Every morning I have 600ml fresh veggie juice made from carrots, celery, red capsicum, cucumber and beets (which we call beetroot), and sometimes parsley or fresh peppermint. I've been doing this for decades. I'm 68 and am totally fit and healthy, not on any medication, no arthritis, never sick, and exercise 1-2 hours every day. Thanks Dr Berg for all you do to promote healthy eating and lifestyles.

@@bradh6185 I made the juice fresh with a juicer. Beets are probably the hardest veggie to juice and burnt up a cheap juicer after I got my gallstones dissolved. Bought a metal Jack LaLane juicer and it has held up very well. I buy fresh beets, carrots, apples & ginger and juice them all. All of them work well together to melt gallstones. Pure beet juice even though it tastes sweet is very high in acid so you need to add the other ingredients. Drink on an empty stomach in the morning.

At 77 I have suffered my whole life from a whole range of symptoms that no one ever realized was the result of a non-alcoholic fatty liver. Now that I know what is causing these symptoms I am able to deal with them and begin to see improvements. When I first read the list of symptoms in your book on the Body Types, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I had almost every one listed there! Now I am happy to say that things are beginning to get better for me. Thanks so much, Dr. Berg!

I like to bake beets (the root) like a potato and then eat them skin and all. They take on a toasty sweetness that is far tastier than all other preparations. I've also tried to eat the greens (the leaves) but when I steam them they become limper than over cooked spinach. And raw they have a salty taste. So for now I'm sticking with the baked whole beets.

They have to be soft as far as I'm concerned as the texture is great that way. I then bottle with sliced onion and I tell you what, they are very yummy! Your videos are very motivational btw! I have stayed on track for about three weeks and am now doing two meals a day band fasting for 19hrs. I am hoping to get to one meal a day asap but will know when it's time. I have cut out all refined carbs i.e. pasta, potatoes, rice, bread and anything with flour. My inflammation is almost a thing of the past and my energy levels have escalated. I am exercising more frequently and have ditched metforming and levothyroxin... not that my MD knows as they are too busy to fit me in with COVID still taking precedence. Hi Dr Berg,
As you requested I share my story. Because of your videos I started if without keto. First results started to come, like getting rid of heartburn and problems with my stomach( I was never after the weight loss results because I was 1,93m and 90 kilo’s) but I realised I had a bigger problem. I had slowly been getting insulin resistant, which I noticed now because after the meals I had which were bigger in size I started getting really tired and thirsty. So I stopped eating lots of carbs. More health benefit results started: I lost 10 kilo’s which I never realised I had on. I like my body much more now, some people think I’m too thin but I don’t feel that way. I also got rid of lower back pain, had fewer heart palpitations, I felt more positive, less or no pain in the joints. I was 37 years old and felt bad about myself and my health, I am now 39 and feeling a lot better. My problem wasn’t really visible because I wasn’t overweight but I was someone that had lots of exercise. And when my sports came to a hold because of corona my old habit of eating lots of carbs stayed I started to have problems. I think I am one of fewer examples of someone not really overweight but I had messed up my body with too much carbs in all these years.

Well 4 months ago my blood pressure was 190 over 90. It happened in a acute stage. I thought this is it that either I am going to die or stroke. Since I followed your diet, now my blood pressure is 110 over 70. Now I have to say with great humility for saying thank you to you. Now I go to work from 6 am till 5 pm without eating because I don't fill the urge of hunger that I have to stop by Mc Donald or Burger King restaurant. No wonder fast food restaurants use very highly toxic cooking oil. May whoever read my comments and follow his keto diet recommendation is a fortune. What Dr. Eric Berg teaching is priceless.

Beets are great when lacto-fermented. The root gets a nice tangy flavour and the leftover brine is known as kvass and is a great probiotic drink on its own. You can make several batches of kvass from the same roots.

If you bought it off Amazon it was most likely boiled and the bacteria are dead. It isn't probiotic anymore.
Make your own. It really takes no skill at all. Drink as much as you like, just remember that such a live product will most likely cause some serious bowel movements if your body isn't accustomed to it :)
Kvass can be made from many different things, the most popular is leftover bread. I happily drink the brine from any fermented veggies I make, I even deliberately use less salt to make it tastier.

Dear Dr. BERG I have a long history of assaults on my body beginning with running behind DDT foggers, then having 14 teeth filled with mercury, then chewing on solder until I contacted acute lead poisoning. Lastly two years of heavy exposure to TCE trychloreethelene. Of coarse, my limbic system went crazy and then I got MCS (multiple chemical sensitivity disorder) which disabled me for over twenty years. I got some relief from DNRS (Dynamic Neural Retraining System) but still have low energy issues. Because I won a land mark case against the VA for the last two exposures I was able to buy a 63 acre farm that my wife and I love to work on, but as you can imagine, it's a load of work and I'm getting on in age (66). Three years ago the 1890 home stead burned and we're building a timber frame house to replace it. We've cut our own trees, we're milling the logs and are going to do as much of the structural work as Possible. I have converted over to your system of a healthy Keto diet. I have mixed results: fewer cravings, less hunger, but my energy levels and stamina have not improved much. I was not chelated for any heavy metals. Given my history, is there anything you could advise other than EDTA chelation? My wife and I are both grateful for all the knowledge and passion you have for helping people and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It's nice to find a doctor who knows what he's doing.

I would also like to thank Dr. Berg again for all his educational information. I am three months into keto after having a high blood sugar reading and be put on metformin prematurely (after one fasting reading of about 129). My blood sugar started trending downward after one week. I quickly got onto 18/6, frequently OMAD simply due to lack of hunger or schedule. In the past week or so I have been having daytime readings in the 4.3 - 5.0 range, including after eating, and fasting readings in the 5.3-5.5 range. The last is great as dawn phenomenon had been keeping my morning fasting readings in the 6-6.5 range until recently. The growing list of related complaints and ailments that have eased or disappeared now includes snoring and sleep apnea. Family members recently told me those have disappeared. Finally, as we are traveling, I suspect that healthy keto and IM help with jet lag. We are 7 hours away from home and I adjusted much easier than usual. Has anyone else encountered this? @Inese M good to know - I’ve always avoided them because as a child they tasted odd to me

I just watched your video on beets, which I know are very healthy and have known for a long time, and have only eaten them when I have gone to salad bars and gotten the sliced ones to put on the salad! Anyway, I want to buy some of the whole beats or by the nutritional beet supplement, In powder form(can’t remember the name of it)! I have been listening to so many of your videos, besides Dr. Mandrell’s, and also the two physical therapists, Bob and Brad! So I have been trying to incorporate a bunch of different things, from all three of you! And there was a doctor that I was falling before all of you… Can’t remember his name… And I think I’m still incorporating some of his knowledge! I am diabetic, but not for long, I am 72 years old almost 73. I have some congestive heart failure now. Have bad knees, especially the right knee, which is had the meniscus cleaned out twice!!! Trying to avoid the knee operation! Also have a bit of high blood pressure… Besides lots of pain that comes and goes in my lower back, besides my knees and my thighs, and my hips a bit… Also had metastatic melanoma twice, and was treated for it of course! Had a very large patch on the top of my head! Etc. Oh, about to get my cataracts operated on though. Trying to eat so much better now… Have said for years that I ate really good food and I ate junk also! Perhaps a bit more junk than the good food I think… I had been a fairly strict vegetarian for over 20 years… But you can still eat junk when you’re vegetarian! Had lived and worked at a place in Boston years ago, called Hippocrates health institute where we just ate raw foods/salads, etc.! Started by a doctor Ann Wigmore. We ate a lot of sprouts there! I got to go down and be the head of the sprout room for a little while... people would come there and go on cleanses… There was an older woman there when I was there who had cancer, and I think it was kind of a last resort for her to try and take care of the cancer naturally… I know you’re very interested in nutrition… I have been for years! Thank you for all your time and effort and expense and making these videos to educate all of us out here and help us also! You are very awesome! And so is your wife!

Hello Dr. Berg, Thank you very much for another informative video. I am following you for the last 6 months and applied the keto diet my life it helped me to reduced my edema, water-resistant, reduced depression, and significantly change my weight by doing 18 hours of fasting only I found this method by watching your videos. I applied all different methods of diet and did a lot of exercises but nothing worked but keto. Once again thank you very much for spreading the best info to this world.
