    The only thing that would've worried me about a universe where Halloween went to the direct-to-video purgatory, means that we could've gotten a new film nearly every year. . . And if taking most of Dimension Films' direct-to-video films, especially Hellraiser, the bar would've kept getting lower and lower until we got something on the same level of awfulness of Hellraiser Revelations or whatever. Two Faces of Evil still sounds like a really interesting entry, all things considered.

    I think some of those cancelled parts/continuations in the Halloween franchise happened because they didn't believe in the product itself so instead they made a bigger deal out of Laurie Strode/Michael Myers storyline minus the siblings angle and it all went downhill from there 🎃🎃🎃

SOMETHING but it was unknown to literally everyone even the fucking writer (they literally only set up stuff to "bring in mystery" for the sequel), and then we have Halloween 6 where "everything comes to ahead" even though all of it was pretty much invented on the set because most of Daniel Farrands' script didn't make it into the movie. Sorry for the run on sentence, but I'm pretty much just agreeing with you. H20 did almost have a scene where 4-6 would've been canonical but it was deleted in fear that Laurie would've been seen as a terrible mother for leaving her daughter in Haddonfield while she goes off to have her happy ending, allegedly.

    I feel the hobo homeless Michael Myers Halloween 666: The Origin is where Rob Zombie got the idea from.
    And the Michael Myers talking I feel he got it from Halloween 7: The Revenge of Laurie Strode to put in his Halloween 2 by making Michael yell "DIE!!!"
    Which the Michael Myers talking thing is a huge no no. The shape should never talk. So for that Halloween 7 script is the worst gravely unfixable one in this video, good thing we got the actual H20 instead of the disaster of Halloween 7: The Revenge of Laurie Strode and the way Michael is killed makes no sense in Halloween 7 script, since he was shot and stabbed in the heart many times in previous sequels, so I'm glad we got the H20 we got since Muchael doesn't talk and isn't killed senselessly, since decapitation was definitely the proper way to kill Michael than stabbing him through the heart.

    It’s a bit harsh and extreme to call Halloween III a “failure” and Halloween 4 a “groundbreaking success”. HIII had a budget of about 4 million and grossed almost 15 million. H4 had a budget of 5 million and grossed just under 18 million. The problem with HIII was that it made considerably less than Friday 13th part 3. Plus it and HII had been co-funded by Universal and Dino Delaurentis. Akkad only got a relatively small cut of the profits. So he badmouthed HIII ever since he bought control back.

      Well I'm glad he rejected horrible ones like Phil Rosenberg's Halloween 666: The Origin, which was going to feature a hobo homeless Michael Myers, plus stupid backstory of a Virtual Reality device and a portal where Michael Myers is pushed in by his long lost cousin Dana Childress at the end, in which I feel Rob Zombie got the homeless hobo idea from that script.
      Also I'm glad Moustapha Akkad also rejected the Halloween H20 original script originally titled "Halloween 7: The Revenge of Laurie Strode" because in that script at the end Michael Myers talks by saying Laurie's name before being killed by her with a long sharp pole vault (Olympics jump bending pole) to the heart, which makes no sense how Michael dies in that, because yet he survived many bullets and stabbings in the heart, so great job in Moustapha Akkad for rejecting that script, which would have made a senseless movie and Michael Myers talking by saying "Laurie" when he reaches out his hand to her while pinned with the van to the fallen log just like in the actual H20 movie we got is a big no no, I feel that's the script Rob Zombie got the idea of making Michael Myers talk in his crappy Halloween 2 (2009) movie.
      So yeah good that Halloween H20 original script was rejected and winded up getting what we got in H20 and the ending of the actual H20 movie we got made a ton more sense, as Laurie grabbing an axe to decapitate Michael Myers was bad-ass, the proper and most sensible way of killing Michael Myers putting an end to the Halloween Saga, until Resurrection ruined that and there that was all Moustapha Akkads fault, in which that is one of the few things I will always be mad at him for ruining H20's dope ending.
      If Moustapha Akkad was never killed in the bombings in Jordan, and was still in charge of the Halloween franchise, we would have never gotten both Rob Zombie remakes, and that garbage of 2018 trilogy, especially Halloween Ends, which is the worst one in the trilogy and the worst 2nd to last in the entire Halloween franchise, as the only movie Ends did not surpass on how horrible of a movie it was is Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 because he spoke in that one, had Rob never made hobo Myers speak in his Halloween 2, then Ends easily would be ranked last place. That's right it surpassed Resurrection, as the final straw pulled was Corey Cunningham taking Michael Myers mask off so easily in the sewer fight scene, at least in Resurrection Busta Rhymes did not do that, despite being equally unlikeable & annoying like Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell).
      So yeah I'm glad Moustapha rejected the horrible ones and would have still continued rejecting horrible senseless scripts, now that he is no longer with us, expect more horrible movies and TV shows to be made, as now I heard they are planning to do a Halloween TV show, which me being a John Carpenter Halloween purest, I am not a fan of that idea of a TV show, as it will fail because it will explain too much about Michael Myers making him and the story not interesting anymore. So yeah if Moustapha was alive there would be no TV show either.
      And yes I get Moustapha Akkad wasn't perfect, I get Halloween 5, 6, and Resurrection were terrible, but atleast it is not what you see today. Today is much worse, it's literally unbearable to watch, mostly Rob's Halloween 2 & David Gordon Green's Halloween Ends are both so unbearable to watch, both made Resurrection look good in comparison.

    • @devontehuntley6274
      @devontehuntley6274 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      John wanted to go in a different direction, but you think he should have done that with the first sequel. Like instead of continuing the original story, he should have done Halloween III with Halloween II, so we get the idea early on this is an anthology series. To change things up so drastically with the THIRD installment is dumb. Even when Friday the 13th tried to move on from Jason with A New Beginning, they at least kept the continuity and the essence of Jason around, so John should have done that here, maintain the continuity but with a fresh take. He still could have done the Silver Shamrock angle, but connected it to Michael to provide an origin for everything. We could have had Laurie in the Ellie role where she relocated to California and something goes on with her dad and she teams with Dr. Challis, maybe a younger dude in this version to make it less weird, and they come across silver shamrock. It turns out, Cochran initially wanted children to commit murder so he made the costume that Michael wore the night he killed Judith which caused him to do so. So we have it all tie back to the beginning and we also learn where Laurie was that night, in the hospital following an incident where Michael tried to kill her but no one ever knew. I mean, John made this big reveal in the sequel about them being related, so this story should have expanded on that and gave us some answers. Michael would not be a focus since he is dead and its just about Cochran and his evil deeds, but we learn he has a role in Michael being the way he was. Boom, a more continuity based Halloween III we should have gotten!

    • @TheGeekInformant
      @TheGeekInformant  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@devontehuntley6274 Honestly, that's pretty ridiculous. The reason II was the way it was, was so that they could KILL Michael. While yes, I don't think they should've had a definitive ending to the first Halloween because it's scarier that way. However, to the producers, that was an "open" ending to have a definitive ending later on and that's what happened. The reason Halloween III (in its form) came after Halloween II, because at the time, Michael was dead, how can you possibly continue that? So they decided to make it continuing anthology films with a different Halloween situation every movie. Like Twilight Zone or Night Gallery. Having Halloween III connect to the original timeline would've made NO sense because at this point in time, Michael was definitively dead. You have the power of hindsight where we know more about the character at this point. At this point, it's 1982. The only two Michael Myers films show that he relatively human man that couldn't survive being blown up. And that's how it was for SIX YEARS! So, your Halloween III idea is idiotic because it doesn't line up with the timeline of the time and what the reasoning was behind Halloween III.

    • @devontehuntley6274
      @devontehuntley6274 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheGeekInformant Dude, you don't get it. I am saying the anthology route should have been done with the sequel so it made better sense for them to do that instead of continuing the story of the original and then deciding to change gears so much when folks would expect more Michael and Laurie. There was no need for them to continue the original to kill Michael. Just leave that original story by itself. BUT since they continued it, they made it clear this is a Michael Myers thing, so the third movie should have expanded more by showing us the backstory of Michael and tying the Michael and Laurie thing that we learned in the sequel. How dumb for them to not do that when Laurie was nowhere to be found during the original movies intro scene. Halloween III could have still been a new thing, but in continuity since its A SEQUEL and ought to have those ties. Michael did not need to be alive for them to continue the continuity since you have his backstory and Michael like androids to have as his successor. Look at Silent Night, Deadly Night, as dumb as that series is, they got rid of the main killer in the first movie and the sequels focused on a new killer while staying in continuity. Friday the 13th did this twice with Jason by the sequel and then Roy Burns in A New Beginning while again, staying in continuity. Why do Halloween III any different. A few tweaks with Laurie in the Ellie role, a younger Challis, Cochran being the reason form Michaels evil, we could have had a more continuity based movie that made sense to be in the series than what we got.
