In this video I am going to finish the process of building a slip joint shadow trapper, a folding pocket knife commonly reffered to as a "sodbuster." This is the seventh in the series and we will finish the knife assembly and cleanup, as well as build a pocket / belt sheath for it. We will also explore not only the mechanics of building the knife and sheath but also the knife shop, tools techniques and some safety concerns. I am relatively new to the art of folding knives. I have made a couple in the past with varying degrees of success. I am now in a learning phase and taking you along for the ride. When this knife and series is complete I will be GIVING IT AWAY to ONE OF YOU and then we can start the next build. I hope you follow along and enjoy the build, I hope you learn with and have fun being a part of the experience. After all this is supposed to be fun. Hit the subscribe and notifications icon and come back every Sunday for the 1830 PST live feed. I might just be giving away something else cool and you have to be there to win it. By all means support this channel by sharing the hell out of it, and checking out the links that I put down below. --Norseman

I love the red with that color leather. Fun to see Angel doing her art too. I truly hope whoever wins this realizes what a piece of art this is, and respect all the time it took. This has been a really fascinating series!
I’m a little late to your video series, but I appreciate the detail you went into. Been making fix blades for about five years and I’m ready to jump into the slip joint world. Thanks a lot.

Brother I hope you see this comment! First let me say I enjoyed each video and the amount of time and effort goes in to this. I hope to be fortunate enough to attempt this and eventually get good at this in the years to come. It’s an art that is going away year by year. Thanks for the series of videos!

@@VerminHuntersTV no sweat, I will do it again. I plan to do another giveaway knife build at 10,000 subscribers. It might be a year or might be a couple months. It is a mystery to me.
Definitely a talented couple. Nice work kids. Sorry I missed the drawing. (A year too late). I’ll watch for the next one!
Next one is coming up soon. When we hit 10k gonna build and give away a custom HOG 4.5, with handmade leather sheath. This is gonna be a big one. Hope you get in on it. Details will follow.
Good luck to all that entered the giveaway! Someone out there will receive a one of a kind Awesome knife.

Oh and TICKET!
👏👏👏
Chic... parabéns.
Whoever ends up with this knife will be very pleased. Ticket please and thank you.
I hope so.
The knife turned out perfectly. Thanks for filming the sheath making part too. That is super cool to watch. What is the base she uses for punching the stitching holes? Seems to work a lot nicer than the old butcher block I am using. Also I wanna make sure, I should have all possible entries in for this drawing? I’d love to win that thing. I’ll be tuning in Sunday. Thanks for sharing this whole process with us, it’s badass.
You have all possible entries. That's 14 tickets.. awesome.
Sweet! Thanks man.

Congratulations very dedicated. What kind of leather did you use.
VAD SMART DU ÄR
Tack!
What is the material on that black base used with the stitching chisels? I like how Angel punches all the way through. I've punched with a chisel on a harder surface to mark holes then gone to the drill press.
it is a rubber mat from Tandy Leather, after a while the get really deformed but they hold for a couple years depending on how much you use them.
excellent video how long have you been making knives? ticket
Over ten years. Haha a little late on the" ticket. "
@@MakersMovementDIY lol worth a try lol cool nice knife
@@joeasher3290 No doubt worth a try but that is done and gone, however we are on the edge of 10k subs and I will be doing it again with a custom HOG 4.5 knife. Stick around for.a shot at it.
hej. hur kan jag köpa en knivsata för att bygga min egen kniv . var och hur
I dont know of any knife kits, at least not any that would be of any true value. Learning how to make knives is a long process that is heavy on science (metalurgy) and art (asteroids and function). Only way to get there is to start. Good luck.
December 8th……What year?
TICKET.
IM ELK HUNTING ON THE 8th. S#:/!!!
If you pick me give it to DezDog i hear his name a bunch and he is a veteran. Navy but a veteran.
You dont have to be present to win. I can wait till you get back if you want but I would also be happy to send it to dezdog. No sweat your call, but you have to win first. Hahahha.
Yeah, tell him Merry Christmas from a stranger. Good luck Dezdog!
