I've put probably 10k rounds thru my gen 3 glock 34. Still on original spring and plastic plunger. She's no spring chicken but she will always be beautiful in my eye. My first pistol.
A couple glaring errors in this video. #1. The Glock 34 doesn’t have the regular Glock trigger. It had the “minus” connector which gives it a 1 lb lighter trigger pull and a different feel. The standard Glock trigger hits a wall then releases the sear. The G34 trigger doesn’t really hit a wall but smoothly pulls all the way through and releases the sear at the end of the pull. It feels more like a light DA pull. #2. The purpose of the improved Gen4 trigger spring isn’t for longevity of the spring itself but to actually decrease felt recoil while also reducing wear on the locking block and frame. Nobody would really care about improving the life of a cheap $7 recoil spring.
I shoot a gen 3 #34, on a regular basis. I've had it over 20 years. As much as I love it the trigger is garbage. It absolutely hits a wall. It's like backing ur truck into a wall.
Good video I would just like to add that the trigger pull is lighter on a 34 over a 17,19,and 26. It comes from the factory with the minus connector which is 4.5lb where as the others come with the 5.5lb standard connector. If you were to feel the trigger pulls of the 17 vs the 34 you would notice the difference at the wall
The Gen 3 comes with a minus connector, different from every other Gen 3 Glock. Stock Glock triggers are 7#. Vickers parts aren't IDPA/USPSA legal. Stippling isn't SSP legal; just use stick on grips. I replaced the extended controls on my Gen 3 34 with standard controls, WOTG sights, 13 lb recoil spring, and grip plug.
So if you were to put a Gen 3 Recoil Spring and slide on the Gen 4 frame it would work correct? In my head that should be all you have to change to make the Gen 3 slide work on the Gen 4 frame. Likewise unless I'm wrong, I could take an aftermarket Gen 4 Glock 17 slide, barrel and recoil spring and throw that on my Gen 4 Glock 34 frame. Am I right with this train of thought??
Love me Gen 4 G34 but prefer the Gen 3 finish. Also wish I would've waited for the MOS model. I upgraded my sights to Vickers Elite Battle sights with blacked out rear and green FO front.
+Trop Gun You dont recommend a trigger undercut? ..it should be on every Glock, almost everyone gets a Glock Nuckle its way more comfortable when you can hold the gun a bit higher
Great point! I do in fact like an undercut right where the trigger guard meets the grip. I failed to mention that. Gives a much higher purchase on the gun.
the extended features make everything eazy beezy, if they're interfering for some of you, you need to put your hotdog fingers on a diet! Oh by the way... Glock 17L FTW!
I'm 6'6 about 300 lbs my conceal carry is a Springfield xds 4.0 45acp I love it but I wanted a 1911 so bad it actually fits my hand and I love the weight.....my buddy is a glock guy he keeps trying to get me to buy a 19 but I don't like the feeling of it.......these ones I could get behind tho I'm gonna buy the 34 as soon as I find one
+Glock1130 You are correct. The earlier production 34s came with the 3.5lb trigger from the factory. However, all the recent models come with a 4.5lb trigger.
Who ever adjusts rear sights??! whats the point? I never understood that one. I need to shoot 100 yards, how am I going to know where to adjust it too!??!? I would rather just learn the adjustment with the sight in its standard position.

He who holds the GLOCK 34 makes the rules!

Love the Proctor sights.
Thanks for the informative comments, BMAH!
Would you recommend this as a first handgun?
Yes,
I'm going gen 3.

34 has a 4.5lb trigger....I would know I own 2
I have a Glock 36 Gen 4 for home defense and IDPA matches, I actually carry it when I go to range. Really don't have any complaints about it.
I reallly like the gen 3 magazine release and the slide stop. I don't have an issue with them.
Great Video but tell me is there less recoil in the Generation 4 dual recoil spring please

Gen #1 is better than no Gen Glock! ❤
the extended features make everything eazy beezy, if they're interfering for some of you, you need to put your hotdog fingers on a diet! Oh by the way... Glock 17L FTW!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 yeah..... Do you really need all that extra barrel. Glock 34 is more popular for competition shooting.
Trigger is lighter than stock glock triggers on other models.
If you can carry a 1911 you can carry this.

Yup. They made this Glock to fit the box with 1911's. For competition shooting
34,3 got me hooked on long slide Glocks. But my 24 and 35 are beast's
Nice video, I went with the Gen 3
$600 gun and the upgrade you stated by Rob Wheaton cost $1,200.
christ! why doesn't Glock just release more 17L's???????????
1500 yards! Wow! (2:02) "I was able to make hits at 1500."
Lol.... yeah right!
Some people just can't shoot lol. A Glock is able to hit at 2000. Look up the record. This thing is built for accurate competition shooting.
It's a fuckin 9mm with a 5 inch barrel 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Not entirely true regarding trigger - you get the minus connector with the G34
Always a bit odd when i see people shoot handguns, especially glocks 50-100 yrds. These guns are designed for 5- 25yrds.
Thank you for the video. You answered a lot of questions
Can the barrels swap out?
Gen3 for me 💪
Why in the hell would you buy a gun that is over priced then you have to spend even more to make it usable??? Buy a Walther Q5....its is PERFECT!
No such thing, but great attempt at being an elitist douche.
The original models were called Practical-Tactical models and had "minus" connectors. Don't these have them?
Not that I'm aware of and if they did have them it didn't make any difference. These triggers weighed in just under 6lbs.
4.5 not 5.5
Can you put the Gen 3 G34 slide on the Gen 4 G34 frame? Thanks.
Any answer?
I thought the 34 would've had the3.5 trigger like the 17L Does it say 5. 5 on the box?
+Glock1130 You are correct. The earlier production 34s came with the 3.5lb trigger from the factory. However, all the recent models come with a 4.5lb trigger.
The grip on a Gen 3 is larger than a Gen 4 ..Also the box on my Gen 3 says 4.5 pound trigger
The sights are fine.
Never had an issue
Are you gonna have a video on Gen5 34?
My 35 gen4 shoots like a 9mm. Great guns for the price.
the Glock 34 was special design for John wick
Also
Cops use them
And bad guys too
Not just you I had to shave down my
Mag release because it was digging into my palm
Nice video
glock 34 comes with 4.5 lb trigger.
Does G34!recoil less than G17 and G19?
Feels the same IMO.
Same here.
Who ever adjusts rear sights??! whats the point? I never understood that one. I need to shoot 100 yards, how am I going to know where to adjust it too!??!? I would rather just learn the adjustment with the sight in its standard position.
I ccw that
1stcomment
and like
you sound like nutnfancy
1500 yards? OMG
Stopped watching once you said it's a stock Glock trigger. Obviously I know more than you
Can you put the Gen 3 G34 slide on the Gen 4 G34 frame? Thanks.
Yes.
No
If you use the gen 3 guide rod and barrel the gen 3 will fit tthe gen 4 you will have a gap on the dust cover though.
