- When our little herd of Highland cows recently arrived on the farm from Nothlana Valais Black Nose, Barra’s best friend, Skye, stayed behind. So we asked if Skye, their favourite, could come and live with us as well and we were delighted they said yes.
Today was the day and it was the happiest of reunions!!
This is why we escaped the rat race a few years ago. We had no idea we'd end up here but we are so grateful we have.
We intend to enjoy the journey in this new life we’re building on the smallholding, not rush through it, so that means changing the way we do things. We try to find a solution that means we can slow things down, enjoy the day, and worry less about where we are going and more about where we are.

This is a fantastic video! The reunion was such a happy moment, a great reminder of one of the reasons why we homestead.
