This song came on the radio this morning . It was one of my beautiful son's favourite songs ...I lost him in 2019 , he was 26 years old ....This is for you Lewis, always with me ❤xxxxxxx
True, she is so good, deserves more recognition. I feel like it's cool to be underrated, but then as soon as they do get some recognition they become overrated and everyone hates them lol.
"Conjure" couldn't be a more appropriate word. A lot of the entertainment industry, particularly the 2 to 4 minute pop song medium, is nothing but spellcasting. I mean that. The effect pop culture has on youth and even on grown adults is almost trance like.
I gave birth to my son Daniel 12 weeks early yesterday and just remembered this amazing song. *Daniel, when I first saw you, I knew you had a flame in your heart*.
Awwwwww, so beautiful. :-) Daniel, wee fellow, Happy 2nd Birthday, whenever your special day is. I hope your bond with your wee son is special and strong. I hope you both bring each other untold love and joy. A son, is truly a precious gift. Mine is now a young adult and i hardly see him these days, primarily bec of logistics, but i miss him always and he's always within my heart, soul and mind. Peace and positive blessings to you both. x
Wow - came back to this song 3 years later to find unexpected comments. Yes he's absolutely thriving in life and after overcoming many struggles in his first month's he is now 3 and full of energy, love and happiness. He brings us joy and laughter every single day and has the biggest ocean blue eyes. Thank you for your kind words :) ❤️❤️❤️❤️
It’s been 13 years and I am still not over this song. That is what true art does to you. This has to be one of the most well written and well produced songs of all time and still somehow remains hidden and underrated.
I’m here in 2019, this song reminds me of a very dark time in my life almost 6 years ago. I used to play this song on replay, for some odd reason it made me comfortable in my depression. I used to cut almost every week and I suffered from anorexia. Was 30 pounds underweight and cried everyday. Today I’m a completely different person. Now I’m reminded of how far I came and I actually have tears of joy. If you’re suffering from depression, you have to find the light 💡 it won’t find you. you have to run towards the light.
So glad you are out of that now. My son is called Daniel and he was like that too. This always makes me think of those times, and fortunately he doesn't do that any more. Life is fragile, I will always hold onto this song. 💖
Shannon this song helped me so much when I was in my deepest depression as well. I starved myself, couldn't get out of bed. Couldn't leave the house. I would stay up late and listen to this song over and over again. You're so right. The light will come if you keep running towards it.
The same for me. Nobody accept my homosexuality and I was very alone.. this song help me too.. now everything it’s better but I’m love this song even if it’s remind me a sad période of my life ♥️
This struck a nerve. I was watching a bbc documentary about Kate Bush and Natasha Khan is a fan and she was discussing what Kate meant to her...I remembered she sang Daniel and here i'am. I've just been diagnosed with depression and anxiety and have started medication. I've been in dark place but I want to get better. I will get better.
Always reminds me of my Step Brother Daniel. I sent him this song years ago and he loved it. He died a couple of months ago. It makes me sad and happy at the same time, listening to this. RIP Dan
We said goodbye to our stillborn son Daniel 7 years ago, and I listen to this song every night in February as a tribute. I am not sure she knew how impactful this song might be…
As a writer, I have to say, this is one of the most beautifully worded songs I've ever had the pleasure to listen to. Quite simply, it inspires the shit out of me.
This song always makes me feel so nostalgic, melancholic and hopeful at the same time. It reminds me of a very turbulent part of my life. I used to listen to this song at that time 🥹
Back in January 2019, depression took away from me to my best friend in life, Daniel. I'm sure he would've loved this song! This reminds me of the first time I saw him, when I met him. All the laughs, the walks, all the beers we shared together, all the concerts, all the funny times. Daniel, I wish to see you in heaven one day. You were an angel on earth, I'm sure you're an angel in a cloud, the shiniest and the fluffiest. Love you for an eternity... Daniel Torres Ramirez
It seems to me that all the truly talented ones are the ones that fly below everybody's radar. Not a single one of my friends has ever heard of my favorite band, Nightwish, and she is one of the most talented singers of all time
It’s the same for me with ‘Mama’s Gun’ they are a superb group fronted by Andy Platts. Who blows Ed Sheeran and Lewis Capaldi out of the park vocal wise. Listen to his other group as well ‘Young Gun Silver Fox’...
I know and this is what i just typed within 2 of her you tube clips. She is naturally beautiful and exotic looking. It's her wonderful South Asian/Pakistani roots. I've visited Pakistan and i saw countless naturally beautiful women and men. Best wishes to you and peace to this troubled world.
One of my favorite songs for ever. My best friend and love of my life is named Daniel, and I always cry listening to this song. Even when I was just a good friend to him, I always found a home in his eyes because he set fire to my heart.
@@eglerusso we were only good friends (I was the one in love) and with time I parted ways because being together -as friends- broke me, but sometimes we run into each other and it's still a good friendship. Why is this song, not matter the age, why do the other parts of the world , not appreciate a masterpiece of a song. And natasha and band. My youth and adulthood is this song and my life. I'm so lucky this song gave me the strength I needed. And still giving beautiful energy always.

What a beautiful message. You’re not that troubled if you have that intelligent perspective on a past relationship. I sent this song to someone who broke my heart cuz I thought he was troubled and wrong for dumping me. I now know that Daniel was right and I was the troubled one. That realisation still motivates me to try be better every day. And I do, I keep trying and I’ll continue to. Until the day I save myself from myself

Try an artist called "Ren" he from Brighton and does everything independently. He is not signed but is doing really well. He is original and very talented.

I hear this as "in the gold and blue car you took me to the darkest place you knew and set fire to my heart"...which makes so much more sense as kids riding off somewhere to park and make out.
The only version of this I had before today was the *mesmerising* BBC Live Lounge version she did. Hearing the actual single years later reveals a version you could dance along to as well. Either one is a treat, as the lyrics are so wonderful to listen to 🎶
Here. It’s 2024. But it’s throwing me back to when I was living up my best indie/alternative life
Saaaaameee
More adventures yet to come ceecee!
I'm feeling the same!
Same, I remember clearly seeing her live opening the concert for Coldplay, one of my best memories of those times.
no lie told, had my 180 gb ipod, head phones, chillin in my Brooklyn apt laying on the floor curating playlists to play for the co workers.

Or it becomes all "Oh she's not as good as she used to be...", or "She's sold out..." :-)

"Daniel"
Daniel, when I first saw you
I knew that you had a flame in your heart
And under wild blue skies
Marble movie skies
I found a home in your eyes
We'll never be apart
And when the fires came
The smell of cinders and rain
Perfumed almost everything
We laughed and laughed and laughed
And in the golden blue
Crying took me to
The darkest place you knew
And set fire to my heart
When I run in the dark, Daniel
To a place that's vast, Daniel
Under a sheet of rain in my heart, Daniel
I dream of home
But in a goodbye bed
With my arms around your neck
Into our mouths the tears crept
Just kids in the eye of the storm
And as my house spun round
My dreams pulled me from the ground
Forever to search for the flame
For home again
For home again
When I run in the dark, Daniel
Into a place that's vast, Daniel
Under a sheet of rain in my heart, Daniel
I dream of home
When I run in the dark, Daniel
Into a place that's vast, Daniel
Under a sheet of rain in my heart, Daniel
I dream of home

Crying took me to the darkest place
And you have set fire to my heart
When I run in the dark, Daniel
To a place that's vast, Daniel
Under a sheet of rain in my heart
Daniel, I dream of home
But in a goodbye bed
With my arms around your neck
Into our love the tears crept
Just catch in the eye of the storm
And as my heart ran round
My dreams pulled me from the ground
Forever to search for the flame
For home again, for home again
When I run in the dark, Daniel
To a place that's vast, Daniel
Under a sheet of rain in my heart
Daniel, I dream of home
When I run in the dark, Daniel
To a place that's vast, Daniel
Under a sheet of rain in my heart
Daniel, I dream of home
I hear this as "in the gold and blue car you took me to the darkest place you knew and set fire to my heart"...which makes so much more sense as kids riding off somewhere to park and make out.
You are so sweet, this made me cry. I have literally hid in the dark, just dreaming of home.
I was one of the "daniels" in this video. Takes me back.
oh wowww sure is a great memory!!!
Cool!
This girl is an angel x
It’s pure emotion and that’s all you can ask for in a person and an artist xxx
It's so good, even five or more years later. So haunting.
2021 and I still run back to you. Never forgetting this song ❤️😭
The only version of this I had before today was the *mesmerising* BBC Live Lounge version she did. Hearing the actual single years later reveals a version you could dance along to as well. Either one is a treat, as the lyrics are so wonderful to listen to 🎶
Beautiful, please release more.
