A lot of people are complaining about old models instead of new sculpts. But I personally LOVE IT! It’s just total nostalgia trip to happier days (plus I never had a collection of the plastic Bretonnians) so I am more than happy with the models provided.
So much this, I'm pretty confident the old sculpts will be repackaged in big sets for a decent price and as much as I love the newer AoS sculpts, I definitely don't wanna build and paint 40 or 50 for a big block unit.
I much prefer the older less detailed models. I feel that alot of the modern sculpts are over detailed for the sole purpose to show off the sculptor/designers ability to cram in as much unnecessary clutter as possible onto a model.
I’d put the website down as a ‘partial success’ than phrase it as a failure. You are right to let your runners run and leave the website target by the wayside though. I suggest doing so is evidence for workflow efficiency of the accountability system you are using. As you say, if it becomes problematic it could be set as a future target or even become an emergent target midquarter, as appropriate. I appreciate you running this series, I’m following it through youtube and finding it really useful to reframe my own project management knowledge and experience, and not just for hobby. Good luck on the quarter!
I love that some people are enjoying the project management side as much, if not more, than the painting and collecting side. In the end I did actually manage to make a few last minute changes to the website, enough to call it a partial success for the quarter at least.
WOW! So great to see this return of the chaos dwarfs! I played them back in the day... Where did you get them printed? Great paint job too! The nostalgia :)
Oh Mick, you cad. I literally took out my surprisingly complete Dark Vengeance box set yesterday to list it for sale but now I really want to make it a project!!
well me can never get that quarter stuff if works you you do it but what you got dun great stuff will be tuning in to what you do as do it and see all in MMXXIV
I don't typical comment on videos - but dear god are these gorgeous minis. Really been looking to get some of fabelzel's sculpts in anticipation of the old world (alas they won't be getting real rules), but this definitely spurred me on to actual getting them. Really nice work!
Awesome work Mick and i absolutely love those Chaos Dwarfs you painted. You are starting to get me to change my old ways and start buying contrast paints and give them a try. Best of luck in the next quarter and I’ll get in touch in the new year about us getting together for a chat on the podcast mate. All the best for 2024 buddy 🎉
Thanks a mil mate! At the end of the day, contrast paints are just a tool and with a bit of practice you can get more or less any effect you want from them! It would be an honour to have a chat on your podcast, it's usually only real hobbyists!
Loving the Chaos Dwarf minis and paint scheme! Would it be possible to share what paints you used? Would love to try and see if I can get em to look as nice as yours! :)
I usually keep the colour schemes to the blog, since there are much better painting tutorial video makers out there. Have a look at www.hammerthebacklog.com and search for Chaos Dwarfs
@@hammerthebacklogYes exactly, thanks for your quick feedback, let's go for 32mm even if I suspect these dawi zharr will look more massive than their cousins on the feeld of battle. We'll tell ourselves it's because of the chaotic mutation😅

Sadly, I am old enough that I consider the 6th edition Bretonnians in the new sets "the new ones"

Well done, the Fabelzel mini's look like a blast to paint and your Dogs of War are excellent.
Thanks a lot! He really is an evil wizard!

I was for a moment sure this was my comment. Lol I agree 110%

Go Mick ! Really great to see your progress....
The niche of deliberately retro 3d prints is delightful.

Thanks a lot. I printed them myself on an Anycubic resin printer.
Really enjoying these videos Mick. Seeing your backlog get hammered helps keep me chipping away at mine too. Thanks!
Great to hear!
I enjoyed this. Thanks. Fabelzel looks the bees knees. Subscribed.
Fabelzel is an evil genius.
I have a bunch of original chaos dwarfs unpainted. Centaurs and blunder buss. Not sure what I'll ever do with them.
I have been following you on IG for a while and did not know you had a youtube channel. Subscribed! Great video and great painting!
Thanks for coming!
Cool video mate, subbed, hoping Chaos Dwarves get rules with the Old World Release, they look very cool on the table.
Love these models currently painting my chaos dwarves. Where did you get the flag stickers?? X
@@elliotjoyce5854 Scaned and printed from the old chaos dwarf army book!

Thank a lot. Glad you enjoyed it, and I hope you enjoy the models as much as I did!
Them chaos dwarfs look great , thought they where originals at first, amazing paint jobs you done on em and all the models
Thanks a lot! I thought they were originals when I first saw them too

@@hammerthebacklog thank you! will do!
I just picked up some fabelzel stuff myself! Where did you get those banners for thr chaos dwarfs?
They are scanned and printed from the 5th edition Chaos Dwarf army book. I'm sure you could find a pdf somewhere....
Hi! Can you tell me what size you have selected for your fabulous dwarves? 28mm or 32mm? Thanks in advance 😊
I guess you are buying them from a third party printer rather than printing yourself? I found the 28mm to be too small
@@hammerthebacklogYes exactly, thanks for your quick feedback, let's go for 32mm even if I suspect these dawi zharr will look more massive than their cousins on the feeld of battle. We'll tell ourselves it's because of the chaotic mutation😅
What company does those Chaos Dwarf sculpts?
Fabelzel!
great thanks

Where could I order some printed chaos dwarves?
I ordered some from 3dforg3dcom before I got my own printer.
How’d that beard taste? I’m impressed you kept it on for so long
It was pretty dusty!
god I love them .. where did u find the STLs? and I love the way u painted them sooo old school ;) (lammasu does not have the original head tho?)
No, nothing is like the originals! They are completely new and unique, just in a similar style to the GW ones. Search for Fabelzel on thingiverse
@@hammerthebacklog ah wow u sculpted them in 3d? Great job mate they look the part 100%! Bravo!
@@n3r0n3 Fabelzel sculpted them!
Not so happy with the list we got in legends. Missing kdai destroyer, basic units, no shotgun? No small centaurs...
