Love my Bernie‼️🩵❤️🩵 I was deeply involved in the Bernie Sanders campaign in 2016. I saw, heard and more importantly, felt the enthusiasm behind his honesty. One of the highlights for me during that time was renting a school bus and offering seats to anyone who wanted to go hear Bernie speak at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. Needless to say the bus was fully booked in two days - and I come from a very small town in the PNW. The excitement, the hope for the future…. Fueled a passionate fire in the over-capacity crowd! It was incredible! I watched Kamala and Tim’s speeches in Wisconsin and Illinois (?), and even though I wasn’t there in person, I saw and felt the same electrifying messages they shared. I was also struck by the emphasis they both put on what Bernie so aptly coins, Income Inequality. hope that between now and the election, I will be able to go and see and hear this DYNAMIC-DUO!
As a person with social anxiety I remember mustering the courage to power through a couple hundred GOTV calls, it was so empowering. And in a lighter moment there was a primary, I forget which state, where people were stuck in line for hours after the polls closed and internet strangers were trying to get pizza delivered to them 😂
Birdie Sanders! I too was there within feet of his podium. That magical moment when the bird was drawn to him even while he so characteristically waved his hands as he spoke....my heart still pounds with the same hope, love and optimism he instilled in me and you. What do you think about the idea that not picking Shapiro is anti-Semitic is one of the dumbest questions I can fathom asking somebody with so much implicit idiocy in the questioner it made me want to the this podcast off, but I stayed for Bernie. Like wtf, if a woman gets hired over me would anyone think it’s cool to ask about “people are saying that this company is anti-male for not hiring you” while completely ignoring the million other reasons people make decisions. Media journalists who lack critical thinking and just ask questions and give air to the bone dead rhetoric driven by special interests is something that I find so severely disappointing. The win here for them is even asking the question and amplifying the implication. It’s like how scammers only expect to sink the like 0.1% of people who are stupid enough to take the bait. This question is driven by interests that want to make less informed people question the democratic tickets “loyalty” to Israel without any actual intent to highlight nuance and complexity. It’s a simple message that is perpetuated… You don’t blanket support Israel->anti-semitic. And the whatever percent of fools that fall for it is the goal. Sigh…

It's incredible seeing an 82 year old politician who is not experiencing cognitive decline. Bernie is still so well spoken and he is the only politician over 65 who I think still deserves to serve, he is such an important and needed voice and I think he inspired a lot of young up and coming politicians
Genetic.
Bernie stands among our finest American Statesmen and Stateswomen He is also one of the finest human beings to ever walk the planet. Yes, he has inspired many people to be active in civilized, civic action and also to run for/serve in elected office. Still, there are other members of Congress over 65 who do work for the best interests of our People and nation, all people and the greater good of the world. Elizabeth Warren, Tim Kaine, Bennie Thompson, Dave Trone, Jim Clyburn, Mark Warner, Dick Durbin and Maxine Waters, to name a few. Age is not the problem. Genuine integrity and dedication, along with intelligence and thoughtful consideration, are the essentials of truly serving in American elected office.
Thank you Senator Sanders, for your honesty and integrity - we are fortunate to have you fight the good fight!
Bernie is the only presidential candidate that has come to my dismal rural community and talked with the people here. He is absolutely right about corporate media's control and dominance of the information and misinformation.
LOL - MOVE OUT OF YOUR DISMAL COMMUNITY. LEARN TO EARN SOME MONEY! CORPORATIONS ARE WHAT GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES INVEST IN - YOU ARE SO NAIVE!
Bernie Sanders is awesome, and he rightly calls out the NYT for being more concerned about donors, and losing sight of the 99%, the people who matter most in this country. I'm so tired of the NYT shilling for corporate interests.
WHO ARE THE 99%? TALK ABOUT SHILLING - IT IS KAMALA, A-WALZ, OBAMA AND BIDENS THAT HAVE LIED TO YOU BIG TIME.
I do love Bernie Sanders! One of our greatest souls
You can’t do much better that Senator Bernie Sanders - the president we should have had.
77% want to expand dental, vision and hearing aid
75% wanna cut prices for prescription drug prices (at least to half)
72% want to expand social security
62% of folks said they want a single play medicare for all
The democrats have these numbers, now they need them votes
And 100% want lower inflation. But want doesn't translate to reality. Like all liberals you never say how to F'ING pay for it. And taxing the rich won't do it. There isn't enough money in the world for things to get promised. I'm sick of party fantasies. Where are the realists?
If they want the votes the need to take action on those issues. They're not doing it!
@@reidwhitton6248but out of the two parties what one would do something like this?
@@MahkyVmedia1 Neither party is going to deliver a universal health care system. If they were it would've happened by now. Just the opposite is happening. Medicare Advantage, which is private insurance, is expanding.
@@reidwhitton6248 they cant without the votes
Bernie Sanders is one of our truest public servants… Thank you Senator Sanders! Be well❤
It's not the interviewer's fault but the NYTimes has become truly awful with its pro-Trump coverage, the bad faith pro-billionaire coverage and I'm glad someone is saying it to their face.
Their reporting on Ukraine and Ukraine aid has also not been up to snuff, always making Ukraine look bad ever since the initial praise for them resisting waned by 2023. Making it look like the US sends cash over there instead of explaining how military aid really works etc.
IF BILLIONAIRES LEAVE THE NATION BECOMES POORER. IF BERNIE THE LIAR LEAVES WE BECOME RICHER.
HE'S A DOPE.
Bernie is spot on, brilliant, and Super American
Love you Bernie!!!!❤❤❤ THANK YOU for being our voice always❤❤❤
Bernie expressed perfectly why I ended my NYT subscription 6 weeks ago, after many years . 👍
I always pay attention to the commentaries in the NYT. My mother used to say, "If you want to know what's going on in the world read The New York Times."
@@acadianjr I started my NYT subscription in 2008, and the Washington Post as well,, which I have also recently cancelled. Both papers have changed.
@user-pm1lt6fr1w if you want to know what rich people and celebrities want, it's great. I canceled my subscription years ago and never regretted it for a second.
I ended mine after they basically conspired against him in 2020. Bernie would’ve beat Trump in 2016, I’ll never be convinced otherwise.
@@nicholaschavez6245 I think he would have to. His biggest obstacle would have been the campaign the NYT, and their ilk, would have waged against him. I wouldn’t have been surprised if they threw all their weight behind Trump. Maybe not overtly, but they would never have stopped implying and dropping seeds that he is a dangerous radical.
He’s an American hero. Should’ve been President.
Glad he wasn’t. He inspired several generations of small movements that will inspire others, and he never needed to rise to a level where he could be corrupted by his own outsize growth.
The movements live on specifically because he never became President 💛👍
@@djofortunato5799that’s an interesting take
Wonder where the threshold for remaining true to the grassroots vs appeasing the donor class lies?
He should have been, but when they scuttled his campaign they failed. Bernie Sanders won, and is still winning for us.
In 2016, he informed a new generation about what this country could be, and what was taken from us. He woke up millions who were beaten down from austerity, and the two parties of Wall Street. He set the stage for Biden to be more progressive, and hopefully Harris will continue this, and even more so. Future VP Walz, and his legislature were able to do in Minnesota what Bernie Sanders works for. The progress we hope will happen, will be, because of Bernie Sanders.
We need to make sure democrats, and progressives are elected so we can have the change we need.
@@djofortunato5799by that logic no good Democrat should become president. I don’t have rose colored glasses on but I like to think that Sanders would have held true to his morals.
He didn't kiss billionaire ass. 💋
Bernie you were right all along. Go, single payer! Go, Bernie
Love hearing Bernie justifiably smearing corporate media like the NYT right to their face. No offense to the host of the podcast - the guy is just doing his job - but Bernie is correctly identifying a huge part of the problem in American politics
Bernie is Always honest - without being mean. I love him!
BERNIE SMEARS EVERYTHING AND LOVES COMMUNISM - BUT HE NEVER LIVED UNDER COMMUNISM, EITHER.
WHAT A FAKE.
I love listening to Bernie, he is so honest, a great politician that truly works for the American people, I wish America has more politicians like him. Too bad, there are too many scums in DC, people like Bernie is rare in DC.
Astead Herndon is an excellent interviewer but Bernie is EATING HIM ALIVE🖤😅👍🏾
Yeah, the poor SOB lol. Everything Bernie says is right, though. Sometimes the truth hurts
Bernie is so good at pointing out media biases!! “There you go- You sound like a ny times journalist!” 😂😂😂
A Great journalist knows when to listen more than he talks. That’s their job
@@monicaweber2656 maybe the crux is the good journalists over good interviewers then you gotta hold politicians feet to the fire a little.
Lmao the politician being interviewed is the one being blunt, revealing the tough truthes, and asking the real questions.
Bernie Sanders is politically on the ball and always has been. We are lucky to have him.
Will always take the time to listen to Senator Sanders! Thank you Senator and greetings from 🇨🇦
Wasn't going to vote. But with Biden gone, getting to know Harris and really like how Walz talks, now I can
He succinctly ANSWERS THE QUESTIONS! How refreshing!
A Canadian here…. But I love Bernie Saunders and respect his views on American politics. Thanks for the interview. It’s a great one….
Love Bernie Sanders, has never wavered in his American belief always standing up for a true and fair America!
I don’t think Bernie walks on water, But I Do Appreciate Bernie saying Politics needs to help needs of working class folx. Appreciate Tim Walz is the VP pick.
Bernie, I’m from Oregon & we voted for you. Wish you woulda beat Hillary! Thanks for being you!💙🙏🌎
Cheetah I'm also an oregonian and wanted bernie
The fix was put in by the DNC, for Clinton. Just imagine if the DNC had backed Bernie, he could well have won, because we wouldn't have had the whole "Hillary's emails" BS 10 days before the election. That clinched it for Trump to win.
QUIT BEING AN OREGON LOSER. YOU ALMOST LOST LAST ELECTION - MANY HAVE MOVED OUT OF OREGON JUST AS A MILLION HAVE MOVED OUT OF CALIFORNIA. WHEN WILL YOU FACE REALITY?
CAN'T STAND OREGON ANYMORE.
Love my Bernie‼️🩵❤️🩵
I was deeply involved in the Bernie Sanders campaign in 2016.
I will forever be one of his Birdies.
Bernie Sanders has IT!!! Super Power for the people!!!
Let's remember that Senator Bernie Sanders opened the conversation about all of the injustices in this country. He gave us permission to fight back. Thank you, Senator Sanders for being our hero at a time when we desperately needed one.
YOU NEED A FAIRY TO PAY FOR ALL THE PROMISES THAT DEMOCRATS WANT TO GIVE YOU. WHAT IS OUR NATIONAL DEBT NOW? DO YOU THINK?
Thank God for Bernie Sanders saying it like it is. Democracy should be about 1 person, 1 vote and NOT billionaires controlling the process.
Love this guy. Not taking biased BS from the reporter, but in a respectful way.
Thank you, Bernie Sanders!
OMG Bernies mind has not slipped a single cog. He is freaking amazing!
Thanks for calling out the tragedy in Gaza! RESPECT
“Not another nickel!” Thank you Bernie!
I love how bernie calls out these clever little journos
It’s a simple message that is perpetuated…
You don’t blanket support Israel->anti-semitic.
And the whatever percent of fools that fall for it is the goal.
Sigh…
@@TTTroubleI don’t think the reporter actually thinks that, he just hears people echoing that and wants Bernie to address it.
Love hearing from Bernie. NOT GOING BACK!
Always love it when Bernie goes in on the media.
Midwestern fiscal conservative old goy here, I love this old New York "my soup is cold" Jew! Intelligent and very well spoken. He gets it, the bigger the middle class, the better the economy.
I voted for this guy in 2016 and would vote for him again.
Very nicely said, Mike! Bernie is just an absolute beauty!
GOD, YOU ADMIT YOU VOTED FOR A KNOW-NOTHING GUY LIKE BERNIE? WE'RE A NATION IN HUGE DEBT. THOUGHT YOU PEOPLE HAD SOME BRAINS, BUT SINCE TH-cam I CAN SEE YOU ARE VERY GULLIBLE AND NAIVE.
A masterclass in how to manage a media interview that belies (in this case) a NYTimes perspective by way of questions framed. It made me chuckle each time Sanders redirects this interviewer.
“Economic grievance “ not, it’s “economic reality” NYTimes.
And #EndCitizensUnited 🎉
Pretty sure this is my first ever TH-cam comment, and I just came here to say that Bernie Sanders roasting the NYT for their brazen abdication of journalistic integrity, is cathartic for every one of us who threw up our hands and finally cancelled our subscription this year.
I cancelled mine when they bowed down to Trump. I’ve been very happy with my decision.
Love this interview and how Bernie slaps the NYT reporter around relentlessly for being a corporate shill. We should remember that he may have beaten Trump in 2016. This is why Walz is an excellent pick.
He is so spot on with EVERY issue. Especially his views on Netanyahu - Sinwa. Not another nickle for war criminals.
I agree about criminal Netanyahu - BUT we are supporting a flawed, but true democracy against a death cult who WANT, set up their martyrs killed to fool decent people.
It's so hard to believe this man is older than Biden and trump. Our problem with Biden was not his age. It was the fact that he's in the throes of age-related decline. Bernie is absolutely NOT. He's still the best American politician alive
I think it's the stress of the office. If biden wasn't elected he'd probably be fine.
Love this Man❤❤❤
Bernie speaks my mind right from his heart.
I adore this guy. 😅
me too and I'm not even american. I think he is a marvelous congruent thinker. Hero.
Senator Sander's messaging continues to be on point. A clear-eyed vision that speaks to people's realities. He is right. We can do better with our messaging, and the burden lies with us to convince people to vote for progressive policies. Onward with our work.
Bernie is awesome
Harris/Walz is as close to a Sanders Administration as we'll ever get. Hoping for Bernie to get an important Cabinet appointment
Nah! Harris doesn't stand for anything. She's corporate all the way. It's all media hype. Trump can still win, which should make the Dems wake up and realize they need to serve the interests of the people.
Don't say ever!
Secretary of Labor would be a good position for Bernie. He would be the most progressive since Frances Perkins!
No. That was the Biden administration. We don’t know how Harris will behave as a president.
Biden is the most progressive president of Bernie Sanders’s lifetime as he has said.
Nah, it's a far cry from Bernie. Harris didn't even win a primary state and Bernie would be 1000x better
A true patriot!
Whether you agree with Bernie or not, you cannot deny he is honest and the man has integrity.
HE IS NOT HONES AND NOT TRUTHFUL. HE SPEAKS ABOUT THINGS HE NEVER EXPERIENCED LIKE MEDICAID.
Bernie is always right. We're proud of him.
Bernie is such an asset. So truthful, down to earth. He is practical and in touch. He is bold taking control of the conversation to bring it to what is relevant. His age and experience is an asset.
Yay for Bernie! New York Times you have really let us down
Totally agree. I used to think the world of the NYT and Washington Post. Now? Not so much. They have become sound byte seekers just like the rest.
I hope Bernie lives to be 120. We need him.
Yeah but he still needs to retire and have his own life lol
Love that guy, Sanders is a good fella.
I LOVE You Bernie ❤ …. 2016 was your Time, you would have Crushed Trump in that election. You are the Real Deal
Love me some Bernie.
Love Bernie. I, too supported Walz instead of other more high profile candidates.
The media and politicians didn’t get why we liked regular every day person Walz.
Bernie listed all issues we supported which Walz stands for.
Vote 💙💙👏🏽
Harris / Walz!
Bernie is still the realest out there. No BS, absolutely focused on the issues that matter to the actual average American
FRANCE ALREADY TRIED TO TAX THEIR WEALTHY WHO THEN LEFT. GROW UP.
Bernie! Love his pushing back on the standard NYT narrative.
He may well be right. This nightmare had to end eventually. And if it has, Trump will spiral down into total despair.
One day he won't exist at all due to age, and at 78, that time is coming sooner rather than later, whether hated or worshipped. That thought gives me great comfort.
Thank God for Bernie Sanders… I really don’t think we’d have people like Walz without Bernie
An American hero.
😊😊😊 Keep going Bernie! We love you❤
Love you Bernie! Thank you for everything you do! 💙💙💙
To me the interviewer constantly just saying “mmhmm” and “interesting” + pivot is a red flag that he wasn’t actually listening and just looking for the next opening to ask a gotcha question. Bernie was on point as always, however.
I wonder what the future holds... Bernie is a great speaker.
Senator Bernie Sanders a great American in service to others.
NYT's rightwing framing is so tired.
Nonsense - it's no use dreaming the world is perfect - we are realistic or lost. You need to look closer at Right Wing, if you think the NYT is. I loved Biden, (and Bernie) but he did the noble act in recognizing the serious danger. I also think Biden would have won, but it was right on the edge!!! Please!!! Any chance of the TFGs/GOP in power would have been an unimaginable catastrophe!
The best politician in the United States. An old dolphin in a sea of sharks.
