also quit and just keep focussing on making the next game. But they keep adding cars and tracks. I'm not complaining at all. Only yeah Indianapolis is a weak track.
im sorry but this dlc is big fat L taken on behalf of Kunos .... 100% needed to be either road atlanta/road america/sebring....have neither of those means i will not pay for it
Such clarity in your videos and you can really tell how much thought goes into them. Great stuff. 👏
Thanks Mark, very much appreciated :)

The video i been waiting for 🙌🏽🙌🏽

"Old-school cool". Chris, you are the best copy writer (narrator) around here. Rhythm, flow, competence, language... keep going!!
LOL Ok that last 2 seconds was comedy gold. nice video. thanks.
They would've made a butt ton more money by having those other circuits included, but hey maybe it's a financial year thingo, we may get a part 2 which includes the others
I would change the Indianapolis by Sebring or VIR. It would be much better choice imo.
Yeah, I think VIR would probably be the top of my list.
VIR is not good for racing. It is too narrow and needlessly twists around with few overtaking opportunities. It is a hotlap course.
I find Cota and Indianapolis incredibly boring to drive. Would have loved Watkins Glen, Sebring,VIR and Road America. Hopefully they could become available in the future

It is sad that ACC doesn't offer many more car and track choices like AMS2, PC2, AC, iRacing, RRE, etc...
Get over your infieldphobia, once you get the hang of it, its super fun. Races there are very close and keep you on your toes the entire time!

Three tracks for one quarter the price of the game.....? I'll pass...
This is easily the worst DLC for ACC. I felt ripped of. 18USD for Watkins Glen. The 2 other tracjs are so boring to drive that i have not even bothered more than drive them to get the three stars for TR. The english track dlc was the best.
hi dude I just want let you know I'm watching through this now also I'm happy when I watch your video
but muh ovals :(
weakest dlc so far. love Kunos but maybe it`s a first sigh that they not as good as we think.
@@ChrisHaye yeah, i heard about licences. but they are OFFICIAL game so ..)))
im sorry but this dlc is big fat L taken on behalf of Kunos .... 100% needed to be either road atlanta/road america/sebring....have neither of those means i will not pay for it
votinng with my wallet and. not buying this.
Fair play my dude!
