Love the whole perspective and goals setting with points approach to everything! 😀

Thanks a lot! it's definitely working so far. I've painted more in the last year than the previous 20 years combined

Great video, Mick! I also have a decades long backlog. How interesting you have a Green Knight. I bought mine back in the 90s, but I wasn't going to paint it until I thought I could do it justice. Your video has inspired me. I'm a much better painter and modeller now, so I'm opening the box! Cheers, mate!

That's really cool to hear. He's a lovely fun model to paint, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

The Bretonnian project looks so good! Need the inspiration, my own Brets have stalled out after 6 knights, 10 bowmen, 15 men at arms and a Damsel. I have 3 more knights, 5 mounted yeomen and the defensive stakes in progress.

Looking forward to seeing what is to come. Because of you I now have a fully painted 2k dwarf army that I started like 20 years ago

These videos are awesome, and your battle report with the starter set was the best I’ve watched in a long time. Love the style and everything you’re doing.

I didn't know about this channel. I also have a huge backlog to work in. I like your system quite a lot. I had thought of making an Instagram account to upload pics of models and WIPs for accountability. Good to know I'm not alone in this! Cheers!

No idea how I managed to miss that you had also started a YT channel. I must have missed that blog post. Great stuff as always Mick. Mark @ Backtothehammer

Really good idea, and well presented. May consider doing something similar myself.

I love this idea I think I will use this as my goal for the new year seeing as how it will take me the rest of this year to get organized and set up for it between work ^_^

Great stuff, Mick! I'm in a similar situation to you in that I used to collect obsessively as a kid in the late-90s and early-00s; however, I began to feel like it was all for naught and so sold off most of my collection, and have recently started re-collecting. My issue has always been that I have quite a short attention span, and so will buy a load of minis, paint one or two of them and decide I want something different almost immediately. It's infuriating but I, like you, am now trying to make a concerted effort to actually finish what I have (or at least most of it) before spending my hard-earned pocket money on more toy soldiers. Interested to see what's next, and how you get on!

Thanks Sam, sounds like we are in a very similar boat! I actually started a great sell off about ten years ago, but then got bored with that process too! I got rid of about 500 euro worth of easily sold stuff, mostly stuff from that period that was still in box or on card! I'm glad I didn't get rid of the older stuff. Keep me up to date with your progress!

Great video! Awesome idea to work on the "pile of grey" and get stuff done. As I am still very new to this and in under no pressure at all to finish anything (even though my pile of grey is already quite big) I have no need to hammer my backlog. But still very interesting to see how it goes for you! Looking forward to the next update.

This is amazing. I work in software so I love the idea of using points.
I have been thinking a lot about how to manage my backlog and have come to nearly the same system. I hope to make loads of progress this year. I might start a blog too for accountability
Edit: I don't know if I would call a fine cast model a gift might be more of a punishment 🤣

Well, you will definitely have a blog subscriber in me if you do set one up! I love seeing other people's takes on this concept.
