Never had a full dyno session with it but from 1/8 times it’s around 1800hp as it sets on the street now my fast n/t car I had that motor built and knock on wood haven’t had a problem yet with it in 2 seasons and I have it refreshed after each season and everything has always been great.
Screw the haters we knew it wasn’t Jackie’s burnouts,Jerald is wealth of knowledge sure hope some young guys are working for him to learn😊 Great video love y’all
Just a note. We have built many Chevy engines for circle track. That oiling problem you had is one that we fixed by drilling a hole with a #10 or #12 fitting in the front where an original small blocked off or possibly just a flat spot is there. This feeds the main oil gallery for the mains FROM THE FRONT. We blocked off the passage from the filter housing area that feeds the rear of the motor first. Then put a filter adapter plate with a#10 or #12 fitting out to a remote filter with an in/out to the new fitting in the front of the motor. This feeds all the mains evenly. We also put in .060 restrictors from the mains feeding the cam bearings. This keeps more oil to the mains feeding the rods because the cam bearings don't need that much oil. Hope this helps you out....
Gosh dang I’m loving this whole in depth process of problem solving you’re going through. Obviously ya don’t wanna see these things happen but because it had this helps me learn what to look for also. Appreciate it all.

Hello Justin and Jackie. I know that Justin's knowledge is very great. He said that this problem has happened before so I think the problem is maybe with the block or the crank shaft that the return oil channels restrict the oil flow back to those journals.

I'd like to see those nicks in the cylinder he said the rings would just slide right over. This is no joke! It will become harder and harder to get a good, local small machine shop engine as the years go by. There will always be good stuff from the big operations out there but the 1-5 man shops will be drying up in no time if the younger generation doesn’t get involved.
Yea I agree within the next 10 years you'll have to go to either commercial sized shops with 15-20 or more people always working or you'll have to go to big named shops and you'll never get the one on one personal experience and you'll have to adopt out a kid or pimp out your wife in order to afford just the machine work on your engine and I don't know if it's by choice or what but Bill and Billy from SRC and Old Man's Garage go to a machine shop that is out in the country where nobody else is around him but he has a small shop and only has a few employees and they get the personal one on one experience but that's not saying much considering it looks like they live out in the country themselves except for when they go somewhere then it looks like their not too far away from the city and it doesn't look like they are too far away from downtown Cincinnati and they have been using the same machine shop for as long as I can remember so I think it's by choice
We messed with small blocks and tried to make them fast we switched over to the 454 big M block and haven't had issues you can make a big block run the numbers just on the motor only... just saying to save money and time in the long run. Haven't really gotten into the computer staying old-school is cool. I watch all your videos they are great.
Thank you both for sharing all of the information that have most people would not tell us anything. Funny how we are supposedly in the industrial ago and we are gonna reach singularly within 10 years yet we don't even have enough people or machines making automotive parts or chip boards for electronics !
12 weeks on my offset grind crank ... we may be late for season start. Pistons need to be order after we get crank, That many people racing now I need to open a machine shop.
At least the engine can be repaired. You could really see the relief on chiefs face. He trust everything that guy said to him. Nice guy to know. Good luck ..God bless you two.

Hook them up as in still paying for his work and service yes of course lol but even Cleetus pays for his engines from Steve Morris and he's got 6-7 million followers on his social medias.. chief likes doing more with less anyway .. look what he was racing with the crow.. from promods to ldr cars and NPK cars with drivelines that cost more than the crow lol he's been hurting feelings for 10 years on TV now and TH-cam
I used to think that I knew something about a small block back in the early 70s. Now? It just gives me a headache thinking about it??? I Just LOVE you guys even at this age in my life while having to use a scooter to get around... LOL...
Sucks to be back to waiting for parts, but this seems pretty positive compared to what the outcome could have been. Looks like we’ll see Caddy Jack making race car sounds again soon!
Once again I don't really know what you're saying(I know the parts of the engine) but I still love y'all talking about this stuff. The older guy teaching the younger guy....
I've had a similar issue before. We eventually found out we had a crack in a internal oil passageway. It would have great oil pressure . After the engine would warm up then we would have the issue.
You can drill and brass pin the main caps and the main bearings where you cannot spin them. Done many on the sbc as well as pin the rod bearings and drill the 289 ford style oil hole in the rod to spray the bottom of the cylinders.

I’m sorry that happened to you all. I’m sure Caddy Jack will come back stronger and faster than it was. Man I saw that sexy Vette in the background, can’t wait to see it making hits to. Keep up the good work.✌️😎👍
That was a joy to listen to the back and forth, brings back lots of memories of breaking down certain issues. Looks like you got one of those “only got a couple passes” “ran great” thrown together grenade engines. I’m glad to hear you or your builder wasn’t responsible. Looks to be just very poorly/hastily assembled.
New to your channel so looking forward to seeing how it all worked out.
Once that guy gets his hands on it all is going to be awesome. SBC still a pretty good bullet imo
I'M SO PROUD OF YOU BIG CHIEF, YOU HUMBLED YOURSELF AND REACHED OUT FOR ASSISTANCE, WAY TO GO BIG CHIEF. I'M SO PROUD 🥲 TAKE CARE BIG CHIEF AND JACKIE, YOU TWO ROCK!!!
Jackie with the quick kill saved that deal quite a bit
Love how you guys try to figure out what happened and show everything! Very informative! Thanks!
It's a shame there's not many young people stepping up to fill the shoes of people like Gerald, that knowledge is irreplaceable
This is no joke! It will become harder and harder to get a good, local small machine shop engine as the years go by. There will always be good stuff from the big operations out there but the 1-5 man shops will be drying up in no time if the younger generation doesn’t get involved.
Ya, it’s a shame. Seems like machine shops are dieing out
Yea I agree within the next 10 years you'll have to go to either commercial sized shops with 15-20 or more people always working or you'll have to go to big named shops and you'll never get the one on one personal experience and you'll have to adopt out a kid or pimp out your wife in order to afford just the machine work on your engine and I don't know if it's by choice or what but Bill and Billy from SRC and Old Man's Garage go to a machine shop that is out in the country where nobody else is around him but he has a small shop and only has a few employees and they get the personal one on one experience but that's not saying much considering it looks like they live out in the country themselves except for when they go somewhere then it looks like their not too far away from the city and it doesn't look like they are too far away from downtown Cincinnati and they have been using the same machine shop for as long as I can remember so I think it's by choice
Most of them have an Oculus on there face!
This. The man called the stroke of a main crank just by looking at it.
We messed with small blocks and tried to make them fast we switched over to the 454 big M block and haven't had issues you can make a big block run the numbers just on the motor only... just saying to save money and time in the long run. Haven't really gotten into the computer staying old-school is cool. I watch all your videos they are great.
Ty for the video Ms Jackie and professor chief full sending never lifting 😏 🤙 mobbin deep 🙌 love the vibes
Wow, I learned alot through this diagnosis...thanks for taking the time to make this video !...
Another awesome video from Big Chief and Jacky
Thank you both for sharing all of the information that have most people would not tell us anything. I know that you Chief and your engine builder will work it out and Caddy Jackie will be back out there doing burnouts again. And Jackie just so you know I never thought that you were to blame for any of it lol much Love and support from Brisbane Australia.
Always the best updates and content in the business !!!!
And yet another GREAT !!! video from Jackie and Chief. Keep'm coming!!!!
Thank you for the great content. I hope to see you guys back running before too long.
Chief,I really enjoy the content. Discussions about timing, weather, etc is much needed. Keep up the great work.
Funny how we are supposedly in the industrial ago and we are gonna reach singularly within 10 years yet we don't even have enough people or machines making automotive parts or chip boards for electronics !
yea boss....the world is a scary place when sbc parts arent in stock...like wtf has happened
12 weeks on my offset grind crank ... we may be late for season start. Pistons need to be order after we get crank, That many people racing now I need to open a machine shop.
Gerald is good shit. Find more reasons (less expensive reasons, lol) to have him on the channel
jackie got him talked into starting his own channel, look for more gerald soon! lol
At least the engine can be repaired. You could really see the relief on chiefs face. He trust everything that guy said to him. Nice guy to know. Good luck ..God bless you two.
gerald has never steered us wrong, we have all the faith in the world in him
"It didn't run long"
Shout out to Jackie for shutting it down.
Well I was kinda right about the bearing sping but I didn't know the way the oil flows on that I thought it was from the rear definitely makes since why it did now I love this stuff and awesome you got the answer time to rebuild hopefully parts are available love you guys so awesome watching and leaning new stuff
Awesome video yet again, Chief and Jackie. Best team at midweststreetcars. You guys are always #thebestinthegame. Can't wait to see CaddyJack making licks again.
thanks dg! we are getting this deal fixed up and ready to get back on the limiter
@Midwest Street Cars you're welcome, Chief and Jackie.
This is so neat watching someone with his experience and expertise in his craft.
Damn, that cat is working that night shift hard. But it looks like the money is good. You go girl!!!
Very cool big Cheif. Love that video to. I'm really getting back into watching now. I've been watching u since pinks.
The show just isn't the same with out u. I hope ur planning on coming back or something bro??? Miss ya man! U and Jackie are making good vids. Thanks.
Yup, They gonna B Fast 😎👍
I definitely wasn’t expecting this video today but sure am glad we got it
Gerald loves the 17,000 rpm burn outs also! Hell yea!! 😂
he's got no problem with them lol
I called the number 4 main spun in your last video and I'm sure number 6 is beat up too. If your running motor cold it may need a little more bearing clearance.
Been waiting on this one. That man has knowledge coming out of his ears. I bet Steve Morris would be down to hook you guys up. Just an expensive thought. Lol keep up the great content guys. You know we love you.
thank you!
Great video.very informative. Love Juno chilling. I laugh at her in the background when she’s playing. Then I back up and watch again
"Are you a gambling man?" is the absolute LAST thing you wanna hear from your engine builder 😂😂
Once again I don't really know what you're saying(I know the parts of the engine) but I still love y'all talking about this stuff. The older guy teaching the younger guy....
Definitely take advice from this dirt track guy he makes them run some laps at 9500rpms consistently!!!
I've had a similar issue before. We eventually found out we had a crack in a internal oil passageway. It would have great oil pressure . After the engine would warm up then we would have the issue.
"Was this deal fresh when you bought it?" That was fuckin priceless lol
Great video you two can't wait to see how you come back after that mess.
lolol his sarcasm is sharp
@@justinshearer3016 the look on your face when he asked that.....well...
He knew damn well it wasn’t lmfao
I believe that’s what you call a rhetorical question 😏
“are you a gambling man?”🤣🤣🤣 That’s never good to hear from your engine guy!🤣🤣🤣
Sherlock Chief and Machinist Moriarty are investigative machines man 👍🏻. Hope you guys can get it back up soon.
Hell yeah I'm loving all the videos. Much love and respect ✌🏻
we are glad you love em!
@@MidwestStreetCarsAuto 👍🏻👍🏻
You can drill and brass pin the main caps and the main bearings where you cannot spin them. Done many on the sbc as well as pin the rod bearings and drill the 289 ford style oil hole in the rod to spray the bottom of the cylinders.
I'm glad y'all are building your own Engine, buying Engine's from others hasn't worked out so well.
literally lol we will rebuild this puppy and fingers crossed it'll be better than ever
👍 from Buford, Georgia....thank you far sharing lessons learn. I received my 540 BBC power adder long block last week after paying for in full last February. Delays are crazy long....
Hit that, like 👍 guys, keep up the videos, jackie and you to cheif 🤣🤣 loving the 2 videos a week
thanks Justin! we are glad you like them!
Did you notice what I did up there 😅 hope you guys got a laugh. Sorry chief 🤣🤣
@@justinlevensailor9677 always lolol
thank yoU!
Gerald is a wealth of knowledge. This is a great video
Loving the educational content lately! BTW when can we go bird watching chief? Ill bring the binoculars
dont temp me lol.....
Hey Chief. Huge fan of yours. When I grew up my brother had a 68 GTO which was a LeMans upgrade. He was a gear head/street racer and 10yrs older than me. Unfortunately he passed away almost 20yrs ago from a drunk driver. I'd love to come meet you at an event and take a picture of Mr Crow. You remind of my brother. I live near Denver but I'll travel. Will there be a schedule or update where you may be? I'd be willing to meet you in OKC too. Thank you for the content you and Jackie have been putting out and I can't get enough!!!! 🤘🤘
Chief’s knowledge is impressive, but Gerald is on another level.
Sorry for the bad luck guys... Hope yall get it line out man! Good luck, glad to still be gettin content from you guys..
He seems like a damn good dude
After watching the last couple videos looks like some Louisiana built engines and head work for sure. Don’t know the whole story but enjoy the content.
killer content... build it up stronger and let it rip.
Warren Jackie burnouts! 😆 that is good stuff!
Those cats 🐈 haha they def run the roost around there …
