    After a day on the farm with you I'm ready for a nap...a real eye opener to some of the daily grind of farming...day in..day out..no vacation or sick days...think before you drag animals home...think about it alot..

    Yes, I agree a mower is excellent at rapidly opening new spots for water flow.
    What other TH-camrs don't show is that method you developed to put in step-in posts without getting out of your vehicle. That is cleaver.
    May God bless you.

    What a great video, little bit of everything! You folks are getting to be my favorite farming channel...God fearing, kind hearted, hard working and straight to the point with no BS...excellent recipe for success! Thank you for another glimpse into life on the farm. God Bless you and yours Chuck and Sondra. ❤🙏🏻🇺🇸

    Compost the paper bags. They are great for starting new garden beds. Put them on the ground to cover all the existing vegetation, then bury them with compost or wood chips or whatever soil you have on hand. They prevent weeds from coming up and break down over time.
    I try my best to only buy feed in paper bags for this reason.

    Again, just so envious that you guys in the US can farm that way, and sell well what you farm. None of what you do, which is for me the most respectful to aninals and environment, would be allowed in the EU. We are so f*ed up by the regulations created by big Ag industries that you would probably end up in jail for feeding good food to your community...thank you so much for showing all your hard work and how sustainable high quality food is made.

    I see folks use the feed bags to plant potatoes. Poke a bunch of drain holes, roll the bag sides down like your sockets, then roll it back up a little at a time as you add soil to your spuds. Maybe a local 4H group might want them ?

    I love and appreciate ya'll's show
    I subscribe couple dozen homesteading farming channels.
    Each one has it's own flavor and is unique and different.
    Each one shows how they do it and how and why it works for them.
    Each one has something to offer in practices and purpose.
    Yours is absolutely one of my favorite channels to watch if not my top go to.
    Thank you for sharing your journey and experience and for showing us how we can farm.
    God bless you folks and your labors of love.

    Maybe not helpful for you, (not much cold weather there I imagine?) but our paper 50lb feed bags we use for winter insulation. Stuff em full of hay or straw, and jamb them between the coop n barn framing. The ones that get nasty we pull the hay out for bedding, toss in trash and replace. The plastic burlap type ones we use to sell fertilizer by the bag.

    Have you watched Pete on Just a Few Acres? He has a smaller operation with pigs, cattle, and chickens, but uses portable grain trailers. He has a video doing the math over getting the grain in bags. Just something to consider.

    • @SheratonParkFarms
      @SheratonParkFarms  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. We are fans of his. Most of our feed is bought in 2000lb totes. We just occasionally have to buy in bags because the mill only sells it in 50lbs.

    • @SheratonParkFarms
      @SheratonParkFarms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. I actually do work another job. What I don’t show on TH-cam is getting up every morning at 4:30 and going in to the office (I work from home 4 days per week) at 4:30 and working a couple of hours before anyone else gets up. Then I’m in and out multiple times per day for calls and zoom meetings. I also check and respond to emails all day from the tractor, field or shop. I shoot video footage as things are happening during the day (like in this one) then I get another hour or so on the computer for work later in the afternoon. Video editing is usually wrapped up around 10:30 or 11:00. Then it starts all over again.
      I’m not saying all that to prove a point or justify but there is a lot more goes into this thing than we can even begin to show in video.
      Thanks so much for watching. Appreciate the comments.
