Life needs more chorfs. As much as I love the forgeworld chorfs like the fire glaives, theres a special perfection to the toothy big hats. Curly beards forever.

I have been working on an army of the FW sculpts for The Old World, and these classics are inspiringly beautiful! I recently painted Astragoth, but I might have to brave the markets for other oldies.
Also; might I say that struggling and labouring away on a production line for the Chaos Dwarfs is wonderfully in-character for the little buggers? But you can't argue with the results! Superb!

My first army ever. Used to have the Sorcerer on a Lammasu too. That was so awesome! Got zero games with these guys tho as I traded them to some regular chaos dudes at school yard.😂 Wish had these still…

THE COOlest faction ever!!!!!! i love them so much. In 4th Edition Chaos Dwarf sorcerers could use a spell to breathe fire! badass fire breathing dwarfs.

These bring back memories. Chaos Dwarfs were my friends army and my regular opponent against my undead. Death Rocket, Earthshaker cannon, Astrogoth, sneaky gits and of course the bull centaurs. Came across an unpainted astrogoth a few years back(slightly battered) inspired by this to possibly paint him.

I use these guys as the heavy armigers (4/5) in Hero Quest final quest. It took a while to get them at a decent price.

My husband showed me a trick for mold lines(probably everyone else knows this already *g). He bought nail files, the fine ones and i think you can file and polish them down nicely and don t have the possibilitie of hacking into the miniature by accident.

Nice work. Having to do multiple layers of the same colors on the same models is frustrating. With these models being so rare, seems like someone ought to get in to molding or making customs.

I've mentioned this on a few vid''s about eyes. Have a look at your own eyes in the mirror. The thing you should see is the fact that you can't see the whole of the iris. The top and bottom are cut out by your own eye lids. That is why so many people get the thousand yard stare. Their job makes it look like the model has just been startled because the eyelids are wide open. With the eyes you have painted just add some covering above and below the iris and see the differenc.
There's currently multiple lots of Chaos Dwarfs on a local Finnish auction site for dirt cheap, plastic warriors and the rest in good 'ol perfect metal, blunderbusses, rocket launcher, hobgoblins with swords, bows or mounted and sneaky gits. This isn't one of my favourite ranges so I won't go for them, although it would be an opportunity to make money off them, but it's better to let someone else get them for cheap, hopefully someone who is as passionate about this range as I'm for other ranges.

Given the nature of the Chaos Dwarves, I think the god should be renamed to reflect the fact that they are no longer in production. Shopshut seems appropriate.

Dude, if you have a black undercoat but you are still looking for a vibrant finish on a colour put another colour in between. You could use brown or orange, or even pink and paint the red over the top. Simples

Tolkien may not have been using direct allegory, but it seems a bit too "coincidental" that the Dwarven arkenstone aligns with the ark of the covenant and many other attributes of the Dwarves align with Biblical Hebrews. If this connection was extended in any way by someone connected to GW to the Chaos Dwarves, I wonder about the possibility of these being somewhat representative of corrupted high priests, Edomites (like the Herodian dynasty), and their connection to Babylonian occultism. Their beards seem Mesopotamian on these figures and their hats might be something like corrupted high priests of the Sanhedrin (after the Edomite Herodian dynasty put all the true Israelite priests to death in his purge). The dragon of Tolkien seems to be synonymous with the dragon of Daniel/Revelation related to the state power of an empowering government connected to Rome.

What kind of brushes do you use and where do you get them from?!
For my smaller details I use an Army Painter Precise Detail brush and I use a size 000, 00 and 0 generic cheap brushes from my local craft store. They aren’t anything special but they do the trick and I can buy them in bulk as they are cheap ☺️

How many hours did it take you to paint all models ?
I didn’t time it but I did around 2-3 hours a day for 7 days. Was a bit of a slog!
honestly, they never even gave chaos dwarfs a chance to be popular. And then after they dropped chaos dwarfs they decided out of nowhere to make ogre kingdom army? Like.. if they were willing to go out and make a brand new army out of nothing, they should have given chaos dwarfs a chance, 6th edition really could have been their big hit.
Couldn’t agree more! It’s such a shame because I often think of what the Chorfs would have looked like with a refreshed range and some more characters.

Questions. You didn't think a little Nuln Oil on the beard would bring the highlighting together with the rest of the beard? Also, when I am edging weapons I tend to go with a high value undiluted colour rather than a watered down one. So instead of a watered down silver I would have gone for Mithril Silver on the bitey edge of the blade, because you know, really sharp looking is really scary. You think a dull finish is better for metal?
