@@janetpogue4970 hi Janet. You’re not alone. There are scores of people hoping, believing, supporting, and loving. I’m sorry if you’re scared. We’re about to find out what it was like a century ago. Anyway just came to give you a hug.
Both of these places were great. I love antique shopping/looking you can always find what you are looking for, even if it is the memories. Thanks for sharing and you have a great day with safe travels
Hi George. I was delighted to see a bottle from here in New Zealand turn up on your show! Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge. I love learning about the different types of things in your country, and it was pretty cool to see something pop up from ours!
@@TheAntiqueNomad let me know if you have anything on your bucket list from here. Paua shell jewellery is often very beautiful and appears in our thrift shops sometimes.
Thank u for showing the child"s antique sewing machine. We have our Great grandma's from cira mid 1800"s. I always like listening to u discuss them ! Take care
The Great Salt Lake really did have a resident flamingo. Pink Floyd escaped the Tracey aviary in 1988 and wintered at the lake until 2005. There was so much brine shrimp to eat that the aviary could not lure him with food in order to recapture him. He was well loved here in Utah and was immortalized in downtown Salt Lake City with a mural in 2021.
Enjoy your videos! They are so fun and informative. I started antiquing when I young in the late sixties and I still find something new anytime I go looking or when I watch youtube. I can't imagine when you would possibly have time to rest... I used to go to 4H camp in Dawson Springs every summer when I was young and made some of my best memories. Stay safe in your travels!
13:35 that’s one of his prints I don’t have but would like. He’s forever my favorite artist. Thanks for stopping at it!! 13:46 That Parrish on the far left looks like a Mazda Edison calendar print! Maybe it’s the much newer print but it’s still desirable. 15:47 I’d like that table please. 😁
I love Parrish, I only could afford the poster book prints from the late 1980s when I first collected but I look for the originals (or even the 1960s era) as well. That was a cool table too!
Good evening, George. The old books would keep me busy for a while. That black and white Staffordshire piece was pretty. I like the black and white pieces. I'd like to have the Fostoria _Jenny Lind_ pieces. The table next to the press-carved chair caught my eye. That lamp would be really nice restored to its original oil burning state. I like the Tepco _Pinecone_ piece. Pinecones and needles, oak leaves and acorns and thistle patterns always attract me. The enamelware pail, with the swirl effect, was really nice. Loved that bedroom suite. There was a child-size, round oak table there that would make a neat coffee table. I thought there were good deals there, too. Thanks for taking us along!
Hi my friend! I could get lost in old books if I had the time...spent a lot of time at my mom's knee while she went through them in used book stores when I was a kid. Jenny Lind has become more interesting to me as I've heard more about her stories. I'm a fan of the pinecone patterns too, always imagined I'd have some little mountain cabin and populate it with them! The swirl enamelware is a favorite of mine, even more than the speckled (which I like too...come to think of it, I like most enamelware). There were good deals, I was glad I ignored the reviews, what's "expensive" to one person may just have to do with what they're after!
Hi, Lena! hope all went well for you. I never know just what we'll talk about on The Nurse Flipper, but it always turns out to teach me a thing or too!
"That kid looks pretty fast to me. 😂 I remember traveling to a department store in Jamestown, NY with my Great Aunt to buy needles from a turn display like the one in this video. So many fun things to see. Thank you.
Loved the hat! The phone with shoulder pad didn't come like that. I remember buying the pad & it had adhesive tape that you used to stick it onto the phone. We had a white & black one for each of our phones. It came in many colors. It really did help when your were on the phone for a long time. I think it came out in the 1970's. Everybody wanted one! It was a hot item!
What a great antique mall. Thank you for Sharing. There was so many interesting. I always learn so much from your Videos. Please Stay Safe Happy and Healthy Have A Wonderful Day
So, woman didn't have to ride mtorcycles side sadle like on a horse. lol Wonderful show George! p.s. They had some beautiful enamelware, colours and patterns.
Yes, I really liked that piece! English items are very space economical that way. Lol about the hat, true that! I liked but didn't get the other items, they were fairly priced but not for resale
Hi George, that "stool" on a spring might have been a gardening stoll. I know the homesteaders use a pole, a piece of wood slice added to make a seat with NO base, for gardening, making it easier to weed or plant. I do however agree with you saying "until you fall off" lol.
@@SisterShirley Picture the capital T (the shape of the stool), you sit on it like it is a unicycle. You use knees and thighs to balance it and hold it up. Have to stand up and move further down the rows. I guess it would be even tougher after a rainy day. Seems it would just sink in the dirt.
Hi George, for the people who originally used these things, life would have been so different from ours. You can see that things were made to solve the kind of problems they had, like cutting straw. We have museums with similar things.
Friend George! Did you happen to check the price on that Jadeite tea canister? Canisters are so hard to find. And the gaping hole in collective. I am a new watcher? Your awesome 🎉
So I live in MO - and even all the way over here I regularly see local antique vendors that source their booths almost entirely from PA. PA must be a mecca in the vintage/antique world.
Hey Mr. George! I have a bit of hair loss thanks to Covid. I look for and wear vintage hats. I can’t be the only one. I was thinking if you find something exceptionally nice you couldn’t sell some? They’re really catching on around here in MO. Just an idea.❤
I just love your videos. Im wondering if anyone is familiar with a planter or figurine log with a baby and a skunk? My dad’s wife lost one when she moved. I would love to replace for her.
Hey George, have you changed your audio settings in the last two videos by any chance? The sounds quality seems to be less clear and sometimes sounds sped up
I have, but it actually is a processor that is to level out the sound and make it more clear. I'll try one without and see what the difference is. Should not be sped up at all though because it has to exactly match the old track or it won't work
I'm afraid I'm not in town for this one, but my friend I sell with is doing a double booth of Christmas vintage, so go check her out in #4079/4090! I intend to be there for the February show
Van Briggle wasn't really faked, and Roseville fakes are bad (they look spray painted and not well decorated, and eventually our government made them stop putting USA on them like Roseville did)
