Not the next Jimi but the first Gary Clark
Why am I just seeing this? Makes me question my life choices. That was amazing
I know right....
I am literally tearing up every time he sings "I can't take it no more". And then this amazing solo with so much pain and frustration. I don't think I can listen to other songs ever again 😳
yeah buddy - that "I can't take it no more" - simultaneously makes me think "my god i feel you man" and say "thats a bad motherfucker..." at the same damn time.
My brother taught himself to play guitar when he was in high school. He went to college and became a veterinarian. Now that he's retired he picked up that guitar again and loves Gary Clark jr. Thanks to his little sister forgiving him a heads up on one of the best guitarists I've ever heard. His soul is in every song he plays thank you Gary
This was the one that introduced me to his music.... it takes a lot for me to get into someone new, this hit the mark 100%
always impressive to see guitarist doing that kind of faces, it shows how deep they are in
yeah :) check Kingfish Ingram if you didnt already :)
The Hendrix/Vaughan face :)
Yea hes got a great stank face. All great guitarists look like they just smelled the nastiest fart during their solos lol.
that drummer too though
shades of SRV faces!!!!
I don't know why somebody would give this a thumbs down. This guy is awesome. If we ever get to do concerts again, he's at the top of my list.
Because idiots exist.
He plays at Chan’s in RI once in awhile
Haters gonna hate….and be miserable! Love GCJ👏❤️
As he should be at the top of your list. He is phenomenal especially live!
began eating dinner but couldn't lift the spoon listening to that solo. Monstrously beautiful.
What were you eating?
@@valgirard4718 yeah lets see if he remembers after a yeah lol
year*
@@jesperceria3934, yeah i know. Sometimes people remember meaningless info. Like this is something i would remember.
Jishnu Jagajeeve you know right. Holy moly!
Shredder deluxe!!
Hey from Austin Texas. Best place to hear the blues in the world.
Ladys and Gents- WHAT A DRUMMER!
very minimalist drummer, keeping a beat is ok - I'm an expressive drummer -adding tones and rhythm - a beat is repetitive
Bluesy Choosy - thank you Sir ... i am in the most excellent agreement with you.
Doyle Bramhall II -? He played drums in his youth.......
Bluesy Choosy, the Drummer is from Velvet Underground (11:44) . JOKE !!!
wanna see a great drummer? th-cam.com/video/cdMFPkvSlYc/w-d-xo.html
This randomly came on while I wasn't paying attention and now I've played it about 30 times in a row 🔥🔥🔥
I heard this song in a film somewhere about a year ago and i was hooked on it , blues will never die . This man has a raw talent
I heard it when I watched the Movie "Chef". Great Song, GC Jr. made it that much better tho!
Yeah in The Chef he jammed this and Travis County...
Remember going to Antons in Austin and seeing him play when he was still in his early teens.
Got goosebumps when Gary started singing. Absolute legend.
The thing I love about Gary is he manages to evolve every song he's written every time he plays live. I have heard so many different versions of this live and it keeps on getting better. This is hands-down, one of the best live renditions of this song.
He went to another planet and I was right there with him
I can't believe that there is an ad in the middle of this genius singer's song! He is amazing! Love him!
Props to the sound engineer of this Venue for doing a great job.
Excellent guitar solo against the backdrop of a brilliant band. Everything's right, everything. I wish I could fly away playing the instrument, it's a beautiful moment.
I never even heard of this guy until about an hour ago when I saw Joe Rogan refer to him in his podcast (with guest, Edward Norton)...
Wow... maybe I'll have more words later... but for right now, just... wow.
Even Gary was getting caught up with emotion on this one...Nice!
This is one bad ass song, and Gary Clark Jr. is one bad ass dude!
Nothing but the good old fashion blues being played through a good old fashion Gibson SG there man ...LOVE IT!
Best supportive crowd ever!!!! Brilliant. He's something special isn't he?
Gary hardly ever looks down at the guitar. Amazing talent, just plain awesome. Thanks and what a band he's got too. They are all amazing.
Didn't even realize this was eleven minutes long until after it was over.
Me too
same thats how u know its good
Feeling like they should have gone longer, but they also play exactly as long as they were supposed to!!! Great blues!!!!
One of those jams, you don't want to end...
this was absolutely beautiful. i might never have heard anything as beautiful as this. gary is one of the true modern greats. many modern musicians should watch this video and take an example. just my opinion. i am absolutely stunned
Not modern but 1975 th-cam.com/video/rDFbsAZsm0Y/w-d-xo.html
Gary Clark Jr is one of the best guitarist ever! These guy is amazing and I love listening to him!
Haven’t been to church in a while. Thanks for taking me back Gary 😂👏🏼🤘🏻
I love seeing a crowd chant so strong that it interrupts the band's set list. That's a clear indication of a high level performer
First time hearing this man's music and
I gotta say I like this song so far..
This solo is legendary- a solo that spurred me further into guitar
Bob Ross is killing it on the drums
Yup. All curly haired guys look like Bob Ross.
I was going to say Tom Waits, but this'll work too
brushing up his skills on the drums now our Bob ☺️
Actually, take a bit closer of a look. It's Booger - Revenge of the Nerds. Hes just been playing drums the last 30 years.
"There's no such thing as mistakes, only happy accidents" 😂😂
10:44 after releasing the beast in his solo he takes control of it again and smoothly transitions back into the main riff 🤩
Amazing to me that many don't know who Gary Clark jr is .. amazing talent for years now
A Living Legend! Love GCLJR feeling and epic blues performance as always!!!
First time getting into and discovering GCJ and I have to see the amount of emotion he pours into that solo is fucking staggering. I’m floored.
If you aren't familiar with Marcus King you may like his stuff as well
th-cam.com/video/aySZkIAGT34/w-d-xo.html
Never knew of this fella before. My loss. BRILLIANT!
I will never be as good at anything in my life as this man is on guitar. Shit gave me goosebumps. God damn that was good!!!
You could be whatever you want as long as you’re willing to work for it
Gary is amazing. While you may not be as creative, you could learn everything he does a couple weeks with TH-cam. It's all e minor pentatonic work. might be the first scale we all have learned. Now being a lot to create this yourself is a whole different story.
@@benjaminvillarreal1499 I’m 40 and just now trying to pick up a guitar. To say it’s been rough would be a huge understatement. Especially with these sausage fingers. 😂 but thanks for the words of encouragement. Seriously.
@@benjaminvillarreal1499 You can't learn this in a couple of weeks. Maybe in 10 years but not a week.
Ok, it's been quite a few years since this dude started getting down! Used to sneek into Austin City Limits... with an X on his hand so he couldn't drink... backing blues men at 13... One man band himself, look it up! His drummer and bassist have been by his side since day one... and the new glue, yes you guys got the rhythm! Gary is a phenomenon !!! Gary can do it all!
A master class, and a band worthy of each others talents, just in sync feeding of each other.
I've known about Gary Clark basically by accident. ..I'm stunned this cat isn't insanely popular.
he headlines most festivals hes in... hes not sweating it by any means
He was at hyde park when i went to go see Clapton and i had no idea. Heard him playing while we were lining up to get in so i didnt actually see him and just by chance i saw his name on my tshirt this year searched him up. Was not disappointed
He ain't that good is probably the reason. Most likely he fools a lot of non-guitar players with all his needless histrionics and ridiculous face pulling, but he won't fool everyone. In the same way that people who don't know much about rock music like the Foo Fighters
Johnson are you crazy this dude is amazing. Go watch "along the watchtower" with him and DMB. He destroys it. Let me ask you this can you play it better? Probably not, so be a keyboard warrior and relax
The reason he isn't popular is because he sucks
I had the absolute pleasure of meeting GCJ in July of 2015 when he came to the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, PA. Would you believe I was the last person to walk him to his bus? It was just me and him and I couldn't believe it. Talked about a lot in a short time. A shy quiet guy. You have to let him get comfortable to speak and then he will open up. That was the highlight of my year by far!
Como se llama el baterista ?
I reckon so.....
First time I've ever heard this guy. OMG, where have I BEEN ????!!!!!!!
