  • It's one of the best-selling 4x4 SUV's on the market, so what makes the Isuzu MU-X so appealing?
    There's a 3-litre 130kW/380Nm turbo diesel, 230mm of ground clearance and seven seats that give the MU-X a simple but capable go-anywhere ability.

    We purchased a top of range MUX in 2017 and loved the car but in January 2021. we were were wiped out by a driver who failed to give way at intersection hitting hard enough on drivers side to flip us completely over landing driverside down on road. All airbags deployed and other than relatively minor injuries walked away from a car that will be written off. Have ordered another simply because had we been in a sedan one of us wouldn't be here to tell story. Very safe car in my opinion.

    This car is suited in my country, well The Philippines have lots of bad roads and this car works fine and it does the job right when we visit relatives on distant cities, travelling within 3 cities is good.. loved the Mu-X

    We've had ours for 5 years now and I'll tell ya, it's still as solid and reliable as it was the first time we took it round for a spin. This vehicle is indeed the best value for money, and you're not paying for exterior/interior styling. You're paying for reliability and ride comfort. It's still serving my family pretty well, and without complaining. 😊

      Same here bro. The Mux may not be as flashy as its competitors. But it manages to hit just the right balance between looks and comfort. The 2016 and 2017 models is perfect IMO. The Mux is a humble SUV with a VERY SOLID reputation.

    Each has its pros and cons nga. MuX may not have the strongest or fastest engine, it may even have one of the loudest engine while idling and running. It may not even look cool or elegant. But I value my MuX. And WE value our rides. Because its features like space, reliability, relative ride comfort and ease of maintenance matter most for us.

    It is due to arrive in the second quarter here in SA and I must say from this review, that pricing has to be key in it's potential success, as it will take something out of the ordinary to knock the Toyota Fortuner off the top spot here.

      Running gear generally refers to engine , transmission etc . The Isuzu is also a low stressed engine , it doesn't punch out the power of the opposition but will out last them by 200,000ks .

    A number of CA's reviews have suggested that the current top end utes (Wildtrak & Amorak for example) are now becoming viable alternatives to some of the ute based SUVs, especially at the lower end of the scale. It would be interesting to see CA pit the best 'Leisure Utes' against some of the similarly priced SUVs.
    Personal experience tells me that the Wildtrak certainly rides better than the boaty, under-dampened Fortuner - it would be interesting to see what the experts think.

    • @andyshazza
      @andyshazza 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seriously who the hell wants or ever need a diff lock and I’m guessing you have never driven off road if you are requiring downhill descent control.
      These MUXs with a 2 inch lift will go everywhere most 4x4 need to go and not break down. Reliability wins!

      MRBurnie1 thank you for kind answer and respond. isuzu mux was already in our market about 2 year. and this year 2017. Chevrolet Trailblazer will be sold in our market. i love isuzu with their engine design but the power is quite low. yes i know their power to weight ratio is kind balance. reliability of isuzu is not an big issue for me because i have isuzu panther they are great car.. i also like trailblazer .. they have good engine power, torque, quite amaze me. comparing it with Pajero Sport... when i drove a car with high spec like trailblazer, make me confidence...:)

    mu x is cool but the engine is too weak for loading and major off road.

    • @seankurth4371
      @seankurth4371 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Isuzu engines are weak because they're understressed for reliability. They don't have the power of high-strung competition like the Pajero, Patrol, or Touareg, especially considering how big and heavy they are, but will outlast them by at least 100k miles. You simply can't get a more reliable drivetrain from a midsize three-row truck-based SUV, unless you're willing to pay nearly twice the price for a Land Cruiser. But yeah, if you want to haul a trailer or do "major off road," you'd be better off finding a used example of something more powerful since the savings of the MU-X are only AU$5-10k. A Ford Everest only starts at $55k Dollarydoos, so the savings aren't that great for what you're giving up in the interior and engine compartment. But the savings are there, and if you're looking for a durable SUV for a bargain price, the MU-X is hard to be beat. The Toyota Fortuner is probably close to or at the same level of build quality, but it sacrifices rear visibility for style and in doing so ends up with quarter panel blind spots you could hide a house behind.
