Levels aren't a thing in the anime. The only people in the anime to talk about Levels till date were literal schoolchildren who trained by playing Pokemon games. That says it all
Doesn't matter. Just look at Pikachu and Snivy battle. A Pikachu that has been through multiple league level battles and even fought freaking legendaries should NOT be having issues with a Snivy that is having its first battle even IF he can't use its electric moves (which shouldn't matter anyway since he is against a grass type lol).
This might sound cruel to some, but Unova Ash totally deserved to lose to this meathead. Keep in mind this is the same Ash who throughout the whole saga; - Constantly got upstaged by his new rival Trip, who was a fresh rookie trainer, - He was unable to fully evolve any of his starters, something literally no one else had a problem doing, - Had to relay on last-minute new moves and evolutions to win almost every gym battle, - He almost had to quit being a trainer outright due to that battle with Bianca's dad (and he wasn't even taking it very seriously since he let Oshawott of all his mons to do it on impulse) - He lost every tournament he entered, - He had to use 6 Pokemon to beat only three in the Roxie gym battle, - And the less I say about how he acted in the Elesa gym battle the better... The Roxie battle in particular felt like foreshadowing of this defeat, and making it seem like Ash didn't learn anything.
Honestly shouldn’t Cameron have been disqualified since he didn’t bring enough Pokémon to an official sanctioned league battle? Is that how it works? Man what could have been but what can you do, am I right?
25:09 that's my favorite part of the original video. Calling the eeveelutions chihuahuas is something I didn't knew I needed to hear but from now on that's what they will be known as. That's what you get for taking half of all those top 10 most popular pokemon ever instead of letting other evolution lines shine you greedy catdogs.
Bro, put on shoes that are 3 sizes too big and you'll be tripping all over youself. Double your size instantly and you would look like a new born giraffe.
I can't fathom what the writers were smoking when creating this battle and the entire Unova seasons as a whole. But even still, Vergil was RIGHT THERE, an eeveelution trainer. Talk about words easiest layup to have has Eevee evolve into Sylveon to help win him the battle against Ash. Not to mention tease Kalos, biggest missed opportunity to wrap up such a garbage season
They JUST did't given ash justice to being a real Pokemon master no legendary catchen in the pokeball bro did't even catched pokemons nice he is the youngest Champion but there is Always someone better than you sometimes
Yeah, there's always someone better, but CAMERON?!?!?! Bianca was ditzy, but at least knew the rules and wasn't a bad battler. Virgil and Team Eevee, we all wanted to see it. Trip, well, Ash did need to defeat the main rival, but he knew how to battle. Stephan was a battler, too. Bring in a new Tobias. But CAMERON?!?!?!
Unova was between Ash was at his PEAK! :D Gen 4, and Gen 6..... Then there is the TRASH IN THE MIDDLE called Gen 5.... If I wanna re-watch the entire anime... God end my pain in gen 5
I think those two are the only league losses that are considered the worst. People seem to accept the other league losses better. Personally I think Ash lost pretty fairly in Unova compared to Kanto.
@@beccacroce7380I personally hate the sinnoh loss far more than the indigo one. The sinnoh loss is basically against the last minute hax kid with no build up whereas the indigo loss while better just makes sense because half of Ash's badges weren't really battle earned and he never bothered to actually tame Charizard back then so it just makes sense.
The junior cup isn’t the league, it’s a small tournament that ash and his friends entered and that Cameron arrived after it concluded wanting to participate in it.
The problem is it’s Unova anime Because Gen5 was reboot for games,so they completely reset Ash and even changed writers,so basically the new one didn’t even watch the old 13 seasons to know what happened before
What even more funny is snivy doesn't even use attract, the move that ash ALWAYS use for it, It like the writers knew that would 100% stop riolu/lucario so they simply just don't have ash using it
I think the only time levels are mentioned in the anime is in the indigo league episode "school of hard knocks" where they mention pidgey learning moves at specific levels and evolving at a certain level.
Those guys trained using "Pokèmon battle simulators" which were literally just the Pokèmon games. I think the point of that episode was that "Levels aren't a thing in the anime" but everyone who watched that episode thought the opposite.
@@WebbedManiacThe point of that episode back then was to show that real life battles play out differently than in games and not to rely on that. Not to disprove levels lol. The reason they never actually utilize levels because it hinders their narrative abilities. Thats it.
this is why I love X and Y the most... because that was the only region where Pokemon looked like a proper anime and Ash a proper protagonist..... even the animation style the music the battles were epic though he lost it was all worth it 😍
I don't say just because battle was better it was considered anime the word anime is much more about lesson and not just battle like one piece or Naruto alola was the region that made Pokemon real anime
The problem with the Unova League was that it was trying to be subversive compared to the past leagues. Cameron is set up to be similar to Barry or even Jackson from the Johto league, where he's a hyperactive character who's stronger than they appear, but will ultimately lose to one of the more important participants like Ash or the Main rival, Virgil (the Eevee guy) is set up to be the Ritchie/Jackson/Tyson of the league, the more mature guy Ash meet right before the league starts who's there to show how much further Ash has to go for the next league and usually loses in the following round to show battling Ash took its toll, and then you have the main-ish rival Trip, who Ash needs to get his heat back against to show how far he's come. But in the Unova league, Trip is eliminated almost immediately, so Ash never even has the chance to face him, the only character Ash battles in the league who was set up as a rival (Stephan) is faced early on so they can't go all out and we don't even learn what half his team even is, and Ash is taken out by the joke character one round before he was taken out in the last league (Ash usually goes one round further in each league) right before he can even face the guy they set up before the league at all. It's there to intentionally zig where the previous leagues zagged to make it less predictable, but it winds up feeling like Ash's character regressed and thus makes the Kalos league feel more like a real follow-up to the well received Sinnoh league.
The reason why those were the Pokemon Ash used was because aside from Pikachu, every one of those Pokemon weren't used in the league yet and the writers wanted EVERY Unova team member to battle at least once, which they accomplished. Still, HOW DID ASH LOSE TO THIS YAHOO?!
@@dawnsbuneary Most of Ash's Unova team members were not fully evolved and poorly trained by the time of the League because a lot of fans and writers wanted to prove that Pokemon don't need to evolve to become strong only for this premise to end up doing more harm than good for Ash. He really needs to have a Samurott, Emboar, Serperior, Scrafty, Gigalith and Seismitoad in terms of his Unova reserves.
The weirdest part of this battle is that Ash made very high IQ plays against Stephan in the previous battle Tho he exhausted up Palpitoad Levanny and Krookodile in that one so they couldn't be used in this one
I wished people who complained about Ash vs. Cameron would talk about Cameron's battles against Marlon and Bianca, where he actually did very well and didn't make any silly choices Basically, Cameron came off as a don't judge a book by its cover type of character, where he's scatterbrained in every other situation, gets times wrong and so on, until it comes to Pokémon battles were he does very well there, only for that to be thrown out the window when it came to his battle against Ash.
I’d use Oshawatt on Hydreigon, but I’d teach it Ice Beam first Tri Attack isn’t a bad choice actually, the damage isn’t the point, he wanted Boldore to get hit by Tri Attack and receive one of 3 status conditions
Real talk for a second, I thought there was a rule in place you couldn't compete with a full team. Meaning, how far up their own ass were the writers' heads for this battle to take place? How many rules were they willing to break just to screw Ash over AGAIN?
Pikachu losing to that newbie Snivy is bad. But this fight is just the hardest thing to watch with how stupid Ash is in it compared to his sinnoh battles and XY battles which both happen right before and right after.
So what's more frustrating? Ash loosing to Richie cause Charizard wouldn't freaking move, or Ash losing to Cameron who mostly improvised every move he made?
Ash lost against Ritchie was his fault just like professor oak told him he didn't prioritised training Charizard fully and paid the prize and that was his first league and losing to Ritchie then seeing Ritchie but still seems ok and hearing is the reason never again cried in any other league after his lose but what excuse Ash losing to Cameron have like it's such an insult bro
Ash losing in Indigo was completely fine though?? He honestly didn't even battle earn half of his badges and didn't even tame his strongest pokemon. I am genuinely shocked that he even made it that far in Kanto tbh. He was basically the Cameron of Kanto lmao.

Loved this comment so much it nearly brought me to tears
Cameron is one of the big reason why people hate these seasons tbh
Elsa gym battle too
Aura Sphere was stronger because Lucario was low health 👍
LOL 😂 Right??? Lucario was at max 999% and that made his aura sphere like 99999 damage pts 😂
Weezy is too damned funny but he ain't wrong lol
yes he is lol

20:23 Funny enough, that's exactly what happened when Ash's Turtwig evolved into Grotle. It was bigger and slower so he felt very unusual
Ive been waiting for this🙏
9:29 Ash did good in Sinnoh where he should have won
He also did great in Kalos and they still screwed him over 😂
@@DarkEclipse23I know why they kept ash losing was to keep him as the protagonist but couldn’t they have tried the secondary protagonist that’s more of a newbie trainer that ash is helping become stronger and he acts like the one to make sure the first alola champion is strong boom they both explore the region and ash can have a companion that he can train with and it can show ash’s growth as a trainer because his team would be a new team from scratch besides pikachu and we can still throw in his dusk lycanroc
This might sound cruel to some, but Unova Ash totally deserved to lose to this meathead. Keep in mind this is the same Ash who throughout the whole saga;
- Constantly got upstaged by his new rival Trip, who was a fresh rookie trainer,
- He was unable to fully evolve any of his starters, something literally no one else had a problem doing,
- Had to relay on last-minute new moves and evolutions to win almost every gym battle,
- He almost had to quit being a trainer outright due to that battle with Bianca's dad (and he wasn't even taking it very seriously since he let Oshawott of all his mons to do it on impulse)
- He lost every tournament he entered,
- He had to use 6 Pokemon to beat only three in the Roxie gym battle,
- And the less I say about how he acted in the Elesa gym battle the better...
They hadn't begun advertising Kalos until the Decalor Islands arc, so it's possible Sylveon still wasn't finished yet.
@@beccacroce7380they probably already had its design down because they would have also had to 3-d model it before the trailers at least
20:50 Counterpoint: Turtwig got nothing but worse after he evolved after he evolved partly due to speed
It was also kind of Ash's fault for not switching his battle style when it evolved.
I think him and Iris are the same age though and they are both champions
Yeah pretty sure both are the same age
Unova was between Ash was at his PEAK! :D Gen 4, and Gen 6..... Then there is the TRASH IN THE MIDDLE called Gen 5.... If I wanna re-watch the entire anime... God end my pain in gen 5
There must be some parts of the Gen 5 anime you enjoy.
Use those to distract you and make the watch easier to endure.
After Unova, Ash goes on a pretty great run.
Those Unova losses probably gave him a motivation boost.
@@beccacroce7380thats pretty much what happened, where ash says "i have to get stronger, much stronger" at the end of BW
Ash's Boldore knows Sandstorm and instead he orders it to dodge Tri Attack...
Funny enough, Ash’s Turtwig struggled a lot when it evolved both times, so Cameron’s Riolu was just built different
Hydreigon go brrrrrrrrr
Definitely One of The Worst League Losses of Ash alongside Indigo😓🤦♂️
I think those two are the only league losses that are considered the worst.
People seem to accept the other league losses better.
Personally I think Ash lost pretty fairly in Unova compared to Kanto.
@@beccacroce7380I personally hate the sinnoh loss far more than the indigo one. The sinnoh loss is basically against the last minute hax kid with no build up whereas the indigo loss while better just makes sense because half of Ash's badges weren't really battle earned and he never bothered to actually tame Charizard back then so it just makes sense.
@@sammydray5919 Yeah. Speaking of which, at least Cameron had *some* build-up. Even if said build-up showed us how sloppy he was.
@@beccacroce7380 Cameron was just Kanto Ash. We just hate him more because he was on the opposite side 👀
Calling the BW anime old was such an immediate gut punch
And by extension XY's introduction.
The junior cup isn’t the league, it’s a small tournament that ash and his friends entered and that Cameron arrived after it concluded wanting to participate in it.
The problem is it’s Unova anime
Because Gen5 was reboot for games,so they completely reset Ash and even changed writers,so basically the new one didn’t even watch the old 13 seasons to know what happened before
What even more funny is snivy doesn't even use attract, the move that ash ALWAYS use for it, It like the writers knew that would 100% stop riolu/lucario so they simply just don't have ash using it
I think the only time levels are mentioned in the anime is in the indigo league episode "school of hard knocks" where they mention pidgey learning moves at specific levels and evolving at a certain level.
To make up for his lack of 6th Pokémon lucario had a second set of moves being soft-boiled, wish, refresh and aqua ring
6:41 Dragon rush Patterrz: "Hey that's a solid one. We like that." Weezy: "Now Dragon rush is just an irresponsible move."
Electro ball is cool and all but forgetting volt tackle for it was a galactic level fumble

You know Ash best team of 6 for Unova was Krookodile, Leavanny, Boldore, Palpatoad, Pignite and Pikachu
Boldore sucks
Would it be animal abuse to throw out a pokemon you know can't beat your opponent so you can heal your other pokemon?
Honestly pokemon battles in general would be considered animal abuse
watching unova ash makes you forget he beat the entire battle frontier even some legendarys and more gym battles than anything
Ash losing to gym leaders isn't new though. How many has he had to fight twice since he lost to them the first time?
Out of the 52 badges he won, he had to rematch for 12 of them. Honestly, not as many as i thought.@@beccacroce7380
Lucario.
@beccacroce7380 STILL! Lucario took like, FIFTEEN attacks, and DIDN'T FAINT! I know Steel types are bulky, but how?!
@@dawnsbuneary Most of Ash's Unova team members were not fully evolved and poorly trained by the time of the League because a lot of fans and writers wanted to prove that Pokemon don't need to evolve to become strong only for this premise to end up doing more harm than good for Ash. He really needs to have a Samurott, Emboar, Serperior, Scrafty, Gigalith and Seismitoad in terms of his Unova reserves.
when ur talking about evolving mid battle i think of ash's turtwig to grotle
Weazy vid let’s go!!!

The weirdest part of this battle is that Ash made very high IQ plays against Stephan in the previous battle
Tho he exhausted up Palpitoad Levanny and Krookodile in that one so they couldn't be used in this one
I wished people who complained about Ash vs. Cameron would talk about Cameron's battles against Marlon and Bianca, where he actually did very well and didn't make any silly choices
Basically, Cameron came off as a don't judge a book by its cover type of character, where he's scatterbrained in every other situation, gets times wrong and so on, until it comes to Pokémon battles were he does very well there, only for that to be thrown out the window when it came to his battle against Ash.
I’d use Oshawatt on Hydreigon, but I’d teach it Ice Beam first
Tri Attack isn’t a bad choice actually, the damage isn’t the point, he wanted Boldore to get hit by Tri Attack and receive one of 3 status conditions

Cameron mentioned but at what cost….😭😭😭
React to the Dragonite with/ 10 moves that cooked Ash Ketchum
In my opinion the second worst of the league losses, beaten out only by Ash vs Ritchie.
This is why zactoshi hates shitfesant
11:54 That's brain damage and you should be isolated for that.
So what's more frustrating? Ash loosing to Richie cause Charizard wouldn't freaking move,
or Ash losing to Cameron who mostly improvised every move he made?
You should react to titanxowl too, he makes similar content
I wish ash wouldve just evolved his MONS
20:26 thats such a great logic.. never heard anybody else say that!!😂😂
You should react to jaden animations i played Pokémon with 50 types
When ash left the anime
Everyone:no come back ash nooo bring back ash
When ash was the protagonist of the anime
Everyone:what a loser
