      Highly knowledgeable man. Definitely helped fuel my passion for Glock and Beretta at an early age. He doesn't do much with the latter but kinda cause of him I got it in me to 100% disassemble and reassemble them and learn to do it right.

    the ejector is in the same spot in relation to barrel centerline on the 9 or 40 cal.
    the 9 and 40 both use small pistol primers, so if the ejector could hit the primer on the 40 it could also hit on the 9.

    Only time you would have a live round cycling backwards towards the ejector is if you unload the gun manually which would not render enough momentum to ignite a primer, i don't see any way a live 40.sw round could be set of out of battery by a 17 frame. However it might case some ejection issues, i can't comment on that, but it will not fire out of battery. Just a comment on the info given at 9:45.

    Lenny, if you haven't already, you should film some safety videos to be used in classes. You have the perfect voice for it and you explain everything you're doing so well. As someone who will potentially be teaching classes for law enforcement next year (if everything goes according to plan), I would put more trust in you covering everything important than I would in myself.

    • @C-M-E
      @C-M-E 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      One of the best instructors I've learned information from said a very beneficial statement at the beginning of his first class (a state-certified PPO program if it matters): No one person knows absolutely everything we're about to talk about; I can learn something from everyone in the room and vice versa.
      That said, when I go to an instructor for certification, the last thing I want to hear is the instructor having doubts about his abilities. I say this to you with respect mind you, but knowledge is an accumulation of time and effort. In your case, a LEO can and probably will reference your class when he/she has to testify about their actions at some point, and that has some potentially severe repercussions for all involved. If you're having doubts when teaching others how and what to do-especially in a legally binding manner-perhaps a moment of reflection is in order.

    • @000Bob000jones000
      @000Bob000jones000 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      When it comes to legality, I have no doubts. My doubts are more about how to defend oneself when legally able to and a comprehensive safety talk. I've taken a few defensive/combative handgun courses and there always seems to be some disagreement between instructors, although that is bound to happen and isn't something that can really be helped. What I think Lenny would be perfect for is a firearms safety course for rookie LEOs who have little firearms experience. That being said, honestly anyone who sees this and can come up with a list of everything that would need to be discussed could help. (Also, I just really like Lenny's voice and would like to have his expertise to back me up in any class I teach)

    • @C-M-E
      @C-M-E 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      000Bob000jones000 I can't argue with a Lenny-based video program. Beyond the logistics of that and before I get to my recommendations, what state and capacity are you teaching these perspective courses? (Academy or other?) In Texas, beyond the base academy if you are hired by an agency, there are TCLEOSE-certified institutions that one can attend similar to EMT certifications where they teach the gamut from all the bookwork to range time; essentially everything to be an LEO with certificate.

    • @000Bob000jones000
      @000Bob000jones000 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd be teaching in Illinois, post-academy (probably immediately post-academy). I'm currently working on USAS and NRA certifications and plan to be teaching courses for LEOs who want to better their shooting abilities.

    I have a trigger kit for .357sig on my G26 installed, which includes .357sig (or .40S&W) ejector, of course...
    So far, I think it can affect on angle at which spent case will be ejected from the pistol, that's all it may affect. I don't think it can engage a primer in any way, it is just physically impossible...

    Primer is located in the exact same position on a 40 as it is a 9mm both use small pistol located in the center on the round. If you're worried about the ejector hitting the primer on a 40....you should worry about it hitting the primer on a 9mm to.

    I´m from Austria and here the lower is just a part and you can buy it without register. Only pressurized parts need to be registered. So if you use a match barrel, you register it as accessory. And you can register two accessories for each gun. A complete upper is also considered one accessory.

    Lenny, we've been watching you for a long time, now. We love your store(s) and all its offerings. And the info and experience you have to share and your enthusiasm in doing so. We see your passion for the sport as genuine and that you're not just "out for a buck." I'm sure that's been the driving force behind your success.
    I've found this presentation about frames and their relationship to/with each other to be very helpful and, especially so to those who might not be at the same level as some others in the Glock "world." Glock doesn't exactly make it easy, with all of the various model numbers and how they interchange. This simplifies things, a lot.
    But... In the same respect for those people just figuring it all out, there's something I think needs calling out.
    To say the "preferred method" (indicating there may be other differences involved) of converting the 17 to a 22 is to replace the *entire* trigger housing just to facilitate exchanging the shell ejector, makes no sense. Just dollars, for whomever sells the housing. Dollars which don't *need* to be spent and especially in the face of the cost of a new slide and barrel, plus "X" no. of magazines. Every dollar counts for a lot of people in light of this "fiscal fiasco" we're all being forced to navigate right now. 😀
    If there's some valid reason, some other difference between the housing assys of which I'm not aware then, please... Someone let me know and I'll graciously acquiesce. 😀
    To the best of my knowledge the only difference *is* the ejector, itself.
    Also, you should do the subject justice by giving all of the info since you're currently in the middle of disseminating information about just that...
    If the housing is in the frame, yes. A short, needle nose plier works fine. Securely grasp/support the frame and pull firmly. The other, "preferred method," should the housing already be out of the frame, is to use a small punch and simply push the ejector out from the rear and install the desired ejector. Either way, it's only a 30 sec. swap and there's no need to pay for a whole new housing. 😉
    If it seems like I'm "over reacting," apologies. I'm just trying to give you credit when due (which is 98.5% of the time) and call BS when necessary.
    We still love ya in this house, Buddy.

      Sir...
      I'm afraid that ou're the winner of today's "This is unbelievable, I can't take it anymore" response to these types of response... Which has been building for a while.
      May I direct you to an English 101 primer and Websters "New world dictionary, unabridged?? My comment was articulate, well punctuated and of proper structure and grammar. I know that's somewhat confusing to a lot of today's highschool (and college) "graduates." Mind you, that's not a personal attack, by any means, I don't know your personal scholastic background but, "what?" as a response to a viable and comprehensible comment *does* tend to raise an eyebrow.
      I admit, the ability to and act of being thorough in my speech and communication does frequently get me labeled as [a] "racist" (though that's not the correct usage of the word, "bigot" would be much more appropriate), however one has anything to do with the other, I've no idea or that I'm trying to somehow "belittle" people, simply by speaking or writing correctly and comprehensively but, I'm just using the vocabulary and communication skills I was tought in grade/high school (which I actually attended, what was I thinking...) and it's application thereof to convey my thoughts, opinions and questions in an understandable presentation. Seems that's a waste of time these days, a lone voice on a deserted island in a vast ocean.
      Now then... Am I being sarcastic? Of course, obviously so. But, the types of responses I get for actually using more than the apparently acceptable "144 characters" to communicate is astounding... And, a sad commentary on today's outlook on the ability of people to effectively communicate with one another, which is a huge cause in today's societal breakdown.
      If people held a book instead of a phone for the same amount of hours in a day, this world would be a *much* better place.
      But, I digress...
      To answer your very "succinctly put" question, aside from a sincere acknowledgement of the services that Lenny McGill provides to the Glock owners/shooters community, I called out the fact that "there's more than one way to skin a cat..."
      And they're not all the expensive way.
      You don't need to replace the whole trigger housing just to replace the extractor.
      Hope that clarifies things for you.
      (In other words, "ask a silly question, get a silly answer"). 😉

  • @deilliw
    @deilliw 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    In South Africa the barrel is registered as it is the part that can be identified via ballistics testing. When replacing a barrel on a hunting rifle a full new license is required. All other parts can be exchanged without permission or paperwork. Would have loved to swap out parts on the G19 but it is near impossible with the differences in regulations.

    How do you do it on a Glock 19 gen5 with ONLY the spring out? I did it on accident(Safely cleaning and looking at the mechanics. The tiny 2 spots to be held down... slide back a tad. Then slide off the front. release buttons(worst thing about Glocks I have). They rest ON THE SPRING. Leaving the chamber stuck and useless lol. No worky on easy mode, tried your stuff I'll try the HARDER one. This could be could though. Have some ones weapon and wanna secure it safe. Slide release. Throw out the spring. Even if a bullet maybe one bullet inaccurate cause you now have a free floating chamber. NVM got it. Set it up fucked up again. Forgot it lol. It requires you to get the barrel out VERY far... There's a baby lock I'm missing. Damn rubrics cube.

In the kit was the Jig and the 5/64th Milling Bit so that the rear rail guides can be put in. The kit didn't have the End Mill bit. There was also no instruction sheet or parts list for the rest of the parts for the lower receiver or what caliber it is. Does the PF 940 on the cover of the box mean that it can be either a 9mm or 40 cal. Jerry Dday

    Is there a smaller narrower frame for the .40cal 23s? I have a smaller hand, and the frame is too wide. Wondering if Glock made narrower frames that'll compensate the .40.

    Quick question. I currently use the .40 to 9mm barrel from your site on my glock 27 with glock 26 mag. But happen to come across a 26 frame. Can I use the glock 27 upper with your .40 to 9mm barrel on a glock 26 frame.

    We need a video specifically on building a g26 p80. The g26 is extremely difficult to get to work reliably.
    16 lb spring and the slide won't go all the way back. 14 lb spring and the slide won't go all the way forward.

    Do you have to change the ejector and extractor if you change to a conversion barrel like glock 22 to 9mm conversion barrel can I keep it the same except for magazine? I tried it fired great even with the 40 magazine which I will change to a 9mm magazine.
