Weird to think that someone could have commented on a video in the early days of TH-cam at 25 and be 40 now ...well its not weird really but time goes fast I mean - I was 20 when this album came out and now I'm 30
I love how haunting and atmospheric Natasha Khan's music is. It's so hard to put into words just how her music affects me, it really grabs a hold and I feel almost hypnotised and entranced by it's otherworldlyness.
This is everything, her moves, the music, lyrics, my god, I am still at the first verse, first verse!!!! And I keep starting the song, over and over, can't get enough, it is soooo sososososo good!!!!
There is something so simple and beautiful about this video. Maybe it;s her makeup, or the way that her movements are obviously improvised. I', not sure, but I can say that Natasha is simply and naturally a gorgeous woman who gives her entire heart to her craft.
I LOVE THIS VIDEO. Iconic, fierce, vulnerable- the fluid camera work that follows her amazing choreography... I'm swept away... Natasha looks gorgeous. The backdrop is stunning and it perfectly mirrors the lyrics of the song: the turmoil of the sea and past hurt against the steadiness of the cliff sides and the "good man" now... I love it all. One of my favorite videos of hers to date!
I used to do some internet shifts for my college radio station and this song was on the rotation. I was immediately caught off guard at how incredible this song was. I love it so much so many years later. It is a wonderful piece of art.
Her music is so inspirational and captivating. Strong and beatiful woman, with a marvelous voice. Thank you for what you're doing, Natasha. I think, such music like yours, will never be forgotten.
Never see a big church steeple When I call you on the phone Never feel the rush of angels When we stay up late alone Never whisper you a great love story Only scream and cry and moan But you're a good man But you're a good man I keep telling myself to just let go Ooh, let go... of the one who took all your gold I get home and there's a love note waiting But only he is here tonight And the words, the promises you're making Only echo all these lies And for every sweet nothing you whisper Why is goodbye my reply? Cause you're a good man Cause you're a good man I keep telling myself to just let go There was someone that I knew before A heart from the past That I can not forget And I let him take all my gold And hurt me so bad But now for you I have nothing left Of all my gold A ghost from the past Has turned my heart black Am I ever gonna let him go? And get my gold back? And today I was a dead girl walking City light burnt through the tears Heard you say my name and get to talking About the love and all the fear And you saw all the pain I was holding And yet still you hold me near Cause you're a good man Cause you're a good man I keep telling myself to just let go There was someone that I knew before A heart from the past That I cannot forget I let him take all my gold And hurt me so bad That now for you I have nothing left Cause there was someone that I knew before A heart from the past That I can not forget I let him take all my gold And hurt me so bad That now for you I have nothing left Of all my gold
to me this song is amazing. she is speaking of the past love whom she cannot forget because obviously he was the elusive love she gave everything to please yet nothing was enough for this man to care. now she has this all around good guy in her life whom she doesn't have the same intrinsic link to, so now she is elusive one.
Everything she does and says is so pure,I fell in love with her spirit the first time i heard her, many years ago, noone took her place since. She really is an artist and I am so happy that in this ruined world, there are still some people who speak a 'language' that I love to hear. Dont ever forget who you are. Thank you Natasha. :) love from Croatia
💐Natasha Khan, i first heard of you approx 14 to 15 years ago & i've never looked back! You are IMPO, way too underrated! You really caught my attention & i was very intrigued by your amazing music and you really lit up the screen! You're so very beautiful and photogenic. Your music is insanely good, you're wonderfully unique, you're incredibly talented, intelligent & ultra artistic. Your work and high level creativity....Pure art, liquid gold, so out of this world & i hope more people hear of your amazing name. Your many music videos speak volumes, about the amazingly fluid creator that you are. The words & sound of your music just awaken all of my senses & enter my soul with ease. You're masterful & you're superb!! Thank you ten fold, for the beautiful gift of you & your music, which evolves ever so beautifully.🙏
This song has been regular rotation weekly play for 10 years. I've never seen this video, but I looked up What's a Girl to Do recently, and I got fed this. Great video as well. I' ve never, until now, seen the singer up close. She gets the assignment.
I love everything about this song and video. The reflective dress that gives white, black part and then everything else is in midtones: so simple but so amazing!
This is the "album" or complete version. The single is the radio edit and jumps to the chorus early, cutting out some amazing and important lyrics. I'm glad this video is the song in it's entirety! :)
Lol I just imagined someone dancing like this at the club and I can't stop laughing. Imagine like "Roar" by Katy Perry comes on and a random person starts doing this dance! Too funny
@@joyogundare5167 you would have been fond of Asian tracksuit guy, as one of Toronto's many characters came to be known. I love the way Natasha dances - it's so raw and instinctual - like she's singing with her body. Also the haircut suits her perfectly. She's such a beautiful woman. As for the song, it's amazing as usual, Natasha can go no wrong musically. I love her :)
SHE IS SO RAW. This is clearly not choreographed or rehearsed. Some will love it, others will come to appreciate it in time after they become tired of staged emotions.
Johnny Football Two reasons I don't think it's staged: 1) it would look better 2) there would have been less editing. Some forethought was put into it, but it looks as though they just put the camera on and said "go for it" and "ooh, there's a nice rock, go do that thing you do over by that rock."
Starts with a low-key, percussive, close-up... ends with a windswept and transcendental long-shot. The expanse of grey sky, a lone figure glowing on the shore. I think it symbolizes a growing distance. Someone's taken all her gold. But she's taken back control of her place in the world.
You are unbelievably mesmerizing, enchanting, and contagious. Your energy is of the highest caliber. Thank you for sharing it with us. By the way, this has a total Gotye vibe, it would be beyond amazing to see you two do a collab.
She is a star. More than a superstar. Like the way she is wearing a black and white outfit to signify that she is possibly in two minds, though not totally black and white to represent more contrasting possibilities in these different minds.
I completely agree. I am a dancer too and I can tell she hasn't improvised! She is a good dancer and I love it (just like Kate Bush used to do in her videos, very contemporary kind of dance). Tell her she inspired me and 15 other dancers to create a choreography for our next show on this beautiful song! We love dancing on this master piece! Peace, love & adventure ;-)
Must be on my 50th view of this video... OMG - so beautiful...gorgeous artist.. gorgeous music.. loved Kate Bush... Love Natasha... the tradition of beautiful english heart felt female artists continues... Go girl xx
This song remind me of a time in my life. A time where I would go out and party every weekend and be the fun and cute girl. But when I got home thing where differens. I was sad all the time and I listen to music like this. Listen to this today give me a wird feeling I can't explain it
I had this time at my life too. And I was always listening to this song when alone in home, trying to figure out where that unexplained sadness came from.
This video is epic. A legendary piece of art in my opinion. As my mum once put on Kate Bush videos on and we danced together to her songs, in the future I will dance to this video with my daughter (well if i will have any) especially the dance moves in the last 30 seconds. This woman is so special and I am really happy that I am aware of her music....
Ten years later after its release ... I discovered this song...! Better late than never !!! Thanks Natasha for this masterpiece, epic video.

Phenomenal. When I am at my most emotional, I close my eyes and just move. Her distress is radiating from her through the screen.
Such a great song for so many people who experienced exactly what she is singing about.
such a harsh reality, but so beautifully and honestly treated.

This song is intrinsic so me. The suit half ethereal and half darkness is the dichotomy of life after true love.
