Just as an FYI, the door doesn't look like it closes completely. You'd be surprised the devastation a weasel could do and they can squeeze into a one inch hole. Also... since there isn't a roost that I can see, if you had put the hardware cloth on the bottom, the cross beam 2x4s could be used as perches.

My husband and I built on top of a truck bed frame. 2"×4" attached to the frame, took 2 24"×24" rabbit cages remove one side on each, put together to make a 24"× 48" grow out cage. There are 3 cages mounted on top. Above the cages a roof with a tarp to keep the sun and rain off. If it is windy we can drop the sides of tarp down to keep the rain out. The cages hold our rabbits and are presently parked on the garden. They are moved at least 2 to 3 times a week. Fertilizer for my garden.

Such a classic cattle dog move: walking out the door carrying a hammer 😂

Just talking away while your dog is messing around with your hammer 🤪

Love your videos Chuck! I would recommend spending the extra money and getting you a automatic chicken door! You will enjoy it on those long days when you just want to rest

This is crazy timing. We just built a similar structure yesterday at our homestead! At this time, we plan to leave it on the ground for either meat birds or rabbits, but now we are giving a second look to an old trailer that we have sitting on the farm. These animals might go mobile and see the world, just like yours.

Good luck with that contraption. I don't see that housing birds for long if you plan on leaving it on pasture over night. The predators will have a field day on your chickens feet an toes. You might want to add another layer of chicken wire on the floor at an offset angle. Those birds won't be doing a whole lot of scratching manure piles with no toes and feet. 🐔😳 Just a bit of food for thought. 🤷🏾‍♂️

That looks like a real beauty! I'm looking forward to seeing how it performs. There just might be one of those gems in my future!
    Take care and God Bless.

I enjoy your videos. One tip I'll pass on: when screwing the corrugated sheets, the screws should be through the top of the sheet. Screwing in the gully allows water to accumulate rather than draining away. The accumulated water will also find its way down to the timber.
    Keep the videos coming
    I watch from Australia

Nice build. I like the idea and concept and being on smaller acerage im going to be doing something similar. I noticed you didnt put in roosting bars and the door didnt shut all the way. Both concern me so i will do those a bit different on my build but i love this design and idea overall. Thanks for sharing. God bless you and yours brother.

There’s an automatic solar coop door with dusk2dawn sensor and the door is similar to a roll up garage door-the idea is that it requires less clearance above the door compared to some of the other automatic coop doors. That might be an option in case you wanted to mitigate the possibility of someone forgetting to close the coop door at night. Just my 2 cents.

Take 2x4 wire 2 peaces 10 feet will make a 4 foot tall hoop a over top. Full ends with 2 5 foot peaces tie where it touches cover with a 8x10 tarp

No experience with chickens here. How do you get the chickens trained to come back to the egg mobile nightly?

only 13 2x4...plus wire, hinges, wire, pvc roof, hardware , walking board and a trailer....guess that is a bit much for the title lol

My concern is that animals like raccoons can reach through the wire floor and pull the chickens legs off (or at least hurt them). I raise quail and have been warned about this.
