I’m really shocked at how much this game improved on from the first game. Everything from the production value, the voice acting, the gameplay, and the horror is just miles better than the first game. Genuinely wasn’t expecting this considering how much of a rocky few years the company behind it has gone through.

The "he died there" coordinates lead to a mountain range in the middle of Kyrgyzstan. I have no idea what that means for the lore but I'm sure Matpat will figure it out. Also this game gives me very heavy Bioshock vibes. The first game didn't give me that at all but this one keeps making me think of Bioshock because of it's loot system, combat system (especially with the powers), the upgrading your weapons, and the dystopian environment. Even the mechanic that lets you upgrade parts of yourself like your health reminds me of Bioshock Infinite. It may just be me but I feel like for this one they had a lot of inspiration from Bioshock.
Fans been comparing it to Bioshock since the first game. The devs have openly stated that it was indeed a great inspiration and the sequel is no exeption. The devs are huge fans of Bioshock, specially The Meatly.
To my knowledge, Joey created the ink machine to torment his version of Henry to blow off steam. Here, an endless cycle would make this Henry go gradually insane, all taking place within the old workshop. Later, when Joey died and Arch Gate took over, Wilson secretly stole the machine and discovered the world. In a craze of power, he decided to begin making his own changes, leading to events that would put the cycle resets on pause, thus letting the characters already there to actually develop the world beyond the studio (hence the city, "built on broken dreams", as in it could all be reset in an instant). Wilson's only true obstacle is Bendy, so he devises the plan to replace him with another cartoon protagonist, but requires a soul so that it doesn't get out of control like Bendy. To my knowledge. Probably not exact, there is a chance that Joey could've originally created the machine to make lifelike versions of his characters for a "Bendy Land" theme park, and when that didn't work out, he used the machine for his own purposes.
The way I, understand it, the GENT corporation is basically this evil cult. They're the ones who built the Ink machine. They made the weapons, the gates. In the first game, we learned that Thomas Connor (The voice of Boris the wolf) created the Ink Mancine. Well in THIS GAME, there are multiple notes that basically say that Thomas works for GENT Corp. and he built it and other stuff for Mr. Drew, BUT, if Drew's studio's go Bankrupt, GENT Corp takes their stuff back. They basically used the studio as a place to work/research all kinds of ocult things. There's even a message from William at one point, where it straight up tells you that agents working for the GENT Corp came asking about the Ink machine, soon after Archgate moved everything in. HOWEVER, the lady at the desk didn't know anything about it, so a man named, "Mr. GRAY" walked away angry, but empty handed. I think GRAY was/is to GENT Corp what Drew is to his company and Archie is to Archgate. I believe that the final scene there means that the GENT Corp have stolen back the Ink machine, and in the next game, it'll be Audrey, Allison, Tom, Henry & Bendy, versus the Evil cult/Corp that built the Ink machine and made everything possible.

And to add to that I think that the uni machine is an avatar for “the ink demons” powe anything u draw/write with the ink from the machine will “bring it to life” but at a cost!!! The souls off all who worked on the project, so basically trading your and the workers souls to make amazing animations and writing (the lost souls being previous deals) Also I think in the past it might have been a case were someone made a deal and their soul was just taken but now with the machine producing the ink anyone who uses it / is involved with the end product is trapped in this world It would explain why we see Joey,both Alice’s (both the voice actors), Sammy and both borises having actual names and stuff

Same I saw CJ Dachamp play this years ago and never saw it again. Kinda like how Cyberpunk punk is getting some real recognition now. I mean granted they had to come out with an anime an fix A LOT just to get a comeback but in the words of the cloaker " better late then never "

This game has actually has three endings. The regular ending, one where you don't leave your desk, and one where you end up in a mental asylum, wearing a straight jacket.
I had doubts about this game at the start, for a second I tought they ditched the art style of the first one, but now at the end I fully and completly love this game, what an amazing video.

Not a game I'd ever play if left to my own devices (not really a horror genre fan, spent far too much of my childhood with terror as my primary companion in the real world.). But i'm glad I stumbles upon your playthrough. I really enjoyed the story elements and the redemptive arc. And if I can be brutally honest your reactions are hysterically funny. So thank you.
I have to be honest, this game reminds me VERY MUCH of Bioshock! It's got that style in every aspect of it (the menu, the voiceover, the voice tapes etc.) And I think that is what pulled me in, as Bioshock is literally one of my favourite game series. The creators did such an amazing job on this one, I'm truly impressed and happy to be able to play it!
Bendy, Bioshock, and Dishonored 2 had a kid. Absolutely love this! One of the coolest games I've seen in awhile. Hope the game continues and makes more progress- would love to see more!

You definitely had a strong displacement towards the game at the start there. I wasn't sure why the critical dislike as the game working on setting itself up, but i am really glad to hear you started coming around. in the first one it was hinted at in several sections that the original reason joey drew wanted to make the ink machine was to create inky real life creatures of the cartoons for money gain, likely for an amusement park, so i suppose they changed it up a bit but dang, this game is best game ive seen in a while
This game has such a Bioshock Rapture vibe and I love it! It has all the best elements of the first game. The Keepers even look like smaller Big Daddies
honestly i too am pretty shocked! they really went all in with this one, and i'm glad they did. they gave us a hyped up-- but not exactly fruitful experience in the first game, but boy did they make our wait for a game just as good as its hype a worthit trade. fr, cannot put into words how gorgeous this game is, and how much more depth they implimented-- they also patched up the incredibely wacky and off the rail story they had before, which i'm glad they did.
The keeper: * wheezing * YESSS * wheeze * Also I like how it’s not like other story horror games or story games like this they speak but saying something else like “hello” for example for the voice acting it just shows a text so u can read, instead this is actually voice acting.
If you want to know more about the cycle and the characters, I wrote a few fun facts that you probably didn't know. It's lenghty, but interesting! The cycle is a "snapshot" of Joey Drew Studios 30 or so years ago (I guess). That means all the audio logs are snapshots too, except some like Wilson's that were made in the cycle itself. As stated, Henry from the first game isn't actually real Henry and was created by Joey to torment him out of hatred. At the end of the first game he restarted the cycle, but things probably play out differently every time. Henry spent years replaying the cycle over and over again, probably thousands of times. Good Alice (Allison Pendle) also doesn't seem to be the real Allison (who in the real world was a second voice actor of Alice Angel), rather a creation of Joey. I'm not sure if Tom is real either. His full name is Thomas Connor from Gent Corporation, he made the ink machine, but Joey stole it from him. He's also Allison's husband. The corrupted Alice is most likely a real person. In the real world she was Susie Cambel, the first voice actor for Alice, until she was replaced by Allison. That outcome left her filled with hatred which is probably why she looks twisted. The audio log from the first game hints that Joey put her into the cycle after meeting with her. He was one bad bastard. Everyone in the cycle eventually forget who they were before. The Lost Ones and all other monsters all seem to be real people brought to the cycle as a result of early experiments with the ink machine. The Ink Demon is a failed attempt to create Bendy and the first creation of the ink machine. He was made in the real world. He had no soul and looked horrible, but was docile. Joey ordered the staff to lock him in the basement of the infirmary for years. That's probably why he's murderous now. There is a novel that came out a few years ago, following the story of a young worker nicknamed Buddy. He's the one that let the ink demon out, thinking there's something down there that needs help. Everything goes to shit and the ink demon falls in the pool of ink, presumably into the cycle. Buddy is also killed and reborn into Boris. It's implied that Buddy Boris is the same one that is with Henry in the first game. He eventually lost his memory and personality. That's all I have, I hope whoever managed to read this enjoyed.
Idk about anyone else, but this game has MASSIVE Bioshock vibes! Like chapter 4? felt just like descending down below the ocean and seeing rapture for the first time, now that I think about it, the enemies even *act* like splicers too!
This was INCREDIBLE! From start to finish. The end scene with the ink demon was a little goofy but I liked it! And the jump scares 😂 Chefs mofugging kiss
Esthetically, this artwork is such a love letter to games like dishonored, bioshock and strangely a little bit of Disney inspiration, I love seeing how it all came together. That said, this game does feel a bit rushed, a tad mushed together, and Just a little bit unpolished. Simple things like the audio timing and its level of volume. Or the fact that even though the Inc demon has a system in place where you hide as soon as they are activated, we never have instances in where we see them in our area. It makes sense that we'd have some type of visible interaction like only seeing his legs and feet if we're in the barrels or him walking by when we hide in lockers, an getting a view shot of the wide infamous smile of his just looking around, it's extra detail, but it the game does good regardless what the extra mile would have been a nice touch. In games like dishonored more than bioshock we actually get reactions to some of the information learned while playing the game or like picking up notes and hearing the audio, when the keepers did all these experiments on bendy via tape recording, there no reaction from Audrey. I feel like it's weird to give the option of finding out this information early and not doing anything with it Only for it to be revealed later on with wilson. The game is having the ink demon go out of his way to explain that she's part of this realm before she even meets Joey and there's no audio of what questioning it or why does he keep saying that and then running into Joey and having this big bloww up before the blow up. It's like dumping all this information and not really doing anything with it, costwise or just not being able to have everything they wanted into this game. it just feels like it comes up short even though it's such a beautiful artistic type of game that we haven't seen for a while.
So to explain the lore - basically the world of the ink machine is a sort of alternate dimension created through some sort of demonic black magic (?). Im not entirely certain how it was made, but it exists and can’t be entirely destroyed. The ink is literally alive and works as a sort of infection, so when you drown in it, you are reborn in the ink realm. This is how Allison, Tom, and Henry are there and Sammy as well, as well as other characters. In the ink realm, the ink is still alive and has those same properties, and many souls traverse through it. If you die in the ink realm you’re reborn again. Normally the rules would say that you’re reborn as whatever the hell the machine spits out but if Henry and Audrey were constantly changing into searchers and whatnot it would make gameplay difficult so I think that’s why they don’t change. I dont know if there’s any way to kill something permanently. Finally, Jpey Drew’s “The Illusion of Living” is actually the story that controls the ink realm, as it’s somehow connected to this living ink. I have a theory that in order to set up the connection to the realm again, you have to connect the machine to things that spiritually represent the people who are tied to it, including the record, the book, the plushie, etc. That’s the lore summarised :D
This was so crazy and a great sequel. Makes me wonder if the cycle continues does that mean that Bendy still has a part of the demon in him? and if he does how will that effect the real world now that he is in it
Btw when you get teleported to the original chapter 1 place, you can find Henry's old desk. Upon finding this, Audrey will say "Hey an old desk, I bet someone wasted a lot of time on this chair."
The ink world seems to work like Dark Souls logic, where it goes in cycles that can be influenced to be different, but has to end. However, the reason it has to end isn't mandatory, but rather because, as Wilson learned, the ink world can in fact progress socially and technologically to eventually reach a point where the ink creations can escape and influence the real world, so the cycle happens as a way to protect the world from the ink dimension so Henry willingly redoes the cycle over and over again to prevent this from happening. What's also interesting is that the ink demon itself also gains social and technological advancement in tandem with the ink world, able to become more intelligent and even somewhat philosophical (or at least say tons of dramatic villain cliche lines), which makes sense because it is the ink dimension personified. So if the ink dimension reaches the point of blending into the real world from an unstopped cycle, the ink demon can reach a point where it can and will engulf and destroy the real world.

in the first one it was hinted at in several sections that the original reason joey drew wanted to make the ink machine was to create inky real life creatures of the cartoons for money gain, likely for an amusement park, so i suppose they changed it up a bit but dang, this game is best game ive seen in a while

This game has such a Bioshock Rapture vibe and I love it! It has all the best elements of the first game. The Keepers even look like smaller Big Daddies

This was alot of fun to watch IGP play and comment about. The game gives me Bio Shock vibes idk why. The ending was great, phenomenal even. 😊

honestly i too am pretty shocked! they really went all in with this one, and i'm glad they did. they gave us a hyped up-- but not exactly fruitful experience in the first game, but boy did they make our wait for a game just as good as its hype a worthit trade. fr, cannot put into words how gorgeous this game is, and how much more depth they implimented-- they also patched up the incredibely wacky and off the rail story they had before, which i'm glad they did.
That scene where Bendy “eats” Audrey still sends chills down my spine.

Also I like how it’s not like other story horror games or story games like this they speak but saying something else like “hello” for example for the voice acting it just shows a text so u can read, instead this is actually voice acting.

If you want to know more about the cycle and the characters, I wrote a few fun facts that you probably didn't know. It's lenghty, but interesting!
The cycle is a "snapshot" of Joey Drew Studios 30 or so years ago (I guess). That means all the audio logs are snapshots too, except some like Wilson's that were made in the cycle itself.
As stated, Henry from the first game isn't actually real Henry and was created by Joey to torment him out of hatred. At the end of the first game he restarted the cycle, but things probably play out differently every time. Henry spent years replaying the cycle over and over again, probably thousands of times.
Good Alice (Allison Pendle) also doesn't seem to be the real Allison (who in the real world was a second voice actor of Alice Angel), rather a creation of Joey. I'm not sure if Tom is real either. His full name is Thomas Connor from Gent Corporation, he made the ink machine, but Joey stole it from him. He's also Allison's husband.
The corrupted Alice is most likely a real person. In the real world she was Susie Cambel, the first voice actor for Alice, until she was replaced by Allison. That outcome left her filled with hatred which is probably why she looks twisted. The audio log from the first game hints that Joey put her into the cycle after meeting with her. He was one bad bastard.
Everyone in the cycle eventually forget who they were before.
The Lost Ones and all other monsters all seem to be real people brought to the cycle as a result of early experiments with the ink machine.
The Ink Demon is a failed attempt to create Bendy and the first creation of the ink machine. He was made in the real world. He had no soul and looked horrible, but was docile. Joey ordered the staff to lock him in the basement of the infirmary for years. That's probably why he's murderous now. There is a novel that came out a few years ago, following the story of a young worker nicknamed Buddy. He's the one that let the ink demon out, thinking there's something down there that needs help. Everything goes to shit and the ink demon falls in the pool of ink, presumably into the cycle.
Buddy is also killed and reborn into Boris. It's implied that Buddy Boris is the same one that is with Henry in the first game. He eventually lost his memory and personality.

Idk about anyone else, but this game has MASSIVE Bioshock vibes! Like chapter 4? felt just like descending down below the ocean and seeing rapture for the first time, now that I think about it, the enemies even *act* like splicers too!
I love how you are given the choice to free these souls and instead just choose violence the entire time.
This was INCREDIBLE! From start to finish. The end scene with the ink demon was a little goofy but I liked it!

Esthetically, this artwork is such a love letter to games like dishonored, bioshock and strangely a little bit of Disney inspiration, I love seeing how it all came together.
That said, this game does feel a bit rushed, a tad mushed together, and Just a little bit unpolished. Simple things like the audio timing and its level of volume. Or the fact that even though the Inc demon has a system in place where you hide as soon as they are activated, we never have instances in where we see them in our area. It makes sense that we'd have some type of visible interaction like only seeing his legs and feet if we're in the barrels or him walking by when we hide in lockers, an getting a view shot of the wide infamous smile of his just looking around, it's extra detail, but it the game does good regardless what the extra mile would have been a nice touch.
In games like dishonored more than bioshock we actually get reactions to some of the information learned while playing the game or like picking up notes and hearing the audio, when the keepers did all these experiments on bendy via tape recording, there no reaction from Audrey. I feel like it's weird to give the option of finding out this information early and not doing anything with it Only for it to be revealed later on with wilson.
The game is having the ink demon go out of his way to explain that she's part of this realm before she even meets Joey and there's no audio of what questioning it or why does he keep saying that and then running into Joey and having this big bloww up before the blow up. It's like dumping all this information and not really doing anything with it, costwise or just not being able to have everything they wanted into this game. it just feels like it comes up short even though it's such a beautiful artistic type of game that we haven't seen for a while.

I was already in love with the first game but this absolutely went above and beyond my expectations I hope to see another game judging from the ending
So to explain the lore -
basically the world of the ink machine is a sort of alternate dimension created through some sort of demonic black magic (?). Im not entirely certain how it was made, but it exists and can’t be entirely destroyed. The ink is literally alive and works as a sort of infection, so when you drown in it, you are reborn in the ink realm. This is how Allison, Tom, and Henry are there and Sammy as well, as well as other characters. In the ink realm, the ink is still alive and has those same properties, and many souls traverse through it. If you die in the ink realm you’re reborn again. Normally the rules would say that you’re reborn as whatever the hell the machine spits out but if Henry and Audrey were constantly changing into searchers and whatnot it would make gameplay difficult so I think that’s why they don’t change. I dont know if there’s any way to kill something permanently. Finally, Jpey Drew’s “The Illusion of Living” is actually the story that controls the ink realm, as it’s somehow connected to this living ink. I have a theory that in order to set up the connection to the realm again, you have to connect the machine to things that spiritually represent the people who are tied to it, including the record, the book, the plushie, etc.

This was so crazy and a great sequel. Makes me wonder if the cycle continues does that mean that Bendy still has a part of the demon in him? and if he does how will that effect the real world now that he is in it
Btw when you get teleported to the original chapter 1 place, you can find Henry's old desk. Upon finding this, Audrey will say "Hey an old desk, I bet someone wasted a lot of time on this chair."

The ink world seems to work like Dark Souls logic, where it goes in cycles that can be influenced to be different, but has to end. However, the reason it has to end isn't mandatory, but rather because, as Wilson learned, the ink world can in fact progress socially and technologically to eventually reach a point where the ink creations can escape and influence the real world, so the cycle happens as a way to protect the world from the ink dimension so Henry willingly redoes the cycle over and over again to prevent this from happening.
What's also interesting is that the ink demon itself also gains social and technological advancement in tandem with the ink world, able to become more intelligent and even somewhat philosophical (or at least say tons of dramatic villain cliche lines), which makes sense because it is the ink dimension personified. So if the ink dimension reaches the point of blending into the real world from an unstopped cycle, the ink demon can reach a point where it can and will engulf and destroy the real world.
That last part is actually a pretty scary thing to think about
