FROM THE KID IN THAT VIDEO: HEY ALL!!! I am Jeff, the fan in the video. A friend of mine just recently linked this video to me and I am in utter-shock and disbelief over the amount of amazingly kind and generous comments on this video as well as the fact that it has reached 1.5 million views. A true dream of mine came true that night and I never in a million years thought it would garner any attention yet alone this much. It truly warms my heart and makes me feel better about the sometimes non-reassuring career path, music, that I have chosen! A few things to address: 1. I can confidently tell anyone that has any disbelief, that this was by no means planned at all! I have seen Gary perform many other times. On one occasion I was 13 and he handed me a guitar pic from the stage. Another time in 2016 I met him after a show at The Stone Pony and gave him my hat. He remembered me from that encounter, hence the comment “I don’t still have the hat,” but he had no assured knowledge I can play the guitar. He was being the truly generous person he is and took a chance on me, a chance I will forever be grateful for! 2. Thank you for all the comments, positive or negative, I take them all to heart and hope that each and every comment will only help me further my musicianship!! Although, a few of the comments about my “moving” on stage were a bit harsh, I understand where everyone is coming from and respect your point of view. I, however, was not intending to steal any spotlight or show off. I was nervous and playing with my idol in front of thousands of people. I was simply feeling the music in the same way everyone from Jerry Lee Lewis to Angus Young to Chuck Berry have been known to do. Regardless I still take all criticism to heart and hope to learn from what everyone has to say! If anyone has any questions or comments or even wants to jam or inquire about any music/booking information you can find my email and social media in the “about” section of my channel. I would be more than happy to chat! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart! Peace, Love and Music, Jeff Tallman

Congrats talented young man; you deserved all the accolades! Continue to have fun and enjoy the greatest gifted talent.. guitarist and performer! Love you.
Joe Bonamassa toured locally with BB King when he was 12. Gary will probably see a video in the future of one of those kids telling 10,000+ people at an event that he got to play with Gary Clark Jr.
I think this was an incredibly kid gesture, and Gary not only didn't run him off, stage he took a back seat to the kid. Whew I knew I like Gary, but damn.
It's possible this was planned. The kid was setting the amp and they just let him do that. Imagine if he was playing with the volume. The sound guy would have freaked out.
You guys are fooled tho. That’s not just some kid. Gary is bullshitting everyone there. He knows the kid or what everyone knows as the incredible Quinton
that was incredible! the only thing better than Jeff's playing was Gary's graciousness in sharing the stage and giving this young fan a once-in-a-lifetime memory! (and Gary looked like he really enjoyed it too!)
it depends Gary should have engaged him w/ the guitar instead of stopping him....lots of insecurity from artists n working professionals.....in the music industry
Man this kid has so much enthusiasm on the stage, I was worried he was about to accidentally unplug himself especially on that one solo. Love seeing that energy!

Some people are born with a star, and some others are a STAR since they are born! And this is not about Mr. Clark because we already know he's a one of a kind. This is about a kid doing the unexpected and blow our minds with his performance! I'm in awe!!
When my son was 16, the lead trombonist of the Alabama Symphony did the same thing for him and he definitely stepped right on up. It was a big life moment in both if our journeys and what a giving person to do that for someone else. My son pursued a career in music, including obtaining a masters degree and is now in the Navy band. Small actions make such a difference. Thank you to that person and to Gary Clark, Jr.

This FIRED ME UP!!! It's so good to see the younger generation making REAL MUZIK! GOOD FOR YOU JEFF!!! Kudos Gary Clark Jr.!!!
Not only is he talented, but he respects when attention should be put on him or the vocals. This is his moment to shine, but instead he played with the band, emphasizing what he needed to and then doing his job the other times instead of taking away from the song by trying to "showcase" his talent. I really respect that
This kid just had the best gift any 18 year old could have. I love it. His playing was awesome and sounded great with the band. Gary is a phenomenal class act for this.
I think he did a great job! He was having a great time on stage those of us that are musicians understand that it’s not always about trying to look cool it’s about feeling the music and letting the sound come out of us in anyway possible. He killed it. Congrats to everyone that was an awesome performance!!

It's totally different feeling the energy of crowd and playing off it! You either love it or the pressure crushes you.
Freaking awesome guitar skills this kid has. Totally into the music. Wicked skills!! Kudos to Gary for bringing him on. I'm feeling hendrix vibes from this kid!!
Who cares about the moving around, get him some pants that fit😂
The young man rocked. He feels the blues with whole body. I closed my eyes and was rocking somewhere away.
Thanks to Gary for the duo.
I want more 😏
Young bro amazing!!
Holy moly!? This kid is a phenomenon beyond all reason! I never seen nor heard anyone on this level of phenominity! His talent, dedication, love of music and level of dedication is beyond all reason reason! Omg he is phenomenal beyond words. I am so profoundly impressed! What a God given talent he has been blessed with. You go boy!!!
Wow, that was brilliant! I have cramps in my cheeks from smiling through the entire thing. Gary Clark is class.
Seán Hassett me too!!
Thank you so much for the kind comment! Glad you enjoyed that was a dream come true!
Seán Hassett yessss!
I thought I was the only one to have cramped cheeks from smiling at this!
I Know, Right?
Can’t help coming back routinely and having a blast like I was with him in that passionate heat of his moment! Truly blessed to have an opportunity of a lifetime! Congrats talented young man; you deserved all the accolades! Continue to have fun and enjoy the greatest gifted talent.. guitarist and performer! Love you.
This is called taking advantage of your opportunity. Kid nailed it
Fuckin KILLED IT!!!
Sono mitici
Joe Bonamassa toured locally with BB King when he was 12. Gary will probably see a video in the future of one of those kids telling 10,000+ people at an event that he got to play with Gary Clark Jr.
Sorry but I didn’t see anything special enough to warrant his being on stage.
@@gabbyhayes1568
You're outa your mind ! That kid owned his guitar!! Fantastic. Him. You, not so much.
I think this was an incredibly kid gesture, and Gary not only didn't run him off, stage he took a back seat to the kid. Whew I knew I like Gary, but damn.
James Quinlan Well said James. The way Gary gave him the spotlight like that, kind and humble. And damn, Jeff stepped up! Happy birthday Jeff!
Thats what its all about!!! Keepin the Blues alive through todays young people!! Also shows what a great guy Gary is!!!!
Yep-just when you think jazz, blues and good ole rock are about to go extinct ... there are signs of hope.
it depends Gary should have engaged him w/ the guitar instead of stopping him....lots of insecurity from artists n working professionals.....in the music industry
Man this kid has so much enthusiasm on the stage, I was worried he was about to accidentally unplug himself especially on that one solo. Love seeing that energy!
Man, that young man will think about this the rest of his life! Thanks to Gary for being so cool and allowing Jeff to fulfill his dream of playing with him. Coolest video I've seen in a while.
This is one of the best "fan gets on stage" videos i've ever seen
It even tops my Sammy Hagar let's me sing a verse from I Can't Drive 55 moment at the Fillmore in S.F. for Cinco de Mayo show back in the day.
Adrian Davis #humblebrag
Kid on stage with Steel Panther...
Kiss guy with Foo Fighters MONKEY WRENCH!!!
@@adriandavis9279 I had 12 beautiful seconds with Banda MS and that was way way WAY before the snoop dog thing. But this is way cooler. That was just cool because I'm the only white guy. This is legit good.
Mr Clark sir, you have the soul of an angel. Respect for giving someone an opportunity to share their love of music with you, thank you.
Man, that’s excellent! Awesome that GCJr brought the kid up but he looked so happy that the kid fell right in! Jeff was amazing, he owned that stage. His fills were great and his solo was great! Hats off to the both of you.
Any musician will tell you, it isn't how you play the notes, it's how you FEEL the music... This kid feels the music! Excellent job!
When I listen to music, I can tell when a performer is feeling the notes rather than just seeing notes
any musician will tell you that feeling the music is usually just boomer bends and making weird faces
This is incredible kid gonna never forget this moment for the rest of his life
Some people are born with a star, and some others are a STAR since they are born!
Thank you to that person and to Gary Clark, Jr.
anyone who can play like that can dance ANY WAY THAT HE WANTS!!!
Your god damn right... Play on young man
Noooo this was terrible.
Randall Marsh word
You said it straight, Damn right! Very well versed!🎸🎶🕺💕
@@GavinSummers his playing wasn't the dancing was tho.
Just freaking beautiful!! Seeing fans rock out with famous musicians is the best!!
Its 630am and I'm in a hotel in Charlotte on business and I'm jumping up and down shouting while watching this. Bet the ppl in the next room hate me lol but this excited me to no end!!!
This FIRED ME UP!!!
It's so good to see the younger generation making REAL MUZIK!
GOOD FOR YOU JEFF!!!
Kudos Gary Clark Jr.!!!
i love when celebs especially musicians do this kind of stuff for theirs fans, God Bless Mr. Clark
So many talented kids out there. Thanks for letting him show his talent!😝
Jeff is a friend of mine. Super kid with a super talent. Not sure hes seen this particular video but I just shared it with him.

Joan Towey what did the sign say
Your friend is INCREDIBLE! JEFF JEFF JEFF!
Joan Towey How old is Jeff?
I'd like to give some credit to who ever is recording. Props for maintaining a perfect visual
clearcup YES!!! And holding their phone sideways!!! That must always be appreciated!
So damn right
right!!!!! agreed!
Mark Kim is the one you're talking about that's holding perfect visual.
Yeah maybe they should have just been quiet in the beginning of the video...
Not only is he talented, but he respects when attention should be put on him or the vocals. This is his moment to shine, but instead he played with the band, emphasizing what he needed to and then doing his job the other times instead of taking away from the song by trying to "showcase" his talent. I really respect that
Gary Clark Jr. is cooler than the other side of the pillow...
Love this comment! RIP Stuart Scott!
Brad Biggs
Fuckin A brother!
Cooler than a polar bears toenails.
Best analogy
Cooler than a penguins ass!
EXCEPTIONAL GESTURE by one of my Favorite Artists! Great Job Jeff. Gary Clark, Jr.... I Salute You Brotha! Bravo!
This is one of the coolest videos I've ever seen. What a special moment!
Lovely thing of Gary to do! The young guy looks like he's totally over the moon, and having the time of his life. What an 18th birthday present! 😊
It’s pretty hard to play the blues wrong when you have this much heart. Well done, my man
Jeff, you really need to come out of your shell. (LOL) Congrats on living an experience you'll never forget til your last day.
Gary Clark Jr.... paying the Blues forward. Very generous of you, kind sir!
This kid just had the best gift any 18 year old could have. I love it. His playing was awesome and sounded great with the band. Gary is a phenomenal class act for this.
Jeff, I love every minute of your debut. Son, you rock! You made my day, I hope you get as famous as the blues artists you played with! Rock on!
I think he did a great job! He was having a great time on stage those of us that are musicians understand that it’s not always about trying to look cool it’s about feeling the music and letting the sound come out of us in anyway possible. He killed it. Congrats to everyone that was an awesome performance!!
This is the Proof that Gary Clark Jr. is a Great American sharing his dream with a talented young man and giving his fans a FAN-TASTIC performance !!!
GCJr. is a musician that can only be heard if you reach for the Top Shelf !!!!
I had never heard of Mr. Clark until he was the musical guest on SNL. I was totally blown away. I grew up with the likes of King, Hendrix, Vaughan, & Clapton. To know that there is another guitarist who has picked up the torch & is delivering stellar licks & great vocals brings a smile to my face. Yes!
He is simply an old soul that kid ..extraordinary skills to play the blues like that and he feel every note he picked .he ripped it up with his idol..so far this is prob one of the best you tube vids this year..magic shit !!
I had never heard of Gary Clark, but I have now. What a great thing for him to do! I'll be looking for more music from Gary and I appreciate his heart.
Hard to believe they were calling Gary the next Stevie Ray 5 or 6 years ago
GCJ manager sees this comment and will think, I told you so Gazza! Lol
Neither have i.but I sure know who he is now.the man definitely has my respect.
Lawd lawd lawd. How many of us have dreamt of a moment like this. Smiles and chills the whole time. Awesome!!
Sounds like this picker is on his way..stay original, and fuck some shit up..ya...!
You could tell this kid was truly a fan. Added his own flair but stuck true to the song and definitely added something to this performance.
Not ashamed to say this brought chills and then tears of pure joy for the moment! Music is power!
Might have gone on stage a kid, but came off The man!
Lol but you have a point!
on point Chris👍
DA MAN
Jeff is absolutely amazing! He can rock that guitar like any other of the top guitarists out there. Rock on dude!
I've never even listened to this man, or do I listen to this specific type of music but this guy has definitely earned my respect, what a memory for that kid. He just changed somebody's life.
Me to man...sooo freaking cool and dude man killed it!
You can tell how this kid is moving around on stage even before they even start playing that he's excited and nervous at the same time he'll never forget this the rest of his life
Wow This kid is amazing, I love how he feels the music and gets lost in it. Don't ever change for anyone, & anyone who says anything negative is just jealous, cause there girlfriends or boyfriends are fascinated by you , as am I . you are amazing and I couldn't take my eyes of you , watching you , I could feel the music even more. Thank you
That was amazing.. at first he looked a lil awkward but after he got going the kid flowed with the moment and became one with the guitar. That was badass his moves were him feeling the music.. Amazing kid:you Rock!
This was an extremely awesome performance from this young man! He will always remember this! Gary Clark Jr gave this kid a chance we all dream of doing! Just awesome!
To see Gary Clark Jr smiling happy for saw the guy playing: will never have a price, unique moment 😃👍🏼😅👍🏼
When opportunity knocked, he answered the damn door!
Rip Sumrall he didn’t just answer. He ripped the door of the hinges and drug opportunity’s ass inside.
Broke that shit down
@@michaelwilliams2764 then served up a whole lotta DAYUM!!!!!
Love it !!! The kid was feeling it... that's what its about. I don't know him, but Gary thanks for giving this guy a chance. Could be life changing... I know he'll never forget it. :)
His enthusiasm is so sweet…to have a Grammy performer actually allow a fan up on stage shows there is no ego…refreshing….kid can play
This took some serious balls. Props to Gary for calling him up and congratulations to the fan for giving it 100%. That short 7-note run at 6.19 is nice.
Props to the legend Gary Clark Jr and to "Jeff" u did amazing bro. Proud of you and I don't even know you
It’s great to see established people in music give a lucky guy a chance to show his talent.
This gave me goosebumps watching that kid play his heart and soul out on stage I could not imagine the range of emotions that he was going through.
Great respect for this young man. He also respected every band member. 👌❤️
just great I really enjoyed thisvideo such talent fun to watch this young man play liks a star
How COOL was that! Well done that lad for making the absolute most of what is, probably, a once in a lifetime opportunity. And I'm off, right now, to find some Gary Clark Jr music. Never heard of him but I like what I heard and saw. Loved it!
How does this not have millions of views? I got tears and goosebumps. Music!! ♡♡
4 years late, but Hey Jeff, loved your performance with your idol! That was truly an amazing performance.. love the energy and excitement you have for the music!
This young man will never forget this. I'd be willing to bet Gary won't, either! This has to be one of the most amazing things I've seen and heard in you-tube. You can bet I'll watch it again!
